Very good beers on tap from Brookings-based Eponymous Brewing Company. We liked it so much, we came for breakfast on Saturday morning as well. We both really enjoyed the stuffed waffles. Decor/atmosphere is very nice. An extremely pleasant environment. I enjoyed sitting by the fireplace both times.

I did appreciate that we were seated right away (reservations took priority over walk ins) but it took about 10 minutes before we were handed waters and menus. It then took 30 minutes before we received our appetizer to which we were then told the rest of our food was done at the same time. Typically, I don't prefer to eat my appetizer at the same time as my entree, but in this case I worried with how slow of service we were receiving I wouldn't see my entree for another hour. Almost all of our food was amazing. I ordered a house salad and the Fillet of Beef with mashed potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and wild rice soup and the prime rib. He said the prime rib wasn't anything to write home about but it did the job. Overall, service was slow but everyone was super nice. I think they just need to hire a few more people which I know is difficult to do. I really hope this place can find the help they need because the food is so good and I want to see this place continue to succeed.

The total came to about…read more$170 for three entrées, a kids' meal, appetizers, several alcoholic drinks, and 2 desserts, which felt like a very fair price for a steakhouse with good food. I ordered the chicken sandwich without aioli, and I might have gone wrong with that choice because the sriracha ended up overpowering it a bit, but everything else was great. Service was friendly and attentive, and when it got busy another waiter stepped in and also made great conversation. The atmosphere was nice overall--dry-aged meats were on display, the tables were well set, and even the bathrooms were clean and looked really nice. It was a little cold inside, but not a big issue. Also, wine is half off on Wednesdays. Overall, a great spot I'd definitely go back to and recommend.

What we didn't like = price for the quality The spinach dip was saturated in butter floating at the top of dip. Fettuccine was also butter soaked. Steak special fillet was good. Risotto tasted like white rice mixed with cream of mushroom soup (college food). The ribeye was charred and had too much grizzle taste like the grill it cooked on was grimy and unclean. We spent near $400 on the dinner and left sick from the over butter and sick we paid that much for THAT dinner. Not worth the drive or price. Do not fool yourself that the drive will be an experience dinner.

Not only was the beer great, the brewer was friendly and informative. Plus, they have a great burger (that isn't iceberg lettuce) and FANTASTIC sweet potato fries, possibly the best I've ever had. It was a fabulous start for SD!

What's particularly good this time, is they have upped there game with a new chef. The food wasn't bad before but now it seems like the taste of the dishes have been upped another level. The time i've been here to grab some food I would give the dishes 5 stars each. I tried their hamburger of the week, that was so good; probably one of the best i've had. They had a bacon jam, two types of cheese with one of them deep fried like a biscuit. Of course the buns were soft. What a stellar burger. Their pizza was almost as tasty as their burger and maybe not to that of Dempsey's but nothing to be ashamed at and I wouldn't hestitate to order again. They a variety of beers the produce and i'm not a much of a beer person but any of their wheat drinks are good. This place I would say would be better in winter but is a fine place to come and hang out for food and conversation and sometimes they have someone playing music which is a nice added touch.
