Various lagers, Ciders and beers on tap and a great international bottle selection. Staff are all great and have some awesome banter. They host a great pub quiz that is good fun but also not too easy. If you are staying in any of the City Road hotels this is a standard replacement for any of the hotel bars. The city is buzzing all year round depending on if you know where to go. Chester on the other hand is a tad sleepier which isn't a bad thing at all if you wanna get away from the hustle and bustle for an evening. A chilled out sunday vibe was desired last week and I got more than I bargained for. The place was busy but relaxed and there was the added bonus of it beinng an open mic night. (which, I think is a weekly thing. (I think) The decor of this huge pub is something that has to be experienced. In fact it has all the features I like in any building. High ceilings, exposed timbers, brick walls housing industrial artefacts and a gorgeous feature glass frontage (with a tranquil scene overlooking the canal) all make for a perfect setting for a great evening in my book. Good cask beer selection, a good few international beers on tap too. They have a good selection in their fridges and a good few wines available too to suit most tastes. The Pork baguette did not come with apple chutney, stuffing, or piccalilli like the menu said, however the pork itself was some of the best roasted pork I have had...it was juicy and flavourful...not dried out and bland. The chips could've been in the fryer a little longer, but I was in a rush otherwise the sandwich would've been sent back. If it wasn't for the amazing pork...I would've given this place a one-star because it was the only saving grace of the entire experience.
