They all do their jobs and remain friendly even with unpleasant customers. Over the past years, the USPS budget has either been cut or congress has failed to adequately increase its funding. Small post offices across the country like the one in Pinos Altos, NM, have been closed, forcing those residents to use boxes at the larger post offices or private ones. These rural residents not only lose an important postal service but a social hub as well. It appears that some in government want to see the USPS fail so that they can privatize it, and so they are letting it die by a thousand cuts. I am extremely grateful to have a post office in our small town, and I appreciate those who continue to get the job done and done well under increasingly difficult circumstances.
