Second "bed" in cabin. This is not a real bed as indicated in the description, it's a aluminum cot with a 2" foam pad. Disappointing.
Sage J.

Booked two nights for my dad and myself in one of their cabins since it was clearly advertised as having "two beds, one twin and one full". When we entered the room there was but one bed, the second "bed" is a folding aluminum cot with a 2" foam pad and no way to securely lock the legs. This is not a bed, it's a cot, and should never be advertised as a two-bed cottage. The Liney Moon refunded my second night's stay in full and were really good about that part, but we had to scramble to find alternative lodging. The cabins are also brand new, and the chemical fumes from the varnish or paint is still quite strong. Other than that the place is super cute.

Featuring beautiful views of the hills, each of the Casitas have their own personality. Sized for different needs, each Casita is well designed for comfort with well selected furnishings and finishes. Most have outdoor fireplaces, which are wonderful for gathering around on a chilly evening. All of the Casitas are very comfortable. However, for couples, I would highly recommend springing extra for the very private "Pauline" Casita. Located at the top of the hilltop, the Pauline features a large soaking tub and double shower. The views are spectacular! If the Pauline is booked up, there are others that are comparable. Recently, Hill Country Casitas added a large pool and spa, which are great for warm months. Other amenities include a large outdoor pavilion, a retreat center, firepit, and outdoor game area. Hill Country Casitas is also adjacent to the wonderful Hawk Shadow winery which we recommend for the tastings which are held on an outdoor terrace overlooking the canyon. If you are a "dog person", Hill Country Casitas also is very "dog friendly". I can't recommend it more highly for couples, family get togethers, wedding celebrations, or corporate retreats. Five Stars! Check it out!

First of all, the 'cabin' was a stone house that was as cute as it could be. The owners must either have a really good sense of style or they used a professional decorator. The appointments and style in the cabin were first very attractive. This place not only had all the amenities a first class hotel would have, it had some very, very nice touches added, such as rockers on the porch draped with Mexican blankets in front of the outdoor fireplace, with a stack of wood ready to burn. The tiled shower had a shower head on each side wall, so two people could easily shower together and have plenty of room. The bathroom was equipped with lots of plush towels, plush rugs, a hair dryer, all the soaps and lotions, and a black washcloth for makeup removal. The kitchen was fully equipped, including ground coffee in the canister ready for the coffee pot. The cabin was immaculate too. Our location was quiet and restful, yet 20 minutes from two cute towns. I was pleased and impressed, and would highly recommend this retreat.

HORROR STORY: This was the worst rental experience ever!…read moreYou'll want to read every detail... I'm an author with a tight publication deadline looming. To meet it, I decided to escape my usual distractions and embark on a two-week writing retreat. Without transportation, I needed a place with a kitchen and high-speed internet so I could stay put and focus. I also preferred somewhere remote to minimize interruptions. After browsing various options, I settled on D6 Retreats, believing it would be ideal based on their photos. I chose their "Stargazer" RV, one of the few units equipped with its own kitchenette and bathroom. Although I anticipated a bit of rustic charm, I wasn't picky, having previously traveled in an RV for seven months. Upon arrival, I was stunned by how misleading the photos had been. The RV was significantly smaller and in far worse condition than depicted. It smelled strongly of mold, and the floors were so rotted that they almost felt springy with each step. Despite this, I tried to stay positive and unpacked my belongings. Soon, I noticed swarms of tiny, biting gnats and an air conditioning unit so loud it overpowered my noise-canceling headphones and music. Determined to focus on my work, I set up my laptop, only to discover that the Wi-Fi was down. I contacted the resort using the provided number, and they instructed me to try again after resetting the router. This started a frustrating exchange that dragged on throughout the day and night. By the next morning, the Wi-Fi was still non-functional. I explained that my primary reason for being there was to work on my book, which I couldn't do without internet access. The resort staff were unhelpful, continually blaming AT&T. Eventually, the owner, Tara, reached out. She was kind and admitted they were aware of the issue, offering me a cabin at their other location until the Wi-Fi was fixed. The cabin had no bathroom, kitchen, or running water--just a bed--and despite being charming, it became unbearably hot. Even with the A/C running, it was like sitting in a puddle of sweat. The lack of a bathroom meant frequent trips to the "outhouse," adding to my discomfort. By 5 pm, with no Wi-Fi fix in sight, I requested a refund to find alternative accommodation. Tara provided a portable hotspot for the RV, and later that evening, the Wi-Fi was restored. Despite the rough start, I hoped I could finally concentrate on my project. The next morning, while working in the RV, used the bathroom. When I flushed, the toilet backed up, filling with water that had disturbing black objects floating in it. To my horror, these turned out to be black soldier fly larvae. A quick search confirmed that larvae in an RV toilet indicated serious issues with the holding tanks and sewage lines, which would require hydroblasting and fumigation. The larvae began climbing up the toilet sides, trying to escape. I contacted the retreat immediately, but no one responded. After 40 minutes, hunched over the toilet of terror and battling larvae, I encountered a maintenance worker at a neighboring RV who agreed to try reaching the retreat on my behalf. An hour later, I received a text saying someone would be sent, but it was clear a simple maintenance fix wouldn't be sufficient. I sent the retreat an article about the severity of the problem & the necessary treatments & insisted on leaving, but they refused to acknowledge that as an option. As larvae contined to try and escape the toilet, the maintenance worker returned, promising that bleach would solve the problem. I watched him pour half a gallon of bleach down the toilet. Unfortunately, within minutes, larvae began reappearing. My ride arrived shortly after, & I quickly vacated the premises. The first thing my friend said upon entering the RV was, "Oh god, what is that smell?" followed by, "Who would ever want to stay here?" Nearly ten days later, after following up, the retreat finally issued a partial refund. A partial refund after such an ordeal was infuriating. It was the final straw that prompted me to write this review. Beware of this place.

Had my friends and I stayed longer than a weekend we probably would have liked it even less. In…read morefairness it was a very average experience. The cabins are nice and comfortably house a few people each. The beds however were NOT COMFORTABLE AT ALL. The cabin is nicely air conditioned but that amounts to nothing in the beds that I could only describe as "hot." The retreat also advertised "WiFi on 99% (their number) of the retreat." To put it bluntly... the WiFi was not good. Our friend had to use his phone as a hot spot for our stay. We spent most of our time at the pool which was laughably small considering, as we discovered day 1 of our stay, that it was shared not only amongst the cabins and house that reside on D6 Retreat but also neighboring campgrounds. Thus leading to a very cramped swimming experience. Don't expect to do laps in the pool. On the topic of "neighboring campgrounds" and "discoveries day 1 of our trip" we had a small interaction with the hosts of D6 regarding noise. We were informed via email that "quiet hours were between 10PM to 7AM." Our party had full intentions to abide to this rule. We had spoken with the many neighbors that we had intentions to set up Karaoke around 8 in the evening until the designated quiet time. Our neighbors residing in the house and some from a close campground were down to join in on the festivities. Unfortunately, roughly 10 minutes after the equipment was set up and a mic check was complete we were approached by the "supposed" owners of the campground to inform us that amplified music was not allowed on the grounds unless we rented out the entire retreat. Not just the house and cabins, but EVERY NEIGHBORING CAMPGROUND that as far as our party could tell was not advertised as part of the retreat. We abided to their wishes but the situation left a sour taste in our party's mouth as it was a poorly communicated rule not given to us prior to our stay. We had a nice weekend despite the hitch in our plans to Karaoke but we probably will find a more lenient campground to stay at next time we decide to escape the city. I mean, who doesn't wanna do karaoke? ‍ TL;DR Cabins are nice, beds are NOT. WiFi is spotty at best. Pool is small. Views are nice. Poorly communicated rules are NOT NICE.

I paid over $3000 at the time, signed all the paperwork, rental agreements, etc. A couple of months before the travel, I called them to confirm and was shocked to hear they had no record of my upcoming stay, despite my reservations continuing to show on Vrbo. Apparently, they no longer managed the property. But when they gave up the property and the booking, they didn't transfer, inform me or refund any money! After many emails and calls, they finally refunded my money with no apologies or anything extra to make up for the mistake. Now I was in a bad spot finding a place to stay for my family since all places were booked and prices greatly elevated due to the upcoming eclipse travel demand. I finally found alternatives that ended up costing a lot more, not to mention the inconvenience of searching and moving between places. Finally, after our travel I got emails from these guys thanking me for our stay and asking for 5-star reviews (obviously we couldn't say there). It was pouring salt on the wound after the extra expense and inconvenience they caused! Either they are completely incompetent and unprofessional, or they are involved in scams to make extra money, and whatever the case they should be avoided at all costs!
