I recently gained word from the Illuminati society that he was hiding out in America. I pondered my decision to leave Spain. I travelled to America and upon my arrival, I was told he has fled to a small nation called Oklahoma and was living in secret in town called The Broken Arrow... Again, I transversed the rugged terrain and arrived at this strange new place. The roads were not dirt, the buildings are made of some object called bricks. I began my search along a road called Main Street. The natives were staring at me and frightened of me. I guess they never seen a Spaniard with a glorious sword at his waist. Finally, parched and weary, I see a sign that was most welcoming. A pub! That is what I need. Surely, the bar winch can give me the gossip about this tiny town. I enter and the entire establishment pauses. They turn to me and just stare. I walk to the winch and I ask for a small lagen of their finest ale. I take a sip and ask what this wonderful drink was and she answered me "Budweiser". Well, this Budweiser filled my belly immediately and I then procure her name. Hello Nicole, My name is Inigo Montoya. By chance have you meet a man with six fingers on his right hand? He goes by the name Count Rugen. She asks me if I am Ok.. I tell her that You know, it's very strange. I have been in the revenge business all of my life. I proceed to draw her a picture of the Count and ask if he looks familiar. Again, nothing but failure. I then procure the services of the patrons and ask if they have seen him. Again nothing, until a gentleman named Vizzini says he is a Sicilian procure and a man with superior intellect. He gave me a wise proverb to live by... Never get in a Land War with Asia.... We talked for awhile and shared many ales at this fine pub. The door girl was rude and spoke to my group with an unnecessary attitude, seemingly just because we were younger. She questioned our valid IDs in a way that felt disrespectful and accusatory, which really set a negative tone before we even got inside. Once we made it in, we approached the front bar where a bartender--who I believe was named Michael based on what others were calling him--completely ignored our group. Instead of acknowledging us, he chose to carry on conversations with others and eventually left the bar altogether without saying a word. Thankfully, we decided to try the back bar, and that completely turned things around. The bartender in the back was wonderful--super attentive, friendly, and helped us pick the best drink options for our group. Her professionalism and great service are what made us decide to stay. However, one final issue stood out: after sitting in the back area for about 20 minutes, we saw the same front bartender, Michael, exit an employees-only room, and as he opened the door, a strong smell of smoke filled the air. It was unpleasant and surprising, especially since we thought Sharky's was a non-smoking establishment. Overall, the night had its ups and downs. We then ordered the petite filet (Medium) and Brussel sprouts and put a chocolate cake on order "to go". Highly recommend all of the above. The chocolate cake is "go big or go home" for sure. I'm an avid traveler to Tulsa, at least twice a week. At first I used to go to Home Team & TGIF…read morebar, but their service is absolutely horrible. Not sure why some of these people are still working there especially since it's the hospitality industry but it seems the management is content with it so they refuse to hire new staff or make changes. As for the Home Team, there are 4-5 people working and the servers/bartenders are usually gossiping or taking their time to come to you for service. Drinks are bad, Food is no good and service is really really bad. No smiles, no eye contact and no human interaction! As for TGIF ....Literally the WORST bartender ever, I believe his name is Dustin or Curtis or something, (older guy with really really bad teeth ! yuk) He ranted about how much he hates working for this company, he makes the most money, better than everyone around him & that he is the best bartender in the world. I've traveled all around the world and I can tell you he is extremely delusional and he is by far the WORST bartender I've ever ever had!! There was a few weeks, that on purpose I brought my own food just to avoid going to either of these places but as soon as they opened the Sam Adams bar in the C wing, I was so excited to see a new face! Unfortunately my first impression of the Sam Adams bartender (Chris) was negative. Poor guy had no clue how to make a Bloody Mary or even how to pour a proper draft beer. He seems out of place at the bar and he has zero passion to be a bartender. He said it was just a "gig" for him and that if it wasn't for the money, he would rather do something else. Almost forgot his mom is the supervisor so makes sense why he is there. He told me he was just hired without any experience at the bar, he used to throw out the trash for the airport..Go Figure ! Not sure why a company like HMS allows inexperienced bartenders to work at an international airport with hundreds of people traveling, but again I guess it's because the majority of people that work for the company are all buddies. So I stopped going to the Sam Adams bar until I walked by there last Friday and saw a new face. She greeted me promptly and served me within minutes. She made me an amazing Bloody Mary and she was very attentive. The bar was busy but she worked her space like a professional!! She had great conversation and she was well informed with Tulsa. It was such a delight spending time with her and I highly recommend this bar (when she's working). I travel twice a week to Tulsa and having a great bartender makes my trip less stressful. I believe she only works on Friday and Sunday. Would be great if she would work other days and even at the Home Team, they really need the help ! Everyone that I know that has been to the other bar would never go again. This company needs more bartenders like (Marisa) !!! I created this account just so that I can share my experience. Cheers !
