They might not carry the book of the moment that TikTok insists that you read right now, but they do have a great selection of books you might not find on the shelves at a chain bookstore. (And you can always make a special order.) Spend some time browsing and you're sure to find something you hadn't known you needed to read! All of their books are new, and there are some reduced-price items available. The staff is knowledgeable and super friendly without hovering, they have not one but TWO gorgeous cats, they host a monthly book club and other fun events, there's a loyalty program, and they do a lot for the community. Indie bookstores are thin on the ground in this part of the state and I was thrilled to find Keaton & Lloyd just a short drive from Utica. They back room is used clothing and antique fabrics, and DOES have a fitting room! There's a room for kids and teens too. Soothing jazz was playing, the antique rugs made everything feel welcoming. There are several rooms full of used books in various categories. Everything was labeled and easy to navigate.
