As we have been away from home for a few weeks I was all too glad to give him a few scratches and pet his silky ears. We had a B and B package that included a 5 course meal one night and breakfast both days. The food was excellent and very filling. For dinner there were meat, fish and vegetarian offerings, and the fried potatoes served family style were divine. I had the duck entree and it was so moist and tender that it nearly fell off of the bone. Breakfast has yogurt, cereal and baked items as a buffet, and a full offering of eggs and other cooked to order items as well. Very satisfying. If you go, be sure to take the short walking paths to the water. Tyson will accompany you and be thrilled if you throw his stick into the water for a game of fetch. Another path will take to see the resident pigs who literally squeal with delight if you feed them leafy greens you find on the path. The suites are beautiful with comfy beds, but we were hardly in them as there is so much to do and see in the area.

On the way in to this hotel there's a sign that says something along the lines of 'you are now…read moreentering a stress free' zone. So true. This is one of the most chill places I've ever had the privilege of staying. The rooms are small but incredibly comfortable despite the dodgy plumbing. We booked in for three nights on a bed, breakfast and dinner package with 3 other couples on the bank holiday weekend in June. We had a blast. The food is magnificent. The breakfast alone sets the tome for the day and dinner is a delight. Nothing fancy. Just good wholesome food, beautifully presented and with well drilled and attentive staff. Relax at any time during the day in several day rooms with coffee or booze more or less on tap. Live music at night in the bar after dinner leading to a sing song ranging from Irish ballads to ABBA ensure a relaxing, no hassle weekend. During the day, there is so much to see and do in the beautiful Connemara countryside within easy striking distance of the hotel. Must see tourist destinations such as Kylemore Abbey and chic food trucks such as The Misunderstood Heron in nearby Letterfrack have to be experienced. Experience also the grounds in the immediate vicinity for a bracing walk in the afternoon or even a dip in the sea right next to the hotel. For the less adventurous, the hotel, has a heated outdoor swimming pool as well. Given that it was an all-in package it was incredibly good value in my opinion. Highly recommended. Will definitely return. It's a minimum 4.5 hour drive from Dublin so need at least 3 nights to get the full chillax experience.

The room was nice, except that it was so hot and without air conditioning, it was a bit tough sleeping that night. Since it is such an old building, not everything is perfect. Our bathroom door wouldn't close. There was a nice Preseco party and a discussion of the history of the building, which was fun and interesting. They took pictures of everyone and had them sitting at your table in the dining room. After that, we went to dinner where our party was seated at a large round table which was nice so that we could see and talk to everyone. The menu was interesting and I had been craving chicken and was happy to find it there. They brought all 11 meals at once and presented them. Nice touch! Chicken was tasty. Afterwards, we had drinks at the bar and played some snooker (we kind of made up our own rules). The bartenders were very friendly. We had breakfast thr next morning which was nice.

We attended the Monday evening prosecco reception and brief history talk, which was great fun from a social standpoint, marvelously entertaining (one of the owner's has the gift of gab in a great way), and educational at the same time. Grounds are lovely, and we were plenty comfortable. Staff are predictably wonderful and accommodating. Charming place to stay if you're in this part of Ireland.

This place was recommended by a friend who stayed recently and it did not disappoint, it pitches itself as luxury budget accommodation and it was just that, cheap at just €50 for double room en-suite per night and had all the comforts and cleanliness I look for in a hotel but with our active itinerary we wanted to be close to the action yet not in a hostel! Owner Mike and the staff really make this place special, warmly welcome and throughout our stay, were lovely and genuine. They offered great advice on local hiking trails plus some tips on cycling routes which I'm so glad they did, Alan's recommendation on a route for cycling of the Connemara Loop ended in such a scenic trail with lakes and mountain back drops. There is an on site restaurant and bar too which is; 1. Great Value 2. Amazingly Tasty and Portioned well 3. Cosy place to unwind after activities Will be coming back here for sure and already gave this place a mention to a colleague wanting to see the best of Connemara this summer. Keep up the great work folks, see ye again soon :-)

From the small back deck you can look over this town all the way to the high cliffs that drop into the ocean, creating picturesque views of the orange, red and pink sunset. We arrived to a small sign personally welcoming us. Niall and Darra treated us like family while we stayed at their house and even dined at their table. They were personally acquainted with the entire area and gave us honest recommendations for spending our days there. We were able to see the Cliffs without crowds because of their directions. We then had the perfect dinner of local food at Roadford House where we walked along stonewalls past cows, horses, and sheep to the intimate dining room overlooking pastures. We ended the night by enjoying local music at O'Connor's Pub just a minute walk from the Sea View. We would highly recommend staying at the Sea View for at least a few nights on your trip to Ireland. They contract with local tour guides to pick you up if you wish to take an island tour. The front desk is pretty strict about check-in and didn't let us check in before 3PM even though we were on the 10:30AM ferry that got in around 11:30AM, but they do let you store your luggage behind the front desk. P.S. They tend to have a lot of weddings at this hotel as there are banquet tents, so be prepared for potential parties (bachelor or bachelorette) on certain weekends.
