I can't say enough wonderful things about this school and its teachers! My son had such an amazing experience here the environment was caring, patient, and filled with love. Every single teacher went above and beyond to make him feel seen, supported, and confident. A special thank-you to Miss Fran, who was truly like a second mother to my son. Her kindness, understanding, and genuine care made all the difference in his growth and happiness. It's rare to find teachers who love their students like their own, and this school is full of them. The learning Tree feels like my son's second home. He is non-verbal, as a result I was worried about sending him to school because I know he wouldn't be able to express himself to me if something happened . However, the first day I took him to the school the entire staff make me feel safe and I have nothing to worry about. Ms. Samantha the supervisor email about any change in my son's behavior, she also console my son when he is crying. She put him to sleep on her lap . The professors are wonderful, I don't know how to described them but they are amazing. They open their arms to welcome my son every time I drop him off to school, a lot of love for the kids. This it's the worse day care ever. I remove my son the teacher name dawn it's so evil, the kids were scare to do something, been in that teacher room is like to be at the hospital very depressing. The school it's very dirty most of the kids are sick or coughing, the teacher name dawn doesn't have manners very rude and very low level of education as far as I can see. If you going to same your child there be careful with the women it's evil. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. The Learning Tree located on Francis Lewis Blvd ( sister location to Peek a Boo in Elmhurst) . My son was going to this facility for 1 1/2 years. Since I've been there the turnover is ridiculous- they do not paid their employees ( A FACT not an assumption) . My son wasn't given his lunch ( several times) because the teacher and TA were too busy socializing and not doing their jobs). I spoke with his teacher Miss Liz about the lunch situation twice- and still she didn't fix the problem- STRIKE 1 On 8/4/2017, supposedly a fellow student threw a chair and it hit my son. On Monday morning (8/7/2017) I went to the Learning Tree to find out why - my husband or myself wasn't called, no incident report was in his lunch bag and no one informed grandpa when he picked up my son. Nadine the director, informed me she will investigate and call me back. I decided to stayed until I got answers, supposedly there was a report filled out by TA ( a TA whose child is in the same class she works in) , personal I think this is a conflict of interest. Per the director Nadine and owner Jeanie,the report wasn't given to me because there was no supervisor was on duty on 8/4/17. As for calling parents- it was an error made by the staff. I asked to see the video from that day- just to ease my mind. I was told by Nadine and Jeanie ( the owner) they don't know how to operator the video system....REALLY??? (BULLSHIT) - STRIKE 2 ( what would have happened if a police officer needed to see the video??) I told them I want to see the video and to get a person who knows how to operator the system ( I left a message for Jeanie and Nadine to call me regarding the video- they never called me back- unprofessional) The next day 8/8/17, I went back again....still the incident report was unsigned but was in the log book. THE LEARNING TREE IS FILLING OUT INCIDENT REPORTS AND NOT INFORMING THE PARENTS OF THE INCIDENT. MOST THE REPORTS IN THE BOOK WERE UNSIGNED . I was informed on 8/8/17 that there was a supervisor working on 8/4/17- so how come I didn't get a phone called or a report?? I was given the bullshit excuse that is was family assistant- Jordan to call me- yeah right. I told Nadine and Jeanie, NO, its supervisor, the teacher and the TA that come before the guy who sits at the front desk. Nadine and Jeanie- takes no professional responsibility and passes the blame to support staff. In 8/8/17 I was informed that they can't operate the video system because they ( the owner and director) didn't have or know the password-STRIKE 3. They have to get a tech to get the password. I informed the owner- JEANIE- to get a tech and I will be back to check the video. I waited - called -left a message- no call back again. Called again- informed that Deirdres would call me to set up a time to see the video....I WAS INFORMED BY Deirdres THEY OBTAINED THE PASSWORD BUT NO VIDEO FOR FRIDAY 8/4/17 WAS AVAILABLE BECAUSE THE SYSTEM ONLY STORES FOR 24HRS---BULLSHIT- LIARS. I Informed Deirdres and Jeanie they are lying about what really happened on Friday 8/4/17 and I will file a complaint with the Department of Education. I was there on Monday, and its now 5:45pm on a Tuesday you tell me this. COVER UP . On 8/9/17 I picked up my son stuff and informed the school I am waiting for my deposit. I was told finance is working on it but they don't when I will get my check. REALLY!!! On 8/10/17- called Nadine- left a message for call back- no call back- shocking !! Call back again- per Nadine - Jeanie was supposed to take care of it. I called Jeanie- informed by Jeanie that there are procedures that need to be followed and Jordan was supposed to call finance regarding by check- THEY LOVE TO PLAY THE BLAME GAME. I INFORMED JEANIE IF THERE ARE PROCEDURES- WHAT HAPPENED TO MY PHONE CALL OR REPORT.??? SHE SAID THAT "THERE ARE PROCEDURE THAT NEED TO BE FOLLOWED" AND PROCEED TO HANG UP THE PHONE ON ME----TALK ABOUT UNPROFESSIONAL- AS AN OWNER AND EXECUTIVE. I APPRECIATE AND LOVE MISS ROXANNE AND MISS NAFISA FOR TIME AND CARE THEY HAVE FOR THE STUDENTS. THEY CARE AND LOVE UR CHILD LIKE THEIR OWN- WISH THE ENTIRE STAFF WAS LIKE THEM. I am happy that my son is happy in this school. I am very grateful for the rich learning and safe environment. The teachers, receptionists and the director are so caring and friendly and supportive. His teacher has been great at keeping me updated with his progress. My son goes happily in the morning and comes home happily in the afternoon and that makes me very very happy. I was so sad to hear that the old director had left, she was so wonderful and supportive and really know about kids with special needs. They are helpful and accommodating and take the time with each child to really learn about him or her. They need more resources but work best with what they have and really try to see to each child's learning goals. read more

Just recently enrolled my child in this school. So far so good her teacher is very friendly her teachers assistant is also very pleasant the place is clean and the arts and crafts look fun, they provide breakfast for the kids as well as snack and lunch which I think is pretty nice, gives it a public school (board of education) feel and prepares them for what it to come when they begin kindergarten. I look forward to see how much she learns and grows while attending this school. read more

Avoid this place like the plague... i placed my son in this facility 2 summers ago becuase my son's regular daycare had a fire. While here they never opened on time. There was always a line of ppl with their children because a particular person forgot the keys home or went on vacation and didn't pass on the keys or eas at odds with who they were working with. In addition, they require 2 months tuition up front which is fine. HOWEVER, you are to pay to a different company... that was odd. I created the bank check to the learning tree, to which instead of telling me it was the wrong name i paid to, they decided to alter the check... the bank view it as bank fraud and bounced the check. They wouldn't return the check to me until i produced another bank check... everyone knows a bank check is like cash, so the money wasn't in my account nor were they able to cash it any longer. So i ended up having to cough up another $1300 plus bounce fee to get my initial $1300 dollars back... this place is a waste once my son completed his 2 months, i withdrew him from the school ...the staff doesn't even like this place, there is a constant influx and departure staff. read more

My son attended over the summer and he had a great time! Everyday he talked about something new he learned and he was excited to go there every day. They did a lot of STEM lessons, science experiments, social emotional support, language, reading and drawing and more. I am very thankful that my son attended! I would give 5 stars if the playground tiles were not weathered and warped where the corners rise up a little, and need replacement in my opinion. However that's the only negative I could think of. Otherwise it's clean and the staff is warm, attentive and interacted kindly with the kids. I've always wanted to make a review inregards to this school. They are contracted by the board of Ed for school hours and also provide daycare. They take special needs and non special needs. If you have a special needs child I would double think sending your child here. Its a shady school. I honestly did not believe they were feeding my child as their food schedule stated. When I went to Indeed and Glassdoor to see what their ex employees had to say and they confirmed everything. They neglect your child in everyway. When I first met Nadine and out my hand out for a handshake she refused and just greeted my child. I was told by the board of ed they were my only option for the moment. After having her in childcare the care taker let out frustration inregards to my special needs child. She also stated I couldn't leave my child pass 5:30 when the daycare is opened until 7pm. There's one caretaker for the special needs and non special needs children? Removed her the first week. Be aware where you're sending your child. Especially to a school that doesn't care to feed ur child. My child did not developed any new vocabulary in this school or learned anything . Its just tablet use and running around.
