We signed our 4 year old son up for the G&T prep group classes on Saturday mornings. We got lucky since there were only 3 students in the class, so they received a decent amount of personal attention. Mr. Dae was his instructor, and he taught them a number of different tips and tricks for approaching the different question categories, which I feel were quite helpful. The coursework is rigorous, as they focus on a different category of question each week, and includes a fair amount of homework, but Clover Prep does an awesome job of building a curriculum that is more challenging than the test itself, to ensure that the students have a confident grasp on each of the concepts by the time they are done with the course. Our son scored a 99. I would definitely recommend Clover Prep, and use them in the future. read more

Brought kids to a party here and was immediately impressed by the state of the art facility, classrooms and teaching staff. The teachers were very attentive and throughout the entire time engaged the kids in arts, crafts, exercises that all served to stimulate the mind and body. The kids had a blast! read more

My wife and I could not be any happier with our experience here. Our 4 year old has been attending the preschool alternative program here for about a year now before he moves on to nyc sponsored universal pre-k this fall. Our son originally had Ms. Yolie (before she moved on to another position) and she did a tremendous job working with him on everything from sitting still and focusing to working on his fine motor skills. Ms. Amy picked up right where Ms. Yolie left off, and she is doing a great job. Our son had a pretty good handle on letters, numbers, reading etc, but there is so much more that goes into making a good student that he needed to work on and the staff here is really making strides in many areas. Ms. Nicole is there as well and does a great job. The student to teacher ratio is unheard of. I'm not sure what the maximum is, but many days it's better than 3 to 1. The facility is brand new and extremely clean (by far the cleanest we have encountered). This seems like a relatively minor thing, but they really do an amazing job here compared to other places. The classroom has an enormous touch screen that is at the kids height and used during lessons throughout the day. I don't know how they keep my son away from that thing, but they've got it under control. The gym in the back is a great place for the kids to run around. We get emails every few weeks or so with a number of pictures and videos of the kids. That's nice to forward on to the grandparents. I know other places use "kid tracking" apps and have daily updates - that seems like overkill, but we've tried it from other places and it's nice to have. Our son missed class today and I thought my wife had called and she thought I called - but the school called me on my cell phone just to make sure everything was ok. The whole reason I've felt compelled to write a review is because our son and daughter have started a full day daycare program on the days when they aren't here. We picked the best place we could find, but it's still not on the same level has this Clover Prep / JEI. Our daughter will be 2.5 this fall and she will start the pre-school alternative program here and stick with it for at least two years prior to NYC pre-school. This place is well worth the money, you should definitely check them out. read more

Not a fun place at all. This is the Fresh Meadows one I am speaking of in NYC. Given packets every day without any formal teaching. Very strict and mean teachers. It's boot camp, not summer camp. Most kids here just go because their parents make them go. I feel bad for sending my daughter here. She hated it and so did many other kids. You pay over a grand for nothing. They take them to the same old park every day and there are only a few trips. Not worth the money. DON'T SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. I repeat do not send your child here. read more

This is a new, well-run, and fun learning place for children. My kids recently attended the mid-winter break mini camp, and they had a great time. They learned about the rainforest through various activities and even built their own little biosphere. There is definitely a lot of thought put into what to teach children, as well as how to teach it to make the material interesting, educational, and accessible. The facility itself is new and feels very welcoming. The seating / waiting area is filled with books that would capture any child's eye. I will definitely be signing up my kids for the spring break mini-camp! read more

My 3-year old son attended preschool and summer camp here. As this was his first experience in a school/group setting there were some expected growing pains early on. The teachers and staff were extremely patient, helpful and attentive in making him feel safe and at ease. During the year, they made lots of arts and crafts projects, exposed him to outdoor activities and prepared him well for the next stage of his education. I brought my son here initially to enjoy science. I started him in Fast trac kids which he enjoyed for one year. I was truly impressed that 2-3 year olds could stay seated and interested in learning for two hours. The site videotapes everything so you can see your child learn. It is pretty impressive! I enrolled him to take the G&T test to see how he ranked amongst other children. He started the G&T course at Clover prep and he scored 98% on his exam. He is intelligent but I feel that this course really prepared him. With this score, he got into PS300 Citywide G&T program. Although we had decided not to send him to the school for a variety of reasons, I was truly impressed with how successful this learning center is. He is currently enrolled in JEI right now and is now 5 years old. He is beyond a 1st grade level in English and Math. I like the structure of this program and the ability of letting a child advance at their own pace. read more
