Both of my kids have attended Tutor Time in Levittown since they were about 4 months old. It's a…read morewonderful feeling to drop off your kids and know they are loved by their teachers. To have peace of mind while I'm working is one of the best things to have. My daughter went into kindergarten reading and writing because of the quality teaching that is provided. My son is almost 4 and is now starting to pick words out of books to read himself! The management team is very receptive to any questions...I've never had any issues that were not immediately resolved!

My child was ABUSED at Tutor Time and we are still waiting on the video even though we were told…read morethere was a 48-hour turn around time. Let's start at the beginning, the tour. The director Christina should win an Oscar for her acting skills. She will promise you the world and pretend that she cares about your child. We wanted a daycare closer to home so we decided to switch our child over to Tutor Time. Once your child is enrolled, you actually see the horrific practices of this establishment. There is absolutely no structure. Children do whatever they want. There is always a different adult in the room. Additionally, they are not compliant with the state laws, which requires 1 teacher for every 5 toddlers. My child was often in a room with 7 other children and 1 unfamiliar face. As previous reviews mentioned, this is a puppy mill that only wants your money. During an 8 hour day, my child's diaper was only changed twice. State law requires that diapers be changed every 2 hours. One of the many teachers we saw often spoke down to the children, "you guys are three and you don't know how to place your hands on the wall?" We often walked past the infant room in the afternoon and saw babies crying hysterically because no one was paying attention to them. One day, another baby was biting the edge of a bookshelf as she was teething. No one stopped her from biting the bookshelf and its varnish coating. My maternal instinct knew something was wrong but I just needed my little one to last a few weeks until June. I asked my brother to pick up my little one from Tutor Time because I was going to be at work past my regular schedule. My brother and his girlfriend went in before my usual pick up time and upon walking to the classroom they saw the teacher, Janet, DRAGGING MY CHILD BY ONE ARM ACROSS 5 FEET OF CARPET. THIS DISGUSTING HUMAN BEING ATTEMPTED TO PICK UP MY CHILD BY ONE ARM AND DROPPED HIM. My brother immediately told the director, who did not remove Janet from the classroom for another two hours. Christina, the director, was suddenly worried about ratio issues. Compliance is never a concern for them but that day it was. Furthermore, Christina forced herself to cry, in an attempt to show empathy. We were promised the video evidence within 48 hours. We are way past the 48-hour deadline and still waiting for answers. Run far away from this place. I would never want this to happen to any other child.

We have absolutely loved our children's time here at Tender Garden. Our son attended Miss Lori's…read moreclass last year for UPK, and we decided to also send our daughter a few days a week for pre-school. Miss Lori was like a magician, our little boy went from kicking and screaming the whole way to school, to the end of the year where he loved learning and was proud to be graduating to Kindergarten. He absolutely adored Miss Lori and she prepared him and all the students SO well for Kindergarten. We also took advantage of the Kindergarten prep class over the summer to keep everything fresh in his mind, which was very affordable. This year our daughter attended full day PreK in Miss Catherine's class. We could not have been luckier to get Miss Catherine as our daughter's teacher. She is kind, caring, and SUCH a talented teacher. You can tell she truly loves these children as though they were her own. The wall outside her hallway is always lined with projects, and they are changed out every few days; it's clear she does a TON of fun projects with these kids. My daughter has learned so much and has come so far. She also took the time after class each day to speak with parents about their children's progress. Miss Catherine has the biggest heart of any teacher I've ever known and we will truly miss her. Miss Yvonne, the owner of Tender Garden, really knows what she's doing. She runs a phenomenal school. It's clear she only hires the best people to work here, and we are going to miss this place. We are grateful our children spent this time here, where they learned and grew so much.

Our daughter was recently diagnosed as being on the spectrum. When we had her in the 3 year old…read moreprogram she was evaluated to receive speech twice a week. Some days she was extremely difficult for my wife in the morning and had to go to the program in her pjs. Mind you it was 3 hour sessions, three days a week. We had a teacher Ms. Diane who not only called my wife about this; she seemed annoyed and disgusted on the phone. One day she went ahead and called my wife in her seemingly annoyed tone stating "You need to have your kid evaluated." My wife replied with "she has been.. hence why she gets speech there twice a week". One day I picked up my daughter and overheard the teacher say to another teacher "I have to remind myself that these are not third and fourth graders... That's what I'm used to teaching". That's nice; then go back and teach those grades since you're not willing to be equipped to handle younger kids developing with speech, behavior issues, or possible occupational therapy being with needed. Speaking to some other parents whose kids were in my daughters particular class agreed that this teacher and this place should NEVER be allowed to take in any kids with an IEP of any kind. My daughter hated going there at such a young age. Let's fast forward a year to UPK in Island Trees school district; NIGHT AND DAY difference! My daughter's teachers were so amazing (Ms. Tina and Ms. Gabby to name a few) that we all were upset when the school year ended. Just goes to show you some teachers are amazing and some are not. I'm a civil servant and you either get someone on the phone that will do their job and assist anyone anytime or someone who just shows up to work.

Teachers leaving mid year, due to the challenging behavior from the director and teachers. The only qualified educator is the director, everyone else has just had experience around children. There was never a proper curriculum and the director went by the day or what they felt like was "appropriate". Mostly deserted school with only a couple of students. Not culturally appropriate towards other students nor staff, not understanding that some people speak different languages. This is their structure precisely, the hours ran from 8:45am-11:45am three days a week due to low numbers. The teachers couldn't even bother to ask them to walk, but have the students running, and eloping. Unfortunately early intervention is not a thing here because they assume that they can just take away autism. Please with the resources we have today, it's important to value your children and their learning. None of the students had any fine gross motor skills, they have trouble with words, shapes. Most projects are being done by the teacher so that's why they look amazing. It is unfortunate that the don't even know what curriculum they teach, I've practiced Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and even the Waldorf approach. None of those approaches were practiced at this church school. Genuinely this place is questionable and I recommend elsewhere, for the sake of your child's readiness.

She loved all of her teachers, loved all the monthly themes and arts and crafts. She ALWAYS came out of school with a smile on her face. As a parent, I felt very comfortable knowing Peanut's was a safe environment with teachers and Directors who truly care about the well being of all of their students. My son is currently enrolled in the 2's program. He has grown so much since the start of the school year; I am already sad thinking about when my Peanut days are over. My son LOVES his teacher and co-teacher. When the teachers greet his class in the morning, my son lights up, smiles so big and rushes to get into the gate. As a Mom of a 2 year old boy, I couldn't ask for anything more, to see my son so excited each school day. I love that both Directors are involved in the classroom and know all the students names. They have been fair and communicated well over the past three years. Peanut's has become a special place for my kids and I am truly grateful!

Joanne and Johnna are the sweetest, most caring individuals that make you feel super comfortable right from the start. Like most parents, I was extremely nervous about finding the right place for my little guy to spend his days, but the ladies at RSG did everything they could to help us make the transition and gave this super anxious mom peace of mind. I feel very lucky that we found RSG as I know that I am leaving him in a safe, loving and super clean environment each day. You know when your child is happy and it's clear that he looks forward to coming here each day. The follow up and attention RSG gives to each child is simply amazing, you truly feel as if you are apart of a little family here, which makes it feel like so much more than a daycare. They are located on Newbridge Rd just before the on ramp to the SSP. Look quick or you can miss it. The front of the school is deceptive as it hides the large parcel of land and additional buildings that make up South Shore Country Day School and Camp. They have a ton of outdoor space with lots of beautiful trees for shade. They have 2 pools, sports fields, tennis court, playgrounds, vegetable gardens, rabbits, chicks, baby ducks and a full range of programs in music, arts, nature, sports, etc. Kids get a full day of activities and for the older kids attending camp there are also a ton of fun field trips. While the large amount of open space was the initial thing that set them apart from other camps and day schools, the staff of South Shore has blown me away with their friendliness, professionalism and enthusiasm for the kids! Within the first couple days it seemed like everyone knew my son by name and everyone was so welcoming to our whole family. I have 100% confidence that I am leaving my son with a staff of professionals who care and love him. Parents on my block have been sending their kids to South Shore for years and we are thrilled to be continuing the tradition. If you are looking for quality child care and/or camp in the Bellmore area then look no further. South Shore Country Day School and Camp will give your kids the time of their life!
