Unfortunately, this visit was so poor that I'm not sure we'll be back. We ordered the burger and chicken sandwich. The $30 burger was completely raw inside and had an off, almost rancid taste that made it inedible. The chicken sandwich was the opposite, overcooked and burned. Both were listed as coming with house-made fries but instead arrived with basic bagged potato chips. Our server never mentioned the substitution when we ordered or when the food was delivered. We left the majority of both sandwiches on our plates, yet our server never once checked in to ask whether something was wrong. When we did interact with her, she came across as rude and generally unhelpful. We also ordered the brussels sprout Caesar salad, which was extremely disappointing and bore very little resemblance to a Caesar salad. The portions overall were small, and the quality simply did not come close to matching the prices. Our bill for two cocktails, one salad, a chicken sandwich and a burger was $116. I have no problem paying that for a great meal, but given the quality of what we were served, it felt like an incredibly poor value. The cocktails were really the only part of the meal we somewhat enjoyed. To top it off, we were celebrating a birthday and had noted it on our Resy reservation, but there was no acknowledgment whatsoever. I'm especially disappointed because our previous experiences here were excellent. Restaurants can have an off night, but between the nearly inedible food, unexplained substitutions, lack of service and price point, this was far beyond a minor miss. Sadly, after this experience, it's unlikely we'll return.

We were in town for the week & after a long day of traveling & a crappy experience at our hotel,…read morethe Hyatt Regency in Buffalo. We ventured out into downtown area to grab a drink & hopefully find a spot still serving food. We stumbled across House of Charm while searching online info for something nearby. The exterior is unassuming but easy to spot & the delightful interior was funky, fun & welcoming. Music wasn't insanely loud but was there & the number of interesting "charms" sprinkled throughout the establishment were a total gas. My favorite was the deconstructed Barbie parts displayed on small hooks at the end of the bar. The staff was lovely & came over to greet us in a timely manner. Assured us that they still had a late night menu & then we got to have THE BEST SPICY MARGARITAS EVER!!! The paninis were also yummy & we each got a piece of chocolate & a Dum Dum included on our plates for dessert. But seriously! The spicy margarita! Was absolute Fire I love spicy & am often disappointed if I'm trying a Spicy Marg out & about. Even if I ask for extra spicy...it never really is. But this guys Spicy Margarita was AMAZING!! Both myself & my husband (who doesn't love spicy like I do) were able to enjoy the drinks. They were spicy enough that I enjoyed them & the flavor profile was still balanced & delicious so my hubby was also a huge fan. Of all the places we got to try while in Buffalo, House of Charm was by far my favorite!

We stopped for lunch on our leafpeeking trip to northern Pennsylvania. This is the best place we…read morecould identify for 50 miles around. It's a real throwback, the menu is mostly from a 1950's upscale city restaurant. The building is beautiful, a 100 year old Carnegie library. The dining room was largely empty so it's hard to evaluate the service, but our experience was very good, with friendly and responsive service. The judgement on the food was mixed. We had sandwiches (Rachael, pretty good) and BLT, disappointing. Also there was coleslaw (poor), and hot German potato salad (good). The menu is pretty broad with lots of options for appetizers, salads, entrees and sides. The wine list is very limited but of good quality, variety, and attractive prices. I'm giving four stars, based on a grading curve, due to the lack of tolerable options. We'll be back some day.

My wife ordered a Garden salad with grilled chicken. When the salad arrived it had NO CHICKEN, which arrived about 10 minutes later. The chicken had been microwaved and was dry, like chicken jerky. Our water was never refilled. Maybe the server was overwhelmed with the four tables being served. it's unfortunate because it is such a nice looking restaurant that we have been to many times before. It will be a long time until we go there again.
