Looking at the reviews this vets seem to have improved considerably…read more I used them around 10 years ago. The turning point for me was when I rang in as an anxious pet owner asking about treatment for my dog, the receptionist thought she put me on hold. She then proceeded to use every F word possible and scream that she couldn't F'ing cope with me. Her supervisor came on the phone and I advised her that I had heard everything and she could only apologize. I immediately changed vets and informed them that I could not leave any animal of mine in their care if that is how they spoke about their clients! I also took a Terrapin in for treatment which I had found, the vet looked and hinted they were not funded for wildlife but said the Terrapin looked alright. I then rang the RSPCA who took the poor creature to a sanctuary, it died en route. Coincidentally they then took it to Peak Vets who diagnosed extreme muscle waste. So not alright then? Still they didn't have to treat it as it was dead. The Partner Steve rang me to ask me to clear my bill, no apology! He has since retired. So it was 10 years ago, still a lot of the staff I spoke to are still there. Sorry but had I not heard how that receptionist/vet nurse and her disgusting and disturbing outburst then I would have been none the wiser. Lets hope they have changed!

Both vets obviously love animals and they are wonderfully reassuring to us worried owners too. The reception staff are also extremely friendly and are on-hand to answer enquiries by email as well if you haven't got an urgent problem. I would definitely recommend these to anyone in the area.

After being an inpatient for two days he came home and slowly recovered and is now a very well and happy cat looking forward to Christmas with his family. We are so glad to have him fit and well again, specially his 'Dad". A big thank you to everyone who looked after him.

I used Willow Vetinary Clinic for 21 years without any problems. During the last 8 years, my male…read morecat had pancreatitis. I was not able to get insurance for him, so had to pay for all treatment myself. I have a number of rescue cats. I paid all bills over the last 21 years without question. During 2010/2011 my then 13 year old developed a knee problem. I was concerned with regard to her treatment. she had a plastic knee which cost over £500.00 with the cage I was advised to buy and other things. she had to be kept in the cage which ended in being a duration of over 6/7 weeks as the hole in her leg did not heal. She was stitched and stapled. no collar was put on at first until WE requested it. Finally, being exasperated I returned to the vet for the 6th time, seeing a different vet, and saying I wanted to leave my cat there until they had sorted out the problem. I had a 4 year old granddaughter and my cats leg was oozing rubbish. I telephoned to see how she was and a very snooty receptionist told me that she had taken so long to heal because I hand't followed their advice. I had! I bought a cage £50.00 another litter tray. kept her in it for far too long. returned to the vet 6 times which cost for the fuel and time off work. I told her this two weeks later I received a letter saying they did not want me as a customer any longer. my husband was livid. I wrote for an explanation and was completely ignored. I contacted them some months later because my pancreatic cat was very ill and they wouldn't treat her. So what point it the Royal College of Vets advising people to contact the vet in the first instance. Once you question anything thats it absolutely shocking treatment and I don't believe they care two hoots about the animals because they would not treat mine even though they knew he could die. Really caring vets if you have nowhere else to go, yes use these Willows in Endon.

We had an awful experience with Ashcroft when our 18 month old Labrador cross dog died 8 days after…read moreher spay. We are pragmatic people and we understand that sometimes animals die unpredictability, so we don't leave this review lightly. We knew our dog was very unwell and getting worse during the 8 days following the operation and we took her back to Ashcroft 3 times during this period and phoned them multiple times too. On the morning of the day she died we were so worried about her and the perceived lack of interest in her from Ashcroft that we arranged our own referral to a specialist, but they needed Ashcroft to assess her for the referral. We told Ashcroft we were worried for the survival of our dog and asked Ashcroft for an emergency appointment. Ashcroft assessed her as not an emergency, so her appointment was pushed to the next day. She died overnight that same night. We put a complaint in to Ashcroft about how they had treated us when we tried to raise our concerns about our dog. Our complaint was not about the fact that she had died, it was about how we felt efforts made to save her life were poor and we felt we had not been listened to when we knew she was very ill. Ashcroft quickly engaged a third party Defence Service and refused to answer any of our questions about our dog's death. What was even more devastating was that without even addressing the issue we raised which was regarding how we were treated during her illness, the majority of their response to us inferred that we had allowed our dog to eat poison, or even worse been fed something poisonous by us. This was truly an awful thing to do to a pet owner. I can assure you that we absolutely did not let our dog eat poison and in fact there were other possible explanations for her death, but Ashcroft and their Defence Service refused to speak to us about any of it and did not even look at her clinical history from her previous vets. We had no idea how to get the answers we wanted so we hired an Independent Expert Vet to review our case and he gave us our answers. He also independently looked at our complaint and found that there were multiple occasions where the veterinary practice and our recollection of events and conversations differed, and unless there is audio or video recording present in the consulting areas or of the telephone conversations then our complaints could not be investigated further. This is despite both my husband and I being present at the vet appointments and having the same recollection of events and conversations. The Independent Expert Vet also stated that it was clear from the many appointments and phone calls that we were very concerned about our dog, and that he believed it is likely that many veterinary surgeons would have clearly advised taking blood samples or admitted our dog for supportive care during the appointments leading up to her death. We have no way of knowing whether her life could have been saved had that happened. However, the bar for professional negligence had not been reached. We then asked the RCVS's impartial mediation service the VCMS for help to conclude our complaint, but Ashcroft immediately refused to engage in the mediation. If you use this vets I would recommend you record all appointments using a voice recorder because without this you have no way to prove what was said to you during your appointments and phone calls without recordings. Ashcroft are not a local independent business they are owned by a large company called Independent Vetcare Ltd who own 100s of vet practices in the UK https://ivcevidensia.co.uk/
