The Boujee Bee Hair Salon

I have never been happier with my hair! Due to hormone issues, my hair was very, very thin as you…read morecan see in the picture. Tanci colored my hair and added extensions. Because of her knowledge, my hair is thicker and healthier than it has ever been. The color products she uses are gentle on my fragile hair. I also purchase my products from the salon as they keep my hair healthy and easy to style at home. She is certified with "Great Lengths" For my extensions. They are keratin tipped and have also helped strengthen my hair. I love the Boujee Bee and Tanci.

I've been wanting to write this review for over two years. Tears and anger kept me from being able…read moreto sit down and compose my thoughts. When I lived in Austin, I started seeing Tanci for haircuts and decided to get subtle highlights. Before proceeding, I made it very clear that my hair was highly susceptible to damage. I even shared that a perm 15+ years ago had caused such severe breakage that I had to get a pixie cut. Since then, I had only used semi-permanent color and kept my hair one length, just below my shoulders, to maintain its health. Tanci assured me the highlights would be fine. However, the result was much lighter than I expected--not what I asked for, but I still liked it. Then, within two weeks, I experienced severe breakage. And by severe, I mean over half my hair snapped off, leaving strands anywhere from an inch to four inches long. I was in complete shock. When I called Tanci, she asked me to come back in. I wasn't blaming her; I just needed to understand how this had happened. Her response? "Some hair just can't take the process." That was it. No warning beforehand, no accountability. It wasn't until I went to another stylist for a consultation that I learned the truth--my hair had been horribly overprocessed. What followed was not just a bad haircut but a long and expensive recovery process: a drastic short cut with bangs, hundreds of dollars spent on treatments and products every month, and years of careful trimming to grow out the damage. Even now, my hair is only chin-length as I work to even it out. If you're considering chemical treatments from Tanci, ask yourself: Are you prepared for a life-changing haircut? Because that's exactly what you might get.
