That is Nee! I have been meaning to write this review for a few years. I had my initial permanent makeup done on my top eyelid (eyeliner) and eyebrows in 2014 in San Francisco where I live. I have a disability with my arms so Iimit what they do for me. Makeup was first on the list. Over the years the eyeliner and parts of the eyebrow tattoo were starting to fade. I wanted a touchup. However, I didn't want it done in SF again, where there are tons of people, but not necessarily the depth of experience. When I was home visiting family and friends in WI I found Nee. She was trained young in China where these techniques are well known and practiced. I am so glad she moved to WI, married, started her family and brought her craft and professionalism with her. Due to Brooke departing paths with this spa I was willing to give another staff member a shot as I have always had good encounters here. I showed up for my appointment, and was told by the staff member she did not feel comfortable and would not be able to do my service. If clients are required to call 24 hours in advanced for cancellations to respect the staff members time the staff member should be able to do the same for the client. I felt as though my time was not valued by this business. I ended up going elsewhere, and will be from now on.

Since my appointment was at 9, and they opened at 9, I called a few minutes earlier hoping to get a person, since I didn't know how quickly they check messages, and I didn't want anyone wondering why I hadn't showed. The receptionist was beyond rude, saying she couldn't understand why I didn't call earlier than 5 minutes before my appointment since they had a 24 hour cancelation policy. I pointed out I hadn't planned on being sick so couldn't have called 24 hours in advance,  and called as early as I thought I could given my appointment was at 9, and they open at 9. She then went on to say I should have called earlier and left a message or texted because the owner always checks messages and they could have gotten other people in because there were a lot of people waitlisted. She had the snottiest tone in this 3 minute phone call where she fought with someone who was clearly sick.  I told her I was so upset with how she treated me,  didn't appreciate it,  was offended,  and wouldn't be coming back.  She just hung up on me.  I reached out to the owner,  who according to this receptionist,  is constantly checking messages but it's been crickets. For all of you who came after 9 who would have been exposed to a nasty bug if I would have come,  just know they apparently would rather I have kept the appointment than worry about your health.

As someone who's new to this, I was a bit nervous, but Niki's Christian values immediately stood out to me, which was a huge green flag. Coming from a large family in the beauty industry, I know that things don't always turn out perfectly the first time. One of my lashes didn't curl as expected, and Niki offered to send me home with a relaxer just in case I felt it was too much. Being my usual self, I declined, but I did end up needing it. Despite that, Niki went above and beyond--answering all my questions, dropping off some product at my work, and even including some unexpected thoughtful items. She was so kind, always willing to help and communicate, and reassured me that next time she'd adjust the process to better suit my lashes, as they responded too well to the product. (This tends to happen with my hair too, and my cousins, who own salons, have said the same.) I'd give her a 100/10 recommendation and will definitely be returning! With amazing services like this, you never truly know how something will turn out until you try it. Niki's salon is adorable, and as a bonus, her roommate does nails for the elderly and differently-abled individuals! Niki, you are truly a Godsend. I felt so comfortable picking your salon, even without knowing what to expect!

During the conversation I was told we would get booked for my mother's birthday, she would show the photos to stylists, find the best fit, and return my call shortly. By 3/25 there had not been a call back so I text the number asking for an update. The following day 3/26 I received a response "Hello! I'm so sorry-I missed a message from the girls and I didn't realize. I've also had a sick little one so I'm so sorry for the delay in responding. I thought someone was reaching out to you but they had asked if you want it done on the 28th or just before/around that date? We don't have availability on the 28th Again, so sorry about that!" I responded understanding stating "no worries, things happen" and asked if they had opening the next two days. Then on 3/27 I received a response that they had no openings. If this is how you operate a business, shame on you. I found a better salon where someone stayed late just to take good care of my mother on her birthday after you seriously dropped the ball. She looks wonderful.

She was able to fit me in on short notice. The salon has a convenient location on College Ave. right next to a jerk restaurant! Very easy to get in and out. The sign can be seen from the street. You won't miss it. Just opened in April it has a crisp, modern vibe. Everything is set up nicely and doesn't feel cramped. They have a small waiting area. The chairs are situated with space between them. Nothing worse than hearing everything the person next to you is saying while trying to talk to your stylist. The wash area has good size bowls. No straining my neck to reach the water! I didn't tour the whole salon but I'm sure the other areas are just as nice. The salon provides many services including cut, color, lash treatments, brow treatments (wish I lived in WI, I'd love to try microblading), men's services as well as bridal services. I'm cheering for this salon to do well! They've got a great location, beautiful interior, wonderful services and reasonable prices.
