All of my 3 kids have gone there and the friends and memories they have made from their journey will forever be a part of their lives and my own. The facility and staff are so hands-on and get so involved in making the student's life as wonderful as possible. As I watched each of my kids throughout their individual seven-year experiences I found myself aw at how much they had learned throughout their journeys. The school has something to offer everyone and is a wonderful environment for kids to learn and evolve into smart, confident, and caring human beings. After my last child left I truly missed everything about the school from the fun traditions to the festive seasonal parties held for parents. So, if you are looking for a place o send your child, JTD is truly the place to look if you want lifelong bonds and memories.

So if you want to go to a nice private school in California you shouldn't go here

Wonderful school! After touring many, many middle/high schools in LA, we were so happy our child…read moregot accepted to Geffen Academy as it was our first choice (even though it's known to be an extremely selective school). Geffen is very academic, but without being cut throat competitive. The teachers are accessible, communicative and genuinely care about their students. The weekly wellness class focuses on things like mental well-being and stress management. I wish every school offered this. The emphasis is on the students at Geffen, not their wealthy or famous parents. School culture and decisions made by the administration are based on scientific research in order to provide a thoughtful and humane school experience. There is also a lot of diversity at this school - not just by race and culture, but by interests too. It's a great fusion of kids and it seems everyone can find people with similar passions and hobbies. My kid is very happy here and loves his school. He says everyone is really kind and the classes are interesting and engaging. He even likes the food!

As he goes off to college, I have no doubt that the knowledge, curiosity, persistence and leadership he has finessed during his time here, will not only push him to higher heights but will be the tools that he will continue to use to change his world & those he encounters for better. The Head of School leads with wisdom, compassion, empathy, purpose and strength which trickles down to the entire administration. The school has been very instrumental not only in my son's academic journey but in his overall life, tremendously shaping him into the fantastic man he has become. The school truly cares about the students mental health. Although we have completed our academic journey, Geffen Academy will always be the fabric we wear daily. We will forever be a part of this amazing top notch school & community. Once a bruin always a bruin! GO BRUINS

Great education but after you graduate They treat you like a stranger. the security guard yelled at…read moreme and told me she was going to call the police if I parked. i started crying I was so shocked and felt so disrespected. I remembered her name and approached her with a smile, telling her I wanted to send thank yous to old teachers. She said she was going to call the police. I paid $60K a year from 6th grade to senior year FOR THIS TREATMENT? I am so disrespected and offended. I have been calling the school for days so I instead went in person for efficiency. I thought I would be greeted with a smile And open arms. .... Also one comment on the education - some girls upon graduation are so entitled and privileged and think they are the smartest people in the world. I too was on a high horse after graduation, but my university humbled me quickly. Archer is a bubble that is not reflective of the real world. I am Israeli and girls have texted me saying that "the Israeli Palestinian conflict is not complex" - i took a class on this conflict in college, and no one would ever claim that the conflict is NOT COMPLEX other than a holier-than-though archer that never stepped into the real world~and is too in their own world to hear or engage in another perspective. Hope this helps in your decision. I never thought I would have to badmouth my middle and high school, but the treatment that I receive as An alumni is UNACCEPTABLE. I will never thank an archer person again - because all I was doing was try to write thank you to my teachers as an alumni, and they have kept this information from me. THIS IS BEYOND ME. I was going out of the kindness of MY HEART. I WILL NEVER. EVER. COME BACK. THEY MADE THEIR POINT CLEAR. GOODBYE ARCHER SISTERS. CLASS OF 2019.

Beginning with Madame Haustete, the head of the school, all of the teachers, supervisors, and staff are just the best of the best. It is a nurturing, loving environment paired with a structured yet fun approach to learning. Half of the children's day is taught in French and the other half is in English. We are not French and my son spoke no French when he started and he is now well on his way to being fluent in just one school year. The supervisors and security greet you and your child by name every morning and it is a safe, happy place that my son looked forward to going to every single day. He cannot wait to start first grade in the fall and he says almost on a weekly basis that his school is the best. The lunch provided is prepared by chefs daily and is healthy and balanced - the menu is gourmet! The events throughout the year are so special and the school is very independent meaning parents have the opportunity to volunteer but they are not asking for donations and an excessive amount of your time (like many other private schools that directly ask/demand for donations during the interview process - yuck!) Le Lycee is focused on the well being and education of the children and it shows. It is a diverse group of families that are grounded and it's not about who has what. Everyone is there for the same reason which is to enrich their child with a balanced approach to learning. I am the biggest champion of Madame Haustete and the entire staff at Le Lycee and I'm so grateful my son will be continuing his education at such a wonderful school. Thank you to everyone who made his first year of school truly magical!
