Having two state and two federal returns prepared in one sitting was a little costly but mine are complicated and I wanted them done correctly. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I received refunds from both state and federal. Honestly, I expected to have to pay. Electronic filing was fast and easy, and I received my refunds in about one week. Recently I had to phone Simplified because I could not locate my daughter's return and needed it to complete her FASFA application. I phoned and was told that yes, I certainly could get that document. If I were to pick it up in person, it would cost $10. But Paula told me that she could email it to me for free.
