This year for Christmas I ask for a camera, I had given a picture of the exact camera I wanted and…read morewhere to purchase. Well somehow it was was purchased from a grey haired gentleman at ponds that assured her the camera she was buying was a much better even though they carry the Canon brand. But I was told that if I had ANY ISSUES come down and they would explain the camera for me. I wanted to return it immediately but I was told to give it a few days and try it out and see if I liked it. So New Year's Eve I tried the camera, all the pictures came out looking quite strange in fact I myself came out looking like A different nationality. I mean some people like looking as if they slathered self tanner all of them but not me. So I decided that day I was returning that camera. But life doesn't always go as planned things and with a constant string of things going wrong I wasn't able to make it down to Ponds. I also didn't know I could go ahead five day return policy, that's mainly why I told the person above me the camera to go to the big box store who has a 30 day return policy. Even with saying that, it was a Christmas gift and most of those days in between the date it was bought in the day I got it that was five days. I had no chance with this camera. So I finally made it downtown, drove around for 45 minutes to find a parking spot then to pay for parking. Go inside try to basically explain to the grey hair man why I've taken so long to come to store and explain what my issues were like the camera hijacks my internet and the extremely long transfer times while the house has no internet. But he said that what you get for high quality it's not like your phone. I just wanted help. They agreed to take the camera at a reduced price because it was used, I admit I cried.. I had a head ache and he never said he was the one that originally helped sell this camera. But he very quickly offered a camera that was so much more expensive. I'm stuck with this camera because I got a head injury and I was under so much stress because of my life that I decided to put the camera away and deal when I could. I went in for help was treated poorly because I know nothing about cameras, that's right that's why I was there for help. I'm glad I was there to be ignored for every customer that walked in the door. It explains how you knew I wanted removable lens. I did return to trade in this camera as Mike (grey hair man) had offered a $400 trade in, four days later it dropped to $250 because apparently I paid $550 which I did not, the lady that was spent time explaining cars losing value and cameras can't be sold for much used and I paid $550. Ponds wrote an 8% discount for each item, now most people would think cool 8% off but what a strange number or just the right amount for a tax exempt card. Which is not a discount.

Michaels is a chain of arts and crafts stores that carries a full line of supplies for everything…read morefrom cake decorating to scrap booking to flower arranging to knitting. There is also a classroom where you can learn some new skills and take classes (many of them are great for kids). They also custom framing, if you need that sort of thing done). This Michaels store is a relatively recent addition that was built with the reconstruction of the plaza at 500 Fairway Road South. The store is quite large and the selection quite varied... which leads to the major problem with the store: The staff aren't very helpful. The folks who work here are friendly enough, but it seems that most don't really know all that much about what's in the store. This is compounded by the fact that the store is so large. I understand that the people who work here can't know everything about every craft, but looking for a specific item, we asked around and were told various answers, but eventually we just stumbled upon the item that we wanted ourselves... which leads to the other issue I have with the store: The merchandise is quite expensive. When we did find the item that we wanted, it was really double the cost of the item at other competitive stores. This was mitigated by the fact that, yes, we did receive in our e-mail the 50% off coupon for one item only. You can sign up for their e-mail marketing and receive a 40% or 50% off coupon on a regular basis, but if I have more than one item (or an item that is already on sale, as the coupon does not work for these items) then I'm generally out of luck. Michaels does have one great thing going for it. They are open 7 days a week and open until 9 pm on Saturdays, which is a real plus. When you just need to get your project done, you'll be glad to know that Michaels is there for you in a pinch.

The staff is fantastic, you always get an answer, and some of the staff are experts, in certain subject matter and will give you their time. The prices are great!! There is a lot of merchandise in store that is also in the States and this gives us MORE selection, I love that! In Canada there is such limited, selection in many areas of retail... it is sad! This maybe why I enjoy shopping at Michael's. The house decorative items are great. Yes USE their coupons, and be a smart shopper, you can find the coupons in your flyers or phone. The Cambridge store, I have found needs some improvement in management, seems very old style, and workflow improvements are needed at check out, especially at busy times. Thank you Michaels for your options and products and keeping US CURRENT!!
