the kentlands has been around for decades, with the marketplace also being around for quite some…read moretime, but this marketplace has really grown to include a large chunk of real estate on the premises. most shopping centers include just one main plaza/shopping center/mall, but the kentlands actually has two, if not more (it's so big that it's actually hard to tell!) between the both sides, you'll find your giant supermarket, whole foods market, plenty of restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines, several fitness studios, pet services, sports specialty stores, and more. although i like the variety offered here, parking and driving, and even walking, can be a bit of a pain. the cars go pretty fast, even in the roundabouts, so pedestrians need to be extra careful when crossing the crosswalks!

I arrived early so I walked around a bit and enjoyed the views. I parked in the garage, which is very busy but at least it's free! There's limited street parking and I saw tickets being issued. There's alot to do here. It was a few years since I had been and the additions are great. There's a Courtyard Marriott, AMC theater, Potbelly, Nandos, Auntie Anne's, Fantasticks, Muse Paint Bar, Uncle Julios, Miss Toya's and much more. This could literally be a staycation! Everything all in one here!

The weather was great and most of everyone I had seen walking by were social distancing and trying to wear a mask as much as possible. I would say to just be careful when dining at some of the local restaurants as seating doesn't necessarily appear to be 6 feet apart. By far, this area has one of the best Starbucks locations I've been to. Service is wonderful and the baristas perfect your drinks. Coastal flats is also a very good option for dinner if you're into seafood. Personally, I think Paladar is a bit overpriced but if you want to splurge for one night I would recommend it. There's plenty of parking in the area both street and garage. In my opinion, it appears to be a really safe neighborhood and place to hang out. Would recommend to anyone looking for something to do during this quarantine.

This is such a convenience! And you can also return Nordstrom department store items at a Nordstrom Rack location. However, this does not work the other way around; i.e. items purchased at Nordstrom Rack have to be picked up, and returned, at a Nordstrom rack location. So as of now-this is my go to store location for Nordstrom online purchase pickups! Parking is plentiful, but the lot stays packed with moderate to heavy traffic flow. Walking into the store, there is a huge sign on the back right wall that states "Men's fitting room/Alterations/Online Pick up". I also noticed stickers on the floor pointing in the same direction. However, since I wasn't at all familiar with this location, I walked passed a very small empty counter space and headed towards the wall sign, where another customer and I stood at the entrance of the men's fitting room for 10 mins. There was no one there and no one at the counter. It wasn't until the other customer walked away, and then finally flagged me down to join the line that was now forming at the small empty counter, that I knew where to pick up my orders. Point: it is not an obvious pick up counter, especially if no one is standing there. Also, I had two orders to pick up, but only one was confirmed ready for pickup, so I asked the customer service person about checking on the other order to see if it was also ready. They kindly stated that they would check, but wanted to take care of the other customers first (with confirmed ready for pickup orders). I complied, and started to browse the shoe department for about 20 mins. btw- the women's shoe dept didn't have a lot of options-perhaps already picked over from the holiday season. Finally, I found the same customer service person later on sorting through 'put back' items (from the dressing room, and returns from the registers), and asked again about my order, and they immediately said that nothing else was found for me, and my order may not have come in yet. I showed them my email that stated that my order was supposed to be ready for pick up today, and at the current time, it was four hours until store closing time. The customer service person then said that they will check again in the back. And To my surprise, they found my order, and they found another order that was supposed to be ready for a tomorrow pick up. So that was a very pleasant surprise. For the size and traffic through this store location, it is overall clean and neat. But the selection is overall lacking compared to other locations. However, it's a busy area, so great finds likely go fast. Highly recommend this location; just look for the small counter by the men's fitting room-and even press the service button (if it works) if there is no customer service person seen.

I belong to the Fitness First gym here, bank at the Chevy Chase, go to Yuraku for Japanese every other week or so, Mexican at Cafe Tacuba or Vietnamese at Pho 81 every month or two, and get my haircuts at Diamond Nails & Hair. Once in a while I will do take-out Chinese from Spring Garden, pick up Beer/Wine from the store there, get Pizza Hut, or eat at India Palace. When the Giant (now closed) was here, I bought groceries from there frequently. They also have a dry cleaners, Liberty Tax, and some other business which I have never tried. Due to my gym being here, everything here seems convenient for me.
