I've been to Downtown Crown a few times and it's a great area to do some eating, shopping and just walking around or relaxing on a nice day. Decided to visit the area yesterday and sit at a bench eating some tacos from a nearby food truck. The weather was great and most of everyone I had seen walking by were social distancing and trying to wear a mask as much as possible. I would say to just be careful when dining at some of the local restaurants as seating doesn't necessarily appear to be 6 feet apart. By far, this area has one of the best Starbucks locations I've been to. Service is wonderful and the baristas perfect your drinks. Coastal flats is also a very good option for dinner if you're into seafood. Personally, I think Paladar is a bit overpriced but if you want to splurge for one night I would recommend it. There's plenty of parking in the area both street and garage. In my opinion, it appears to be a really safe neighborhood and place to hang out. Would recommend to anyone looking for something to do during this quarantine. read more

Downtown Crown is like RIOs neighbor without the cool waterfront. You have endless of eating options! I will name a few of my favorite places: Coastal Flats, Paladar ( they have awesome HH specials!, Burger IM, Mezeh, Asia 9 ( my favorite), &pizza and La Madeline. As for retailers my two favorite are Sephora and Lululemon. Parking is tricky. You can park on the side but pay attention to the signs. Most are for food pick ups, limited to 15 minutes. There are parking garages but they fill up quickly. My strife is the little road besides Mezeh, people make their own parking rules, and double park which causes traffic nightmares. You also have LA Fitness, Harris Teeter and Starbucks. I love this Starbucks because, they are fast, friendly and they take great pride in their store in having a clean interior and a very clean bathroom. They have a nice open area for seating or just chilling, behind Teds Bulletin and the shops with Mezeh. Very pedestrian friendly shopping center. read more

Downtown Crown, or as I like to call it, Rio Plus, is a fantastic little piece of Gaithersburg. It's a section of land still under development with housing for a stretch, but flourishing with their shopping, dining, and basic needs. We're talking Harris Teeter, Starbucks, Ruth's Chris, L.A. Fitness, Sephora, and a beautiful area to walk your dogs, for your kids to play, for you to take a romantic date, or to escape the office for a nice lunch ALL WITHIN A QUARTER MILE OF EACH OTHER. There are two parking garages and a huge lot by the Harris Teeter. Easily accessible from 495 and route 200 literally spits you onto it. If you have an itch to buy a gorgeous piece of multi-million dollar property... YOU CAN GET THAT DONE RIGHT HERE. DTC is the absolute best spot in Gaithersburg and if they don't have what you need, you can very likely find it across the street at Rio. read more

This is a cool mixed use area loaded with lots of nice restaurants. Plenty of parking on the street or in garage. Very walkable too.

Downtown Crown - near the Rio in Gaithersburg and just off I-279 - a nice addition to local options for food and Drink, meals and Happy Hour, shopping and entertainment, strolling and just gathering with friends and family. Depending on weather - enjoy the morning or afternoon or evening at indoor or outdoor seating. And before heading home, pick up groceries or beer/wine or other home items, also available in this little pocket. Upside - so many many many options for food flavors -!; drinks - from local pub fare to international delights, and from breakfast specials to late night celebrations. Downside - most of the the places are slightly higher in price than comparable places a few minutes north or south or east or west. Balance side - ambience in community is sometimes worth a bit extra from the coin purse. So head on over to Downtown Crown - and toast to life. read more

A new development just off 270 featuring upscale apartments and lots of chain restaurants, including the mandatory *$$, Paladar, Coastal Flats, La Madelaine, BurgerFi, &Pizza, Harris Teeter, and Ruth's Chris. The Downtown Crown Wine and Beer store is an attraction as well, wine bar and lots of craft brew taps. My main reason for the fourth **** is the plentiful free parking on the streets and in several garages. Listen up, Washington DC and Bethesda: to get to your businesses and spend money, generating jobs and tax revenues, I have to drive. Make it annoying and expensive to park and guess what? Me, my car and my money go elsewhere. read more

I used to LOVE this shopping center - it was awesome with everything I needed including coffee and the gym, plus assorted restaurants but unfortunately, my car was broken into in the middle of the day right at the entrance of the parking garage. DO NOT FEEL SAFE HERE! The middle of the day, between 12PM and 2PM, my car (and another) had the windows bashed in and all contents stolen. When I asked the police if this happens here often, they said it also happened a few weeks ago. Turns out this is NOT a safe place. I will never shop here or visit this area again. Oh, and you would think they would be able to catch those who burglarized our vehicles, but even at this high-end shopping center there is absolutely no video security system in place. Great job, Downtown Crown. Thanks for having an environment where scumbags know they can come take advantage of your shoppers. read more

Downtown Crown is a nice shopping center in Gaithersburg, MD. We visited for dinner at Coastal Flats after watching Avengers Infinity Wars in theaters at the nearby Rio Washingtonian Center. They have quite a few awesome restaurants and some nice shops as well. Parking was not hard to find (they have at least one large parking structure). It's definitely a nice place to go out to eat, though I wouldn't say it's the liveliest of outdoor shopping centers (the Rio Washingtonian Center, downtown Bethesda, and Pike & Rose are all a bit livelier). It has more of a residential feel and is mainly good for its restaurant options. I'd definitely consider visiting again for dinner. read more

brand new shopping center in gaithersburg, right across the street from rio/washingtonian center. here, you will find harris teeter, la fitness, several bars and restaurants, and tons of parking. the design of the center is quite modern and makes me feel like i'm walking in a small village. excellent location, and extremely convenient to the 370 and 270 highways. i'm looking forward to seeing what other new businesses open here in the near future! read more

The best place everrrrrr. I love this new area! Such a nice and convenience place for restaurants and grocery also everyday life activities. Also it's like a few minute away from Rio if you want to explore the view around there! It's across the street from here, fast and easy to walk back and forth. I always enjoy going Harris Teeter. So does all the restaurants around here. So does the Eye care place is my go to for my prescription glasses (but I recently discover a new Eye place that carry a bit high end brand) which I still like the place. Overall experience, this is an awesome place to live and come for a quick relaxation. read more

Great place. I love getting drunk at the bars. I used to leave my car in the garage and take an Uber home. But now they leave nasty notes threatening to tow my car so I just risk it and drive home drunk. Pity, the entire retails parking garage is empty at night. I guess it is more important to Crown to keep the garage empty for invisible cars, then keep the roads safe. read more
