Not sure if the Ice Creams they serve is made right there but everyone in the family believes that it is and that's why no matter what the flavours you try they all taste amazing. This is our go to place either during our visit to the cottage or while returning from the cottage. Being a weekday at around 5 pm, the place still had some customers. However during the weekend we have encountered long lines. Kids and adults alike enjoy this place and it never disappoints. Some families who were with us also took Some milk and butter to take home. The store has some goodies as well. A flavoured cheese curds was unique this time go around. The only disappointment I have is that there are no non-dairy options

All the wacky flavour names. The cashiers can help you decipher the flavour names and what they actually are.

This is one of THE places to go in the surrounding area. Case in point: we were up at a cottage for the weekend and it was forecasted to rain for most of the weekend. Even then when we went to Kawartha Dairy just to get out and get some delicious ice cream. It was packed and had a huge line up and very little parking available. Luckily they had a tented area to shelter patrons from being soaked while waiting to order their ice cream. The sizes are: baby, small, and large. The baby is like a normal single scoop. The small is two large scoops. Btw did I mention with the small you can pick two different flavour. I mean choice is the spice of life (am I right?) I'm not sure I saw anyone get a large but I can only imagine. They have options for cups or cones and if you're getting a small also consider getting a ice cream sandwich. You get the two cookies and the same large scoop for your enjoyment. They cookies are pretty good but you do run the risk of squeezing out and losing you ice cream centre. I got the raspberry lemon-lime sorbet. It was delicious. My partner got the speculous cookie butter, also delicious.

I love ice cream but I almost couldn't finish it (a first) because their double scoops were huge! There was a long line up (about 20 minutes) but get yourself ready by reading the list of selection I've posted to figure out what choices you have. Many of which you won't find at the grocery store. They even had a new praline and cream brew made with beer. They gave me a full size tablespoon to sample which actually allowed me to figure out if I liked it or not. Bang for your buck and lots of awesome flavours! Lots of picnic tables for you to sit down and enjoy.

This is the best thing you see driving down highway 35!!!! We saw the big "kawartha dairy" sign, we drove pass it, and immediately we had to make a U turn back!! This is not just an ice cream store. They sell milk, butter and big tubs of ice cream inside. This place is generous with their scoop! A small cup gets you two huge scoop of ice cream!! So there I was, first it is one spoonful of Muskoka Mocha, then one spoonful Bordeaux Cherry, underneath the autumn sun, in the middle of nowhere in Minden, off of a highway....and life is good.

I love ice cream so I was very excited to visit Kawartha Dairy. I've had their ice cream before from select places that carry them in Toronto, but the idea of getting to try the ice cream from the actual shop was exciting. The line was pretty long on a Sunday afternoon, and stayed consistently long, but even so, it moves rather quickly because of the four windows that are open to serve. There is a little store with drinks, freezies and pre-packaged ice cream but to get the single serve scoops you have to endure the line. The portion sizes, as many have said in past reviews, are very generous. The sizes are baby, small, and huge, and are one, two and three scoops respectively. The scoops are massive and if you get more than one (small or huge) you can choose more than one flavour. There are soooo many flavours to choose from, and thankfully there is a sheet to read explaining each flavour before you reach the serving windows. I got a small cone with the flavours Wolf Paws and Cookies & Cream. Of course, they were both great, especially the Wolf Paws flavour which had brownie bits folded into the vanilla ice cream. There are benches nearby to enjoy the ice cream as well as a washroom and plenty of parking space. I'd definitely come back to try other flavours!

    Who wants Ice Cream!!??

Well what can I say. If you've been here before, you know exactly what I am talking about. They have the best ice cream in Ontario. They do sell the ice cream in supermarkets around the GTA, but it is the freshest here. Straight out of the Ice Cream Churn. So if you ever find yourself in Minden Ontario, and craving ice cream, get over to Kawartha Dairy and have a cup or cone. It will blow your socks off. The ice cream portions size will amaze you. Peace out Yelpers.

Great ice cream, fantastic selection and service. Staff friendly and efficient. One word of warning, use washrooms only as last resort. (

The place only has street parking and you have to enter and walk through a tiny alley to get to the entrance which is located at the back of the building. They had friendly staff and a variety of different ice cream flavours. Their regular 1 scoop ($4) cone was huge and you have the option of getting it in a cup. I got the butter pecan and it was delicious! Their seating is only outdoor and minimal (only 3 picnic tables) located at the entrance of the establishment. I would totally recommend if you're near by the area!

This place sells kawartha dairy ice cream in a variety of flavours and it is very fresh. You can buy the ice cream in a cup, regular cone, or waffle cone.. and you have the option of getting 1 scoop, 2 scoops, or 3 scoops. There is a nice seating area outside which is super hip looking with pink and grey painted walls. There is also adequate benches and chairs outside for you to sit and enjoy the ice cream with friends. In addition to selling ice cream, this place also has a small market inside where they sell what looks like merch and random nick nacks. We were not able to see or experience the market as we went here close to closing time, but it looks pretty cool. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area and are craving for some kawartha dairy ice cream!

If you want something for home, they have the 1L take home ice cream buckets and cakes as well! Definitely a pit stop if you're in Cottage country.
