Typically I don't write reviews, unless my experience with a business is extremely good or extremely bad. In this case I am so pleased with The Joint Chiropractic Clinic in Ogden that I just had to write a review to let others know. For years I have believed that eating well, exercise, and good chiropractic care are the foundations of good health and well being. In my opinion, medical doctors and medicine are good if there is a severe problem that cannot be treated otherwise, but chiropractic care should always be the first consideration when experiencing any physical ailment. In Georgia I regularly visited a chiropractor that I had known since I was in high school, and really liked the unique way their group did adjustments. Their particular adjustment procedure seemed to always work well for me, so when I moved to Utah about three years ago, I started looking for a chiropractor who performed the same type of adjustments. As it turned out, there were none around this area who practiced that same type of adjustment, so I held off going to a chiropractor here to see how well I could get by without adjustments. Well, after about a couple of years I without chiropractic, I was experiencing pains and health issues that I didn't want to put off any longer so I started looking at available chiropractors in the Ogden area. Of course the choices were overwhelming, making it very hard to decide where to go. When I first looked at The Joint on line I was skeptical because, first, I feared that a place with such a large network of offices may be more interested in sheer numbers and not so much about quality, and two, the price seemed a little too good to trust. After all, you get what you pay for, right, and I was used to expensive chiropractic care. Finally I decided to give it a try since the Ogden office is about half way between where I work and where I live, and if it didn't work out I could just move on to the next option. My first visit to the office went very well. The receptionist explained everything to me and had me fill out the paperwork. Included in paperwork was a good amount of information about The Joint, their philosophy on health, goals for meeting patient needs, and available services. It all was right up my alley as far as my own beliefs that good spinal alignment is the first step to overall good health for the rest of the body. After filling out the paper work, I met with Dr. Mechling who reviewed by physical history and joint related problems with me, then made a few adjustments. It was definitely different than the adjustments I was used to in Georgia, but when he was through I felt better right away. I had been experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort in my neck, mid and lower back into my right hip, for several weeks prior to seeing Dr. Mechling. The next day after he adjusted me, I felt better and continued to get much better in the following weeks as I went back for adjustments. As is always the case with chiropractic care, it takes a some time for the body to adjust itself to the new adjustment, and regular visits are necessary. It was only about a month that I needed to see Dr. Mechling a couple times a week, then he moved me to once a week or when necessary. After that first month or so I was surprised how much better I felt overall, not just in my back and joints. I actually started feeling more energetic, not as fatigued as I had been, and my digestive system functioned better. I guess since moving from Georgia I had gradually slipped into these physical issues and really didn't notice that they were not normal. From my experience and talking with other people over the years who receive chiropractic care, certain doctors seem to work better for some people and other doctors better for other people. I guess maybe the difference in doctor adjusting technique and the unique makeup of people's bone structure? I am not sure, but Dr. Mechling seems to have nailed the adjustments for me. I truly feel better now than I have since I moving to Utah. I am very happy with the care I get at The Joint Ogden, extremely pleased with the pricing plan (no insurance hassle!), and thrilled that I don't have to make an appointment to be adjusted. The wait is never longer than a few minutes once I arrive, if there is a wait at all. This is in contrast to where I used to go in Georgia, where I always had to call and see when I could get and appointment, then usually wait an hour or so once I arrived before I could see the doctor. A month ago I suggested to my dad that he try The Joint where he lives in Alabama, and so far he is very satisfied as well. I highly recommend The Joint, and plan to continue going to Dr. Mechling as long as he and/or I am around. read more

I requested cancellation because I didn't like the service provided at the closest location and unfortunately, I can't always go to Riverdale. I've received chiropractic service for over two decades and I never left after an appointment feeling the same as I got to the office. I still went back thinking it would get better but it never did So I ended up going to Riverdale instead the last few times. Getting affordable chiropractic services sounded really good but I rather pay for regular services with the practitioners I already know and trust even at a higher cost. It's true what they say, you get what you pay for. That being said, if this is your only option, you'll be better taken care of at the Riverdale office if you're close. read more

After years of intermittent lower back pain and months of sciatic/hip pain - to the point I could only stand up for a few seconds - I decided to follow my co-workers' recommendations and visit The Joint. Dr. Mechling patiently and attentively listened as I described my symptoms, my skepticism and my past horrific experiences with chiropractors.
