I had a wonderful experience! This was my first time visiting a chiropractor and getting an adjustment and they made sure I was comfortable and relaxed. The Doctor spent about 30 minutes explaining the anatomy and physiology of the pain in detail. Overall. I recommend the place if you want overall wellness. If you have any injuries I suggest you get some XRAYs and go here to discuss a treatment plan with them. Went in to make my chiropractic care a priority and have had nothing, but a great experience at this location. They're all incredible and take the time to personalize your experience. In the past, I'd go to your typical chiropractic office, but at The Joint, not having to schedule your appointment in advance is pretty awesome! Whenever I go in, I always witness the relationships they have with their regulars and that's a great thing to see. That means they have loyal clients because of their great staff and service. I will now be a regular and it's something I look forward to on a weekly basis. I'll always go when Dr. Hammes is in. He's not afraid to move you around in order to make the adjustment and that's exactly what I need. The receptionist, Heather is also very nice and always there when I decide to go in. Completely unprofessional when trying to obtain records from this staff for life and disability insurance underwriting. DO NOT go to this office, I am convinced that they do not hold records correctly and do not have a professional way of running their business. Staff was rude, hung up on me and the insurance underwriter when trying to obtain records in the way we do for EVERY SINGLE company (even other offices of The Joint). The staff lied to us when asking for the corporate number to file a complaint, gave us the wrong phone number and said not to call corporate because "they would tell us the same thing"... I googled and found the corporate number, called and got all the way up to the assistant of the CEO. She said their company's process for sending records is NOT what this specific office says it is - and then gives me an email to send the HIPPA form and obtain records. Now, that email isn't answering!! The file closes in 15 days and will not be able to get coverage if this company does not get their business together! Absolutely ridiculous. Do not trust these people with your body or medical records. The way they have treated the underwriters is shameful. read more

Just trying to go get an adjustment and the door was locked at 2 PM. A lady came to the door and said that they're on their lunch break and that I could come back in 45 minutes. Since when does the joint take a lunch break? People are not gonna wait around 45 minutes to get an adjustment while you both eat lunch. Hit and miss. Some chiropractors are good some barely touch you. I purchased a plan and couldn't cash in my last session because of travel and regular closures and they refused to extend it by one day. That's bad business imo. Update: I received a complementary session to make up for the bad experience. Or maybe to make up for the fact that they didn't accept my last unit for the package I purchased. I wish I could go back in time, and NOT VISIT this place. :( I came in around 330 on a Saturday. While I'm completing my paperwork the receptionist and one of the chiropractors start talking about how they basically wish they could close down. The chiropractor says- "we should close the office after 6 customers" she then asked how early are they allowed to turn away customers? The guy told her "technically 4:30, but I've heard ____ tell people no as early as 4:15." The receptionist then talked about how her office in Irving sends ppl away as early as 3:45. Then they start talking about how some doctor they work with or used to work with in Irving is a do___e bag. They even talked about how he's getting married soon and how it won't last. I'm STANDING AT THE RECEPTIONIST'S DESK FILLING OUT PAPERS, MIND YOU. She's sitting directly in front of me, he's standing next to her... This was so incredibly unprofessional I almost left. When I handed over my paperwork I asked, should I come another day? Should I schedule something? She said no problem. The doctor calls me back. He's friendly, however in a few minutes he's done a couple of adjustments and I am done. I told him it actually feels worse. :/ nothing is better, everything felt tight. He told me to come back bc the joints needs to be loosened up. ?!? I'm now in extreme discomfort on my couch writing this review and scheduling my appointment with Dr. Hoogeveen. This is like the DOLLAR STORE of chiropractic care. Do not go here. It can wait till Monday, when you can see a real doctor. I'm so upset that I did this, and hope my regular chiropractor is able to fix whatever this guy did. I'm not trying to be a total Karen, but geez. This needed to be said. Well if you are in pain and need an adjustment, don't go here. They will just refer you to go somewhere else because they don't feel comfortable adjusting you. I just need a simple adjustment to release my back pressure which would be a simple procedure but they only wellness, meaning you are not in true need for adjustment just need one to maintain your health. Just purchased 1 month of chiropractic services since my first and second experience at this place was great with the male doctor (not sure his name). Just came in today there was female chiropractor there i had not seen before. She called my name from the back, did not even walk to the front to greet me. Once on the table I told her my neck was sore and asked if it was okay to adjust my neck. I was ignored and it was done anyway. I assumed she looked at my chart to see that I've had a previous back injury, she had not. She popped my mid back and it caused a great deal of pain, she never asked if I was ok. When I was done I asked if it was normal to feel that much pain. And she acted like i was unconvincing her by asking. She rushed me out and didn't even say thank you. I plan on calling the office and asking for a full refund. I will not be back due to this incident. And I hope others stay away as well. Update Dr. amber nevels read more

I am giving it 5 stars after I've been going for a week. From the first visit until now, each day gets better. I have so much more range of motion in my neck. I am not a newbie to Chiropractic care but this is the first place I've ever been that does not waste time with electro zingy things. You go for an adjustment and you get an adjustment. The longest I've waited to be seen is 15 minutes, usually 5 or so. I'm sure there are busier times, but I've been very fortunate. Yes, I picked the monthly plan but honestly if I want to sleep on my side I need at least a weekly adjustment. Dr. Hammes is amazing. He is so kind and respectful of areas that you are in pain. Truly, the first time he cracked my neck, it sounded like a gunshot in my skull. I asked my husband if he had heard it in the waiting room. lol I cannot recommend him enough. If you want to use any doctor exclusively you are afforded that option. As I've seen enough useless chiropractors in my past, I took them up on this. read more

Unfortunately this was a horrible experience. My doctor did not seem knowledgeable at all and wasn't able to successfully adjust me. She had a hygiene issue which also made me uncomfortable. I was nervous for my safety. I didn't receive any actual help and the only advice I was given was to sign up for a weekly appointment. I am only writing this to discourage others from risking this. Quick and deceptively cheap. It's probably my fault for not knowing what to expect. I think i was naive to think it was $19. After your first visit they proscribe that you come 6 times a month. I feel a bit scammed by it.. I was initially ok with it but after an hour later after my spine correction i still feel sore and achy. Then again It could just be my fault on my end for not seeing a chiropractor more often; because i'm still having issues; just now i'm able to move my head though and that's been improved. So we'll still see i've bought the $59 plan for 4 more visits. It was really quick as well. The actual work took maybe 10-15 minutes. Also, they don't offer xray or fancy machines. Just an empty room. My other issue was the privacy thing. There's a bunch of people in the waiting room that can hear your conversation with the Doctor. Not that i have anything to hide; i don't mind sharing; but i could see how if there is sensitive family history that you wouldn't want to share with everyone. The front desk lady is nice and helpful just not very patient. I needed to pay with my FSA / PCA card and she just swiped twice and asked for a different card. I told her that was my only form of payment; e..g. I'm not paying for this i'd rather have my FSA / PCA account pay for this. No insurance is needed either. They just take the Visa / Mastercard Health insurance plan. Overall, i'm not sure yet. I'm not entirely sold. I think i might just cancel my plan after a month. We'll see. Will update. read more

Dr Hammes is a phenomenal chiropractor and has miraculously accomplished what no other chiropractor, rheumatologist, acupuncturist, physical therapist, massage therapist and every other means of treatment on my long list I've tried over the years in my quest to find a solution to resolve my mysterious chronic musculoskeletal pain that I've been suffering from for nearly 15 years. My muscles abnormally tighten up like a rock, resulting in my neck, back & hips to torque out of place, resulting in my spine being in a constant state of misalignment. I've tried everything out there, including years of simultaneously taking five prescriptions for fibromyalgia and wearing 3 tens units throughout the day & night. Yoga, weightlifting & trigger point therapy help significantly but above all, I thank god for The Joint, which has made it possible for me to afford receiving chiropractic adjustments on a daily basis, which has been a life changer. I go to The Joint nearly everyday and have been doing so for the last 2 years. I've been to many of The Joint locations & treated by many of the chiropractor's in Dallas and Austin. I find each chiropractor's unique talents and techniques beneficial. I live in Uptown and was visiting Plano several days ago and stopped in for my first time at Dr. Hammes location on Preston Rd for an adjustment and something miraculous happened. He was able to release my hips and adjust my ribs in a way that no other doctor has been able to and I was immediately pain free. My posture feels excellent & the pain has not come back. I feel the best I have felt in fifteen years. If you live or work in this area of Dr Hammes practice, you are extremely fortunate and would be wise to take advantage of his expertise. I'm an ICU nurse and have been working in an inpatient hospital for 6 years. Lifting patients for 6 years (on a bariatric floor for 3) definitely took a toll on my lower back. I tried my own conservative therapy for over a month (stretching, core, and NSAIDs), but the pain is persistent. I decided to check out The Joint looking for some help. Haley is the receptionist, and she greets you with a genuine smile. She was helpful, and the paperwork was pretty painless to fill out. Dr. Douglas was a sweetheart and definitely very professional. He was quite frank with me and the type of work that he does, which I appreciated. Nothing's worse than having different expectations of care when it comes to your health. Chiropractic therapy is new to me. It was scary being physically manipulated like that with such quick jerking motions. I was honestly skeptical at the end because I was only in there for maybe 20 minutes. As I was walking to my car, I noticed I was walking straighter and my back tension was gone. I know this was temporary, but color-me-impressed nonetheless. He sent me out with a couple of ice packs and was instructed to ice 15 minutes on and off. I figured this place was worth a shot. Then, Dr. Douglas himself called me a day later to follow up to see how I was doing! At this point, I'm sold. I'm very impressed with the customer service. Very, very well done. Walk-ins are accepted, insurance is not. At $29 a visit, I will be a regular customer hoping to get my back into shape again. read more

This is my "go to" place for chiropractic needs. I have gone to a chiropractor for just about 30 years. I bought a group of 10 adjustments And use them accordingly. Needless to say I have and have had ongoing issues with my back and neck. Very seldom have I had a negative issue from this establishment. I don't rate them five stars because administratively they could use some improvement. They have a regular rotation of chiropractors. Just like most places of employment, every so often there's turnover and a period of adjustment and then an established steady crew chiropractors. I have had both male and female chiropractors; both young, and not so young chiropractors... Just about every one of them has been great. I like that I don't have to make an appointment. Sometimes when my back goes out of adjustment from working in the yard or working with something heavy, I don't have the luxury of planning when that would happen. So I can just go directly to a chiropractor and get it fixed immediately. I avoid busy times or when I think would be a busy time, and therefore I don't have to wait very long. In many instances getting my spine and neck adjusted costs less than a co-pay would cost if I used insurance. When your back hurts, you don't want to have to wait until two Wednesdays later in the month to schedule to get it addressed, You want it worked on by a medical professional immediately. These are the reasons I think "the joint" is awesome. Highly recommended. read more

Waste of my time, energy to even drive here. Was not even worth the cheap price neither. My chiro was a female Dr. N. She did not even know what she is doing and giving me gibberish medical logics as if she know what I am going through. First time ever to not be able to get a sound crack from a chiro and wanting me to come back day after day for more money when she didn't do anything for me other than cheated by using this handheld gun tool to pretend to make a cracking sound. I live in California but come out to Frisco about once every 3 months. I make it a point to go to The Joint in Plano every time I am here. The chiropractors do a great job and I was happy to meet one that suggested an option other than what my pain management doc said I had to do back home in CA in order to get rid of my pain...he wanted to burn my nerve endings in my lower back. The Joint chiro said that is permanent and gave me his expert advise after a couple tests, even though it didn't benefit him. I felt he had the best interest of me with a genuine concern. I was very disappointed with my visit to this chiropractor's Hebron Pkwy location in Carrollton. I left feeling like the goal was to sell memberships to get a monthly adjustment. That's it! They never examined me. Just asked where I have pain, then told me they only do adjustments! There is no real chiropractic care if you have areas that require more than 10 minutes of their time. Why a chiropractor would spend the time and money to go to school to do nothing but routine monthly adjustments is odd to me. I guess it's all about generating easy revenue. read more
