As a bigger guy (5'10/ 265), I couldn't recommend anyone else over Dr. Chris. I've been to over 10 locations throughout the state of Texas and It wasn't until coming to this location that I've found my "forever home" Dr. Govea is super sweet and made me feel as if I've been her patient for years, even though it was my first adjustment with her. She's also not afraid to put in work because she made sure I was fully adjusted before letting me go. Overall, I'm recommending this specific location because of the visible results in my day to day life and how pleasant whole experience is. Praise God! read more

I had a first appointment ever with the joint, after much hesitation, at the Chapel Hill location in Fort Worth. My hesitation and reluctance to get "adjusted" by the joint proved to be well suited. The doctor very briefly talked to me about the problems I was having and what i did mention was dismissed as not a legitimate issue, even though I couldn't lean my head a certain way and my left leg has such limited mobility that I can't extend it at all. The adjustment, if you even want to call it that, was so aggressive that he physically knocked the air out of me. He did not take the time to assess my spine, neck, or joints in any way in order to pinpoint where an actual issue might lie. He just slammed into my back, aggressively yanked on my feet, forced my neck to go in a direction that was painful due to the aforementioned reason for being there in the first place. Nothing he did offered any type of relief. It actually increased my pain level and caused new pain in areas that were seemingly fine before. There was no waiting on me to breathe in between adjustments, there was no adjusting with the flow of my breath, and there was little to no care applied to my body and the issues I had addressed both verbally and on my paperwork. After the adjustments I let him know that my hip felt zero relief whatsoever. The pain was actually worse than when I walked in. There was zero sound advice offered. I hoped that going into that appointment, since they are licensed doctors, that there would be an attempt to figure out the root of the problem and offer advice as to how I should move forward, I.e some type of imaging, an actual care plan that didn't solely revolve around my purchasing a membership, or a suggestion to help the inflamed area. And no, stretching the opposite hip is not beneficial. All of this is said on the premise of my being adjusted by someone who is actually skilled in their craft, who takes the time to listen and tend to the body, and knows that there is more to chiropractic care than the amount of "cracks" you hear. I don't care that I have ti drive over an hour to her private practice. An hours drive is better than experiencing the sheer level of discomfort and pain inflicted on me whilst at the joint. I will absolutely not be returning to the joint and I will in no way recommend y'all's "care" to anyone. read more

My first time here and it was great. I've been looking for a new place, and the raving reviews I thought I would try it out. Brooke, the receptionist, was very welcoming. Her engagement with other clients was professional. She was multi-tasking with new, existing clients, answered the phone with ease. Dr. Matt was perfect. He spent time with me, going over my paperwork, my occupation, past experience and pain. After a thorough conversation, he began working on my back, neck and feet. As someone who has always suffered from a dull pain in my shoulders from stress, I never really considered getting it taken care of. This all changed when the dull pain extended throughout my left arm, and I began to favor that arm. I figured that I needed to take care of myself better and considered simply getting a massage when I received an introductory coupon for a chiropractic adjustment from "The Joint". I've always been skeptical of Chiropractors since everything I've heard about them sounds rather "woo-ish", but I was in enough pain that I got curious to try it. The business is located in the Chapel Hill shopping center closest to the highway, and in a small area, so it may be easy to miss at first. The office is clean and calm, and the adjustment benches are all in one room (not ideal but again, this was my first time). The young lady at the front was not very helpful, and focused on her cell phone most of the time, but she eventually assisted me. Dr. Sorenson called me up after I filled out some forms (liability forms, mostly). We went to the area with all the chairs and he reviewed my "case" then gave me a basic rundown of muscle composition. He had me lay in various positions and adjusted me accordingly. Afterwards, I was sore, and the previous painful areas were now feeling rather numb. The chiropractor gave me a "prescription" to get a heat pad and take an epson salt bath, then recommended that I return twice a week. I wanted to see if this stuff really worked so I paid $29 (the introductory special) and left rather than committing to some kind of membership. The next day I was still sore, so I continued to take epson salt baths. On the third day, I woke up with no pain. I moved my "bad arm" and nothing. I touched my shoulders and nothing. Maybe this stuff really works? I was finally pain-free! Two weeks later, my pain is sort-of starting to come back, likely because I didn't commit to any "membership". I plan on returning to The Joint at some point soon. The four stars is for my less-than-lovely encounter with the front desk lady. read more

Put in interest online regarding scheduling a first session chiropractor appointment. Was contacted the next day regarding what time I would like to set an appointment. I asked for a 12:45 or 1pm appointment and was told a 1pm appointment was available and scheduled. Texted "yayyy your 1pm appointment is scheduled don't forget to bring your spine." After leaving my graduate program nurse anesthesia school campus and taking time away from studying I arrive at 12:59pm only to be told my appointment would not be honored because new patients would not be seen unless it was 10am or after 3pm. When I filled out my information online this company was aware I was a new patient AND reached out to me. I was told thank you for my understanding and sent out the door. No questions were asked about my injury, compensation for my time or drive or offers for subsequent offers made. I suggest no one starts at this location as a first time customer. read more

I brought my fiancé here the month before the wedding because he was stressed and overworked and really needed to be adjusted. While we were there the lady at the desk convinced us into buying the monthly health package that had a special deal that month. She told us we could cancel at any time and it would save us tons of money for the month that he needed adjustments. So we bought into it and asked when the pay period restarted for the next month. so we could cancel the membership after the recommended adjustments were met. She told us July 12 and we both put it on our calendars to remind ourselves to cancel it before then. Well my fiancé went in today (11th) to cancel the membership since we no longer need it. And we were told that we have already been charged for this month!!!! I am furious. I am a week out from our wedding spending an unnecessary 70 DOLLARS on a membership we were told we could cancel.
