I stopped by here a couple of weeks ago with my father for an afternoon pick me up. Since Java Junction is a coffee hut, there's not too much to say about it. It has windows on both sides and the day that we were there they had two employees working the windows. Since I was looking for an afternoon pick me up I went with my usual large Americano. It was ready within a few minutes and after signing the credit card receipt, we were quickly headed down the road. The coffee here ended up being pretty good. It had that really strong flavor that I think a lot of coffees in Alaska have and it was nice and smooth. It also tasted like the beans had been freshly roasted which gave it a little bit of a good but different flavor. Whenever my father and I had made it back to Soldotna, I realized that I didn't have my credit card. In thinking back, whenever I had signed the credit card receipt, I ended up signing on some ledge which I thought was weird. At that point I immediately knew they had put my card under the receipt instead of on the top and so we headed the 20 minutes or so back to get it. Retrieving it wasn't a big deal which thankfully meant that the only thing I lost was some time and gas.
The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While I wish my card had been on top of the receipt instead of under, I know it's my fault for not realizing, I did enjoy the coffee here and thought the baristas were nice. read more
