We made a quick stop on a long drive. The baristas were very friendly overall. They have an extensive holiday menu, lots of festive options. I just wanted some hot tea, and it was pretty good. We got the holiday drink the hot frosty, which was peppermint espresso dark chocolate. It was good but way too sweet. Overall we'd want to try some of the other options next time! read more

We were on the way to the Discovery Park & stopped in for a a quick bite and coffee as we drove through Dyersburg. Don't stop here if you're in a hurry. I have Currently been in line for 20 minutes waiting. I stop here everyday and it always takes FOREVER. They ask if you want whipped cream and still give it to you if you say no. I work next door and a coworker came inside for a drink and was waiting for a while and when she asked about her drink they said "oh we forgot" and proceeded to give her the melted drink. I started just getting the caramel frappe because all the other drinks taste the same. Would much rather prefer having a Starbucks but this is the closest thing I can get to decent coffee. read more

Great coffee selection and friendly staff. I got the Peppermint Mocha as a "bull frog" which adds a scoop of ice cream to your hot coffee - DELICIOUS. WAY better than Starbucks. Do this and you will thank me. If I lived in the area I would absolutely be a regular. The only thing you'll regret is not ordering a larger size so you have more to enjoy. As compared against other coffee shops I've been too, Java Cafe isn't at the top of my list, but for being the only place in Dyersburg, Tennessee where you can get an authentic espresso or latte (read: no instant cappuccino mixes used here), I'm fairly impressed. I appreciate the fact that I can sit around and use the wireless, as this has made this place a staple for all of my visits when I'm in the area visiting my family. The employees are friendly. The coffee is good. And the treats in the glass case are enticing. There's no cost to use the wireless. No one chases you out or makes you feel unwanted after hours of sitting by your laptop, despite the fact you haven't bought refills of your coffee or ordered any more food. The place doesn't have brewed coffee, only espresso-based coffee drinks. But that just kind of makes the place more eclectic. As of yet, I've a few of the treats and have been happy enough with the food. I'll keep coming back. I almost bought a mug as a souvenir, but at that time, the only mugs available were huge travel mugs. Eventually I will probably walk out with a souvenir. read more

Very disappointed!!! We stopped for coffee and breakfast, after reviewing the menu online...we ordered 2 platters and they told us they don't offer those in their store. But there they were on the menu inside the store. So I asked for omelets instead...they don't have those either. Annoyed, I nicely asked "wha do you have? That might be easier" lol. They have breakfast sandwiches and muffins and bagels. So we order 2 bacon egg and cheese biscuits and a bacon egg and cheese croissant. It took 10 minutes to get those. And we watched them microwave them. And they were all 3 still cold. My dirty snowman latte was delicious, hence the 2 stars. And my S.O.'s dark roast coffee was ok...not a real drip though. Oh well. We live and we learn. But we were disappointed in our $21 coffee house escapade... read more

You don't want to pass this place up! They have great coffee. You can never ever go wrong with a Dirty Snowman or a Hot Frosty! Hot or cold both are great as is nearly everything on their menu. First off, this place is right across from Lowes on highway 51. The address I had kept taking me to the high school. Now... The service was friendly, the coffee is that better quality of bold I was looking for in without much luck in the rural setting of western Tennessee. My blueberry muffin was also just what I needed. When we walked in we experienced a very nice atmosphere. Music was playing softly in the background. I have to eat gluten free foods and right there on the menu was a gluten free egg casserole. It was great. They serve great coffee. This would be an outstanding place to meet with friends if we lived here but we are on the road again. This is my go-to place for coffee when I'm in Dyersburg. I like that it's not Starbucks and has a much more friendlier vibe and comfortable feel. The employees are super-nice and the coffee drinks are top-notch. I recommend the Dirty Snowman. It's also one of the few coffee shops that offers a pumpkin spice latte year-round. The coffee is roasted locally, so it's fresh and tasty. The milk used in their coffee drinks is also local and you can certainly taste the difference. read more

Had two experiences here, one this morning and one the night before. We stopped by for dinner on the way home from our vacation. I had the turkey and Colby sandwich and asked for it toasted. It was excellent! I had asked for fruit medley as my side, but the girl later came and told me they were out. She offered to cut up fresh fruit for me, and I said sure. She came back again and said they were out of strawberries. She offered for me to get a free dessert, which I thought was very nice. My mom got the Frickin, which she really enjoyed as well. The staff was very nice. We decided to stop for breakfast before we headed home. we both got the Turkey bacon, egg white, and Swiss on English muffin. The girl who was helping us (not the same one as last night) seemed rushed and wasn't very friendly. She told us it was turkey sausage, although the menu clearly said turkey bacon. We saw her preparing it, and it came out of plastic bags! It didn't have Swiss, it was American or something. McDonald's has way better breakfast sandwiches, and they aren't prepackaged. I definitely would recommend going for lunch/dinner or dessert, because the homemade ice cream is amazing! Skip the breakfast, you're not missing anything. I'm sure the drinks are great too. But the breakfast is what made me give it 3 stars. read more

This is a great place (the only place that I could find) for espresso coffee. I stopped in every day of my last stay and every time I was charged a different price for the same mocha. If you are in the Dyersburg area this is the go to place for great coffee or just to sit and reflect while surfing the web. I am a Starbucks fanatic and this takes care of me while visting at home. Actually my son loves it just as much. My daughter recently tried the coffee she sends rave reviews. No coffee can be good in the mouth that does not first send a sweet offering of odor to the nostrils. I love the smells. Most of all is the great service and smiles from behind the counter. Not sure who the young lady was at the register and making the expressos on 10 & 11 Dec 2011, But KUDOS and keep up the good work. She was alone running the cafe and took care of the customers in supreme manner. No one had to wait for service. Suggest you guys get a website. Java Cafe in Dyersburg has the best custom-made espresso coffees that I have ever drank. I personally prefer the standard, hot mocha, but everything I have ever ordered has been really good. They use quality syrups/sauces (not the powder mixed with water that Starbucks uses). They always have great customer service. Twice since they opened, my drink was not exactly right, and I went back. They started over, and made it perfectly. I am not a complainer, but when I pay $5 or so for a drink, I do want it to be right. They fixed it both times with a smile. Timm is right on track with management, it seems, and now they even offer delivery during the week with a minimum $10 order. They have gone out of their way to deliver a couple of times on the weekend just because they had time to do it. I just can't say enough good things about their coffees, their service, and their employees. You all are top-notch. As far as their food, I like everything I've ever ordered. I usually get the roast beef and swiss (or colby) on a cresent roll with the honey mustard horseradish dressing. It's really good. I wish they would bring the fried pies back, though. :-) read more
