Just moved to Monterey and were fortunate to discover the Jacobs Team. There's a reason they have a 5-star rating. These wonderful women truly went the extra mile to help us understand what we were looking for, where we might find it, and how to close the deal. We worked mostly with Maha, who was fantastic. She shared so many helpful insider tips about life on the Peninsula and made us feel at home right away. When we were going back and forth between multiple properties, she provided expert guidance every step of the way and helped us confidently narrow down the best choice. When it came time to negotiate, Maha and Joy were knowledgeable, strategic, and a strong advocates for us. Their expertise made a real difference, and we felt supported throughout the entire process. We're so grateful for their help and highly recommend the Jacobs Team. They are at the top of their game + they are kind + they made this a joyful experience from beginning to end. read more

I was referred to the Jacobs Team by a trusted friend, and as first-time homebuyers, the whole process felt pretty daunting at first. From day one, the Jacobs Team was incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We worked primarily with Maha, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. She guided us through every step of the process and helped ease any anxieties that came up along the way. Her communication was always quick, and she was very accommodating of our busy schedules. Maha helped us find our dream home in Monterey! Her knowledge of the Monterey Peninsula is truly invaluable. She actually guided us toward a home that wasn't originally on our radar, and we are so grateful she did! We also had a very short turnaround for inspections, but thanks to Maha's strong network and local connections, we were able to get everything scheduled and completed quickly, which made a huge difference. Even after closing escrow, Maha has continued to support us by sharing great vendor referrals, all of whom have been excellent. We're so grateful to Maha and the entire Jacobs Team for making our first home-buying experience such a positive one. We would absolutely recommend them! read more

My husband and I wanted to tour available homes on the Monterey peninsula and we called The Jacobs Team because of their 5-star rating. I left a voicemail message and Joy Jacobs returned my call promptly. She was very sweet and a delight to speak with. She was also very accommodating of our short-notice request to tour houses the following day. She said that one member of her team will call to set up a schedule. Maha Malek called shortly afterwards and approximately 20 hours later, Maha ushered us into the first of six houses slated for that day. Maha knows the area very, very well and based on our preferences, she knew what to recommend and what to steer us out of despite our original predilection. Her guidance kept us from wasting time. By the end of the day, we had a plan for an offer on our dream home. Maha recommended an offer price and strongly urged us to obtain a financing pre-approval letter. She emailed us all of the disclosure paperwork right away. A few days later, she submitted our offer. Maha's experience, know-how, and expertise with Monterey peninsula real estate proved extremely valuable. During escrow, we encountered a few bumps but hearing Maha's voice always calmed our anxieties. She always brought sunshine! She is a genuinely lovely, thoughtful, sweet, attentive person who always made time for us and who really cared that our dream of living on the Monterey peninsula would be realized. She always made us feel like we were her only clients although we knew that that wasn't the case. She was always there for us for 30+ days that we miss her presence each time we walk into our dream home. We still communicate with her as a dear friend and a neighbor. read more

Joy Jacobs had helped my husband and I buy our house 17 years ago and then sell it May 2, 2023. Throughout both transactions, Joy was helpful, professional & patient. Even when we discovered some permitting issues, she was positive and upbeat though the situation was trying. She has a "get 'er done" attitude that can't be beat. We would highly recommend Joy and her team. They are incredible women with a penchant for helping people realize their goals. read more

Joy Jacobs, Jen Jacobs Bolger, and their team provided me with expert advice and guidance that enabled me to sell my property in the shortest time for the best price. This is the second time I've used their services to sell property, and both times they have flawlessly guided me through the complicated real estate sales process. With their help and guidance, we prepared the property to show it in the best condition for sale, priced it to sell, and avoided unnecessary steps and expenses along the way. Their team of professionals (Amber Hathaway, Transaction Coordinator; Gina Carnazzo, Listing Coordinator; and Ilse Reyes, Marketing Director) provided unequalled services during the process to ensure that the property presented in the best way possible to get the best price from the sale while avoiding any potential problems. Joy, Jen, and their team are the best! I am so pleased with them and you will be too. Go with the best - Joy, Jen, and team. You'll be so glad you did! read more

I've spent my entire life in the Bay Area but after losing my job due to the pandemic, we took advantage of the opportunity to move to an area we felt has a better quality of life for our family. We selected 3 Realtors to interview. Joy's personality, authenticity and knowledge impressed us. Her presentation was reassuring and made our choice easy. Joy was critical in assisting us to look for our forever home. When we found our forever home, she guided us through the bidding process, discussed the pros and cons of the home and completed the process after shelter in place orders were issued. Then the Jacobs team helped us put our old home on the market, priced strategically and we had 9 offers in 2 days at or above asking price! We are ecstatic. The Jacobs Team is a Joy to work with. Jen recently represented us on both the sale of our home and the purchase of our new home. Jen and her team are well organized and helped make the entire listing process seem effortless. The sale of our home was handled so beautifully that we had 3 competing offers in under 3 days. Jen thoughtfully helped us review the offers and make an educated decision on our acceptance. This is above and beyond what I have experienced in previous transactions. On the purchase of a new home, Jen tirelessly searched for potential homes. She had leads on homes before they had officially hit the market, which was a wonderful advantage for us. Jen listened to what both my husband and I were looking for and was able to find us an absolute gem that is a perfect blend of what we were each looking for. Both transactions exemplify what flawless transactions look like. Jen is a consummate professional, she keeps her clients informed and helps to make what is often a stressful process an absolutely pleasant one. You know that your best interest is being kept at the forefront when you have Jen representing you. There is a reason why the Jacobs Team has been so successful for so long.... They know what they are doing and they are building life long community relationships in the process. If you are looking for stellar representation, this is your agent. read more

We recently worked with Maha in the purchase of our home, and it was an all around pleasant, exciting and seamless experience. Maha helped us navigate through the real estate lingo (we were clueless first-time home buyers), and was a true advocate for us every step of the way. She gave us her honest opinion about each home we toured which we greatly appreciated. She is reliable and always available by phone, which was challenging since we had to coordinate everything from the other coast! She coordinated inspections, was on top of all the deadlines and kept us up to date on our progress. Overall, Maha is the real deal, and we highly recommend her and her team!! read more

Joy Jacobs and her team helped us maneuver through a very long and complicated short sale. Throughout the whole process they were very professional, friendly, and on top of things. They literally had to sell the house five or six times because the buyers kept flaking out or had bank problems. The final deal took more than 6 months (due to the Buyer's complicated business history), but they kept us on top of what was happening at every minute. Calls (and almost instant text replies) were always bitter-sweet. She sometimes had to deliver bad news but by the end of the call we were laughing and just enjoying talking to her. Part Agent, part comedian and part spiritual advisor, Joy manages to make you feel like your deal is the most important thing in her life right now, next to her Grand-babies (even on our reduced commission short-sale)!!! If you are looking for an agent who gets things done, while having a good time doing it then Jacobs Realty should be your choice. Do yourself a favor- call and meet your "New best Friend". read more

I have worked with Jen twice over the past five years. Once when she was the buyer's agent for a home I was selling and a second time as my agent for a home I was selling. This is an update to my previous 5 star review. Joy and Marilyn did the impossible! Joy found the perfect home for us by good old fashioned, roll up your sleeves hard work. The Jacobs team primarily works out of this office. They're locals who love real estate and love working hard for their clients.

There's a reason Joy and Jen are top agents in the area - they have years of experience, always look out for their clients' best interests and are tough negotiators. They are also well respected by agents throughout the area and have an incredible team. Joy and Jen are also great resources - well connected and have a wealth of knowledge about different types of real estate investment. read more

I can't say enough good things about the Jacobs team; they are the best! I live in New York but inherited a house in Monterey which I decided to sell. I visited Monterey to meet real estate agents and decide who to work with. Jen and Joy were my first choice, not only because they brought delicious cookies when they came for our meeting but also because they established a good rapport right off with my tenants who were stressed about having to move and they seemed like the people I would be most at home working with, especially in a long distance relationship. I worked with Jen on the sale of the house. There were a few complications along the way and she was 100% present to handle all of them, resulting in a very quick sale of the house; the closing happened less than 6 weeks from the time the house went on the market. She gave me good advice every step of the way and made life much easier for me by taking care of things that I was not able to deal with from NYC including making sure the house met all the California water & earthquake regulations, arranging a handy man to do some needed work and to get rid of things that needed to be cleared out of the house, and supervising the movers whom I hired to pack up everything else. She even offered to pay for some damage done to the garage roof during the move in order to keep the buyer happy. That seemed above and beyond the call of duty to me so instead we split the cost between us. It was such a pleasure working with Jen; I highly recommend her and the Jacobs team to anyone buying or selling a house in Monterey, especially fellow out-of-towners like me! My only regret is that I won't have another opportunity to work with them again. read more

We live on the peninsula and, after a four-year search of coastal towns, settled on Pacific Grove for our next hometown. Maha came highly recommended to us by a peninsula broker. We began our search in late 2019 and Maha was eager, charming and industrious; she regularly checked in, sent us listings and set up virtual tours via FaceTime. Maha displayed great patience as we worked through our own process of figuring out what we want - whittling through properties, giving her feedback. In March 2020, COVID arrived and as the world went sideways, we thought we would have to suspend our search. Maha however had other ideas and rose above and beyond to keep the dream alive for us. She continued to search for properties and when interesting, she set up appointments back-to-back so we could drive down and make the most of the time we had. At one property, she insisted that the other broker stay outside while we toured on our own in a socially distant and safe manner. It felt crazy to be doing this during a global pandemic, but Maha never missed a beat and adjusted the whole process seamlessly to make it feel not just possible but safe and protected. After multiple drives down, we were ready to give up, but Maha persevered, keeping the faith while ours flagged, ever-positive that our house was right around the corner. And it was. On our "last" drive down, we found our house and we knew immediately that it could spark a bidding war. Four hours later, we submitted a bid with Maha's expert guidance and barely 2 hours later it was ours. A substantially higher bid came in a few hours later and an even higher one the next day. Without question, Maha's expertise and professionalism made this outcome possible for us. In normal times, she would have earned our highest approval and recommendation. During these COVID times, we also extend our deepest gratitude for her unflagging optimism and keeping us safe throughout the process. If you are looking for a broker, Maha is absolutely the one you want on your side. read more

We worked with Joy and Jen and their team to sell our house in Monterey last year. We were so nervous and stressed about the prospect, but Joy helped reassure us both practically and emotionally as were going through the initial steps. We appreciated her experience in our local area when it came to giving us advice regarding listings and showings. She was also thoughtful in accommodating our daily lives into the craziness of showings. Joy, Karen, and Jen were all great in getting everything ready for photos, open houses, and showings. We especially appreciated that Jen was there to help us with all the nitty gritty details when we were under contract and trying to tie up loose ends. She is very responsive, with great attention to details. Even after we closed, they were there for us when little things came up! read more

Joy Jacobs makes buying or selling real estate a Joyful experience. The wonder of working with Joy is the fabulous team she has put together. They are there for you every step of the way. This amazing team does the impossible. They closed an escrow for me that would have crumbled and fallen apart several times, if it weren't for Joy going above and beyond anything one could reasonably expect to get it closed. When Joy commits to sell your home, or find you a new one, she performs. You matter to her. I have purchased and sold dozens of properties over the years and never worked with an agent that I felt truly cared about at the level that Joy cares. She is determined to close your deal and takes it personally. It isn't "just a job". She shepherds the deal in a way that everyone feels taken care of and good about the transaction. When you hire Joy, you get a whole team working on your behalf, not just one agent. Each one on the team uses their own expertise to make sure you deal closes and you get the best treatment possible. Jen is a marvelous companion for finding your new home. I can't overstate the value of having a buyers agent, rather than get stuck working with an agent who is really representing the seller, not the buyer in a dual agency situation. If you are looking for a home, don't go it alone! Get Jen and Joy to help you find you new property and represent you all along the way. It doesn't' cost you a dime, the seller is paying the commission, but you know you have the best agents looking out for just you. I would not consider using another agent in Monterey County. I don't often write reviews on line, but I am so moved by the expertise of this team I just had to "share"! read more

This was our first home purchase and Joy made the process as easy and stress free as we could have imagined. Even before visiting California from out-of-state, it was apparent that her knowledge of the Monterey area real estate market was just incredible. When we met Joy, she took the time to show us a number of homes, always making us feel welcome and never rushed. She was receptive, extremely attentive, and always quick to reply to any questions. When our offer on a home was accepted, she continued to work so diligently on our behalf, in constant communication with our lender and title officer, to ensure that the escrow process went smoothly. We could not imagine working with any other agent and being this happy with our experience, and we would without a doubt recommend Joy to anyone looking to buy or sell a home in the area. read more
