I lived in NC all my life, and have a soft spot for Ingles along with other somewhat local businesses, but not in Marion, VA. Generally the most expensive grocery, this location as of the date of this review has many consistently rude employees including one manager. The shelves are often 1/4 empty, the store often looks as if it just finished renovations when none have been done, the meat is the most expensive in town without higher quality and prepackaged snacks for my kids for school or camp lunches, are astronomically priced and very often crushed or shaken half-to-crumbles when I open them which hasn't been the case elsewhere. I have encountered a manager- she had trouble with Single Digit math and behaved in a hostile way when realizing she was incorrect. There are many other grocery options for such a small town thankfully, Food City being my favorite for helpful employees and great sales and daily prices! read more

I have been purchasing cigarettes from Ingles for several years, because they were cheaper. I don't know what happened to their management or lack of management, but, for the last 5 weeks they have not had my brand (Salem Silver). I would always buy a carton per week. When I ask, they say they are on order. I have heard this remark for the last 5 times, once a week. This was really the one thing, that determined me to do my grocery shopping there. If they can't supply me with my cigarettes, I have no reason to go there and will need to shop somewhere else, for better prices. read more

The groceries were super expensive and my wife called out there and spoke to the manager "sammy" and he told her they would be happy to cash my payroll check if we made a purchase .....we chose $50 worth of their over priced items and made it to the check out and he denied even speaking to my wife at first and then said she was asking about a debit card. ....he lied to us on the phone and then he lied to our face at the store.....to avoid further inconvenience I didn't say anything offensive but I do want to say that he is a liar and we paid our neighbor $10 to take us to cash my weekly paycheck of $830 so his lies cost me $10 and my time and I want him to know that its okay I hold no grudges just please quit telling lies to get buisness lol after he told us he wouldn't cash my check he looked as if he wanted me to still make a purchase lol I left my items on the register and left I was pissed and I apologize read more

I'm a regular customer have been for many years. Employees & mgmt are extremely nice & friendly. When I've had an issue w/a product, I've been offered a refund or exchange. Restrooms are always clean & are checked often. Huge variety of products. Well lit, clean store & aisles are free of stock & clutter. Store is laid out well & have wide aisles. Love their sale prices & unadvertised sale prices! LOVE the pre-made salads. A lot of salad for the money! Variety of pre-made sandwiches & sub's & those are very good as well! Well lit, huge parking lot. Store can be seen very well from the road. Huge sign as well. Checkout times are fast. If more than 3 people get in line, a cashier calls for another register or more to be opened. I'm NOT related to anyone who works here, nor did I receive any incentive to write this review. read more

Marion Ingles is very nice. They are always willing to help find something. Their aisles are wide so there's no problem moving up and down aisles past other shoppers. The store is very clean. I do all my grocery shopping at Ingles. read more

Ingle's was also old, outdated and kind of dingy. The staff was also friendly, but the store was oddly laid out and really dark. With three grocery stores in a town of 6,000, I can't believe this place can stay in business. read more
