I enrolled in Liberty University's DBA program about three years ago after reading that students do…read morenot have to be Christian to attend. While that may be true, I found that nearly every course incorporated biblical studies and Christian perspectives into the curriculum. As someone who practices Buddhism and had no knowledge of Christianity, I found it difficult to relate to the course content and meet those expectations. After careful consideration, I decided to withdraw from the program because it was not the right academic fit for me. This was a personal decision based on my background and learning preferences, not on the quality of the university itself. I believe Liberty University is an excellent choice for students who are Christian or who are comfortable with a curriculum that integrates biblical teachings throughout the program. However, prospective students from other faiths or those seeking a secular business education should carefully review the curriculum before enrolling to ensure it aligns with their expectations.

(1) Lack of communication (calls and emails) after being accepted into the university is NOT a good sign. (1a) Questions not being answered or not being answered CLEARLY is NOT a good sign. (2) I heard from a student who is soon to graduate and they reported struggling to pass classes because they can't keep professors is NOT a good sign. Do not get me started on the dining experience here at Randolph College. In the past three years alone the quality and variety of the food has dropped tremendously. Students get excited when the food is fully cooked or not rotting in its place; at best the food is unappetizing and at worst it has sent students to the hospital. To alleviate the pressure on Skeller (the other dining option aside from Cheatham Dining Hall) they removed most of the options and raised all the prices so that students are forced to eat at the dining hall or starve. The professors are on average decent, at worst cooky and unorganized, but most are decent with decent classes that prepare students for their fields. Student life is ok, but worsening due to the surplus of underclassmen and lack of facilities to suit them. Local churches have begun to open their parking lots because there isn't enough room for all the students and staff to park. Freshmen are also being stacked into dorm rooms like sardine, with a few freshmen sharing a double with three people. Meanwhile, the science building is getting renovated instead of the condemned dorm hall-which is where they are moving the offices of the science professors. The rules about who is allowed to be a commuter and who is forced to live in the dingy housing (that comes with the expensive for what dining plan) are ridiculous. I have had friend who literally got married to save the money they were wasting on noisy neighbors and starving nights.

If you have a child with this diagnosis, they will deal with it no better than any public school has to offer. They do not understand, and very clearly displayed, that they have no interest in truly understanding. They treat anxiety and peaceful shut downs with threats and disciplinary action instead of following an established IEP. Worse, they will make you believe, especially the assistant dean, Tom Powers, that they understand and have a grasp of the issues, and give you hope after a long road. Only to do no better than your average public school system. Which is actually worse when you and your child think you may actually have found a safe, supportive space. I'm a mental health therapist and mom, with experience and education in working with autism. And I spent a considerable amount of time at this school. Much of the staff have beautiful hearts. But judgmental of what they do not understand and do not seek to understand. If your child has high functioning autism, look elsewhere, or if you give this a try and your child is struggling, it is not your child. This school is simply not equipped or willing to be equipped and educated in order to understand and act accordingly and appropriately in your child's best interests.
