Armando Morales is an exceptional person and compassionate, knowledgeable dog trainer. I have kept in touch with him since moving from NY to FL over two years ago and have visited him when in Saratoga. I am "mom" to Obie (Olaf, the Cemetery Dog), who spent the winter of 2014-15 trying to survive in St. John's Cemetery in Troy. (Google: VIMEO Meet Olaf from Out of the Pits) Armando's last email included the following: "Some dogs are lifelong projects and the work is a process, not a quick-fix solution". Along with specific training tools/techniques, this type of thinking allowed me to work with Obie to become the best he could be, not the best I wanted him to be. Obie is who he is and I have acknowledged that in certain areas, he cannot "give" anymore. He is very dog-reactive (having been attacked four times-once in a vet's office); he will never have play-dates. He is afraid of the wind and loud noises. He hates birds (they ate his food in the cemetery). Overall, Obie is always attuned to his surroundings, as if waiting for the next shoe to drop. Armando helped me to accept these challenges and we worked on recognizing triggers during walks, long-leash training (Obie initially wouldn't go more than a few feet away from my side), helping him to gain confidence in different settings, how to avoid stress by eliminating things in our home. I know I can text/email Armando anytime and get a response. I cannot recommend his methods or advice more highly, or his value to me as friend. read more

Our 5 year old Mastiff mix had struggled with reactivity for a while. We had worked hard on our own to try to manage her behavior but became stuck and didn't know what do do next. We reached out to Armando at the The Hyper Pup and it was one of the best decisions we have made. From the first time we made contact Armando was responsive, helpful and understood the issue we were having. We chose to send our dog for the board and train program. Armando was clear that our dog would be the same dog with the same issues but with proper training for her and for us she could be managed. He was absolutely accurate. Ruby came back with some new basic skills that Armando taught to us so that we could continue her training. She no longer drags me on the leash, she no longer charges guests at the door and she has also accepted the other dog that lives in our home with her. Armando did everything he said he would do. My dog had yet another wonderful time with The Hyper Pup! My husband and I had a race in the Saratoga area and thought it would be great for our dog to stay with The Hyper Pup again. Hattie is home! And--thanks to Armando at The Hyper Pup--she is our dear, sweet Hattie without all the constant frustrations. She no longer slams into doors and windows, knocks down couches or people, chases the cat, or runs away. We can actually eat a meal peacefully. Hattie no longer counter surfs or drags quilts from our bed out through the doggie door and into the yard. She runs free like the wind and stops on a dime when I call. I just got back from 5 nights away from my little "baby" and cannot say enough about how pleased I was with the Hyper Pup. I only have positive things to say about The Hyper Pup! My husband and I went up to Saratoga Springs for a concert, along with some friends and used The Hyper Pup for pet sitting for two days for two dogs. Michelle came over to meet both dogs prior to pet sitting. The fact that she took the time to meet the pups beforehand left a huge impression. It was important for her to get acclimated with both the dogs and the envt. Michelle helped us to figure out the best time slots for pet sitting, as this was my first time leaving our pup for that many hours at home. She made us feel at ease and even sent pictures when she was with our girl! Due to inclement weather, we had to change our plan a bit and Michelle was so flexible. The paperwork process was simple and we honestly had such a great experience! Armando was the person I was initially in contact with who was ease to get in touch with and coordinate things with.
