Paperwork was not given prior to appointment and important questions were not asked at all. I had a feeling in my gut to hang around for my pups first grooming experience here and I'm glad I did. Watched the camera feed to see my dog in the back room just hanging around for 15 mins before they attempted to put him on the table. He didn't react well to being in a new unfamiliar place with strangers who barely acknowledged him. Both groomers were busy with other dogs so I'm confused as to why they took my pup back if they didn't have the time or attention for him. I was happy to walk out of here before they even got to grooming my pup. I'll make sure to do more research to find a groomer that can handle anxious pups. The owner of this establishment is extremely rude and should rethink their approach to handling customers. I'm not sure how this business has lasted with such poor customer service. I'll never come back here and would tell anyone I know to not bother.​​

We adopted an un-trained 4 year old Olde English Bulldogge... a stubborn breed to say the least…read more.. and he liked to hump all new people... (funny but not funny) and was dog reactive to boot!! So we started looking into trainers... Thankfully I came across Upstate Canine Academy. After a very professional consult over the phone, we felt assured that this was the right place to bring our dog. We left him at the Academy for a 3 week board and train. Missed him like crazy. He came home understanding commands, don't get me wrong, it wasn't night and day, there was still a LOT of work to be done, but the work was really for us to continue the behavior instilled by the Academy trainers. We were given clear tools to work with him when they handed over the reigns. The incredible part about this facility is that they offer support for the lifetime of the dog after the board and train. (That is how assured they are of their program). Our dog has improved a lot since his initial training, and it is nice to walk him on a leash without his going ballistic when we pass by another dog... and a relief that he no longer humps our human guests when they visit our home! The staff at Upstate Academy are great. They are all dog lovers with an exceptional understanding of dog behavior. The place is clean, and you can be assured that your dog will be safe and happy while he is in training. This is a worthwhile investment.

After reaching out to have Amber return to daycare with a veterinary clearance, we received the following e-mail: Hi, We hope you guys had a wonderful weekend. We miss Amber as well and are happy to hear that her vet doesn't have any concerns. That being said, daycare can be extremely active, and messy as well during play (when pools are out, mud, etc), and we would never want Amber to get further hurt or sick in a vulnerable state. Due to her extreme and sudden onset of medical issues, we feel as a team that we can no longer provide the level of specific care Amber needs at this time. As much as we would love to continue seeing her, we feel that it would not be the best decision for her medically. I appreciate your understanding, I apologize for the inconvenience, and wish you all the best. WTF??? Is upper management now veterinarians too? Who are you to override a veterinary clearance? We thought that is why you have EVERYONE sign a waiver which releases you from liability. What we see here is ageism plain & simple - you do not want to attend to a senior dog who can walk, run & play because you have no staff and cannot be bothered oh, by the way, this is after we, as loyal clients did not sue you after our dog was severely attacked at daycare by a bully dog who had only just joined. Yes, we are loyal clients, we came back, we recommended you to others, you used our dog as a test dog for meets & greets with potential new clients! We have never been in arrears for payment, oh wait, we actually paid in advance! This is NOT how you treat clients! We will be taking our loyalty, money & sweet girl elsewhere, this is all on you, you should be ashamed as there is no reason why she cannot come back, but after the way you just treated us, never again at UCA.

She did not have any problems (and continues to be a wonderful dog and that's probably because we sent her to James). She had basic commands down. After James, she became excellent at multiple commands. She would sit at her bowl for hours if you don't release her (by verbal command). You can leave her with steak in the next room and won't eat it if you don't release her. You get the picture - James knows what he is doing and will set you, and your pup, up for success. He was very thorough in explaining what to expect and how to continue her training at home. We could not be happier. Our pup is also happy, and she loved James. When we brought her back for boarding a couple nights she couldn't wait to hang out with James. We had to save up to send her, and it was worth every penny. We would do it again. Highly, highly recommend. For any pup!

As a last ditch effort we called James @ Empire K-9 2.5 hrs away from our home. After 5 weeks of training with Ross he was transformed into the best dog we have seen anywhere. James spent a whole day with myself and my whole family to train us on how to handle and communicate with our new family member. Here we are over a year later and if we call James with a question he is quick to respond back with a helpfull answer. When we need to board Ross we drive him down to James @ Empire K9 2.5 hours away because he is the only one we trust with our Ross. Thank you James for this gift of being able to communicate with our deaf dog, you have no idea how much joy this little Miniature Bull Terrier bring to our family now.

She sent me the money to get Miley cremated so she could come back home which is $60 for the cremation. My daughter sent $80 so she could get her nose print and fur clipping. I called her while there and told her that the clay paw print was a extra $30. She said okay and asked for that as well. My daughter sent me the $30 for Miley's clay paw print. I and my daughter paid a total of $110 for her rabbit to come home. We paid on card and left Miley with APF. We trusted APF to make sure our wishes were fulfilled and granted. I was called yesterday August 19, 2026 towards the end of day that Miley had been returned and was ready for pickup. I was unable to pick her up yesterday so I went and picked Miley up today. I arrived at APF around 12:10pm. I walked in and picked up her remains. I was looking thru the bag when I noticed that the paw print was not there. So I walked back in and addressed the issue. They made it feel like I was lying to them and went and checked the receipt and saw that I did pay for it but never got it. Then they said that they will talk with the people tomorrow when they come in and I told them no because it wasn't going to fix the issue it's not like they can do her paw print now as she is cremated. I told them I wanted a refund. They asked me my address and I told them that they could refund it how I paid for it. They said that they aren't able to do that which I found highly aggravating. So they are mailing me a paper check. If this happened to someone who had lost a child in birth and they never did their child's hand and foot print an the child was cremated the parents and family would be highly upset and emotional. This is the same thing. Some people view there animals as there kids and treat them as such. There are no words in which we can express our aggravation, hurt, and there is absolutely no way they can ever correct this for us either. I'm shaking writing this because this is something that we will never be able to look at again. When I look at my dog's paw prints, my cat paw print, I an my daughter will never be able to look at Miley's paw print.

I could not find available appointments until months out and quotes for the surgery were anywhere between 4000 and 6000k, not including, x-rays, meds, and followup visits. I called VCA for the surgery even though it meant I would have to drive 2.5 hours from Syracuse for the appointments and surgery. Dr. Anderson was spot on. He was knowledgeable and thorough. Went over everything with me before the first appointment. Talked about payment and what was included (everything) and the very specific requirements for recovery and limitations. Surgery went well, I was updated and given x-rays with before and after the operation. The vet was in constant contact either by email or texts - sometimes calls. Every visit was scheduled with our travel distance in mind and our time was completely respected; we never had to wait and were often taken early. Dr Anderson is a pro at these surgeries and his knowledge and experience were apparent. He put my mind at ease and helped us navigate a very big surgery. The recovery and care for a dog after CCL surgery is extensive and time consuming, but it was SO SO worth it. My Tillie girl was unable to run and play and was in constant pain. To see her running, wrestling and playing with her dog friends made it all worth it. Thank you Dr. Anderson and everyone at VCA at Ballston Spa - from Tillie Amyot and her family!
