Restaurant is great if you like typical western type food, burgers, steak. We stop every time we go through here!

I had a few small and fairly unimportant issues while I was here but to me the most important thing…read moreis that the room was spacious and mostly clean. They are dog friendly with a $35 pet fee and that's important to me as well. The printer in the business center didn't work. Front desk staff said it was out of ink. The ice machine on my floor was out of order so I had to go to another floor every time I needed ice. The breakfast is nice but unfortunately during my stay the pancake maker wasn't working correctly, They had biscuits but no gravy and there were no juices on offer so your choices are coffee or tea. I thought the shower pan was stained but when I was in the shower I I scrubbed it a bit with my foot and the dirt came up. Everything else seemed clean though. None of those things are very important when you get a great night's sleep in a clean comfortable bed, which I did, so I left content and will probably stay here again in the future.

They have a good pool (although it's unheated) and a decent gym. As several other reviewers have mentioned already, the breakfast was one of the best parts of our stay! They had some healthy options, like oatmeal and egg white omelets, while they also had gluten free bagels! Thank you! It'd be great if they'd offer some vegan options too. The breakfast manager Linda is a true gem! She's so kind and helpful. Give the delightful Linda a raise! We'd definitely stay here again.

What a treasure! Wonderful communication before hand to set up our stay one night while passing…read morethrough this beautiful countryside. Our entire family was in awe of the beauty of the Prairie all around on the drive to this little slice of heaven. An old yellow house on a sprawling property. Our boys got to experience what it's like out in the countryside of this part of Nebraska. They fed llama's, swung in a big old tree swing, tossed some horseshoes and slept comfortably under the sound of a rainstorm on the roof. Everything is lush and green. Our hosts are very good people to know. We ate dinner at an old café down the road and enjoyed the burgers and chicken strips for the kids. The locals here treated us very nice. I found this little town remarkable and so rich in history that it overwhelmed my senses in a wonderful way. The sky at dusk and early morning are spectacular.

Their hospitality was outstanding: switching rooms when the first didn't suit, providing a generous spread of fresh fruit and homemade cinnamon rolls each morning, heating up baby food, lending us dishes for our barbecue, and then washing them afterwards...the list goes on and on. There's a lovely patio area, and a beautiful living and dining area inside. The lawn comes complete with lawn games and an old-fashioned tree swing. Dave will cook up fantastic meals to order and take care of your every need. Additionally, the small (nay, tiny) town is perfect for wandering, and features a lovely playground, a (sometimes open) swimming pool, a library that's open for a few hours on Tuesdays and Fridays, a one-man farmer's market on Friday, and the Most Unlikely Place, an art gallery and cafe that's lives up to its name. The few people you find here are kind, curious, sociable, and generally delightful. You'd think all this would come at a sky-high price, but the prices are equal to or better than any of the chain hotels in Ogallala. For about 20 extra minutes of driving off the beaten path of Highway 80, you'll find an oasis of peace, beauty, and goodwill. Be forewarned, though: one night here will have you wanting more!

My husband and I ended up staying at this hotel with our little girl dog for one night (for pets, up to two dogs or cats are allowed per room, with an 80 lb weight limit. The pet fee is $20 per night). We checked in yesterday early evening, around 5:15 pm. The employee at the front desk was friendly. Then after we got our hotel keys, we went back to our car and drove over to our room and were able to unload our car right in front of our room, which really is a nice feature (but please note that only those on the first floor have this option. There is no luggage dolly, in case you end up on the second floor). Unloading our luggage is actually from a back door entrance to our room, while there is also a front door that opens inside the hotel, which makes it convenient to walk over to the dining area for breakfast in the morning (breakfast is from 5:30 am- 9 am during the week days). We stayed in a double queen room (since the price was cheaper than a room with one king size bed). The room was clean. I did appreciate that there were plenty of towels in the bathroom and also liked that there was liquid bath wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower. It is also nice that the base of the hair dryer does turn into a night light when the lights are off. There is also a mini fridge in the room, but please note that there is no freezer (I always prefer a freezer in the mini fridge so that I can freeze a few water bottles to keep my food in my cooler cold when I travel to my next destination). With our sleep, the mattress was on the soft side. I prefer a much firmer mattress. The breakfast we had this morning was a little disappointing, some of the breakfast items were cold or at room temperature and should have been hot. The breakfast has sausage patties, previously frozen egg omelets, yogurt, various breads, milk (but are not individual cartons, you have to pour the milk from a pitcher), cold cereal, instant oatmeal packets, make your own waffles. Overall, I felt that staying here for one night was adequate. But I would have preferred something better for a longer stay.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And yet this location microwaves their bacon and…read moresausage thus destroying any nutritional value. And then let's the bacon or sausage sit in a pan soaking in the nasty grease the entire time. You literally have to pat it dry with napkins to eat it. The biscuits for their biscuits and gravy have been hard everyday for the last 10 days of my stay. And the gravy they put in a plastic bag in a crockpot on high boiling absolutely disgusting! Eggs are premade and just reheated. I thought OK I'll eat some of the muffins, but even they are hard, nasty and stale tasting. The TV channel service constantly would freeze up couldn't even watch a movie without it freezing up every 5- 10 minutes even though they reset it. I could go on because there's definitely allot more. Staff was great. Review reflects quality of breakfast and maintenance on the owner's behalf.
