Sweet Chili Shrimp Roll and Warm Butter & Mayo Lobster Roll
    Robert S.

I have not had lobster rolls except on my way to Afghanistan a few times with the military and we stopped in Bangor, Maine for fuel. The airport served fresh lobster rolls in their food court. I have been looking for a place ever since. The Hungry Captain met my expectations. The warm lobster roll with mayo and butter was excellent and my wife had the sweet chili shrimp roll. Both came with chips and a pickle. We also had the excellent shrimp bisque and sodas. We live very close and will be back again now that we've found this place.

The Hungry Captain Cape Corral 9-19-25 We just got back from Maine and had to stop by for some Lobster Rolls. When we walked in this place was very clean and neat as a pin. They had 2 kiosk or a large counter you can order from. Menu was laid out well and Mairelis who was working behind the counter could not have been any more friendly and helpful to us as it was our first time there. We both ordered the New England Maine Lobster Roll Combo. This Cold Lobster Roll came with Lobster on a Toasted Bun, Mayo, Chips, Pickle Spear and Slice of Lemon. I also ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder Soup. Our order was delivered to our table in reasonable time, it looked very appetizing. The Bun was overflowing of Lobster, and it was toasted to a golden brown just the way I like it. The Clam Chowder was amazing I just loved this Chowder and I believe it was the best I had in the Cape so far. Mairelis came back to check on us and even ask us if we wanted any Desert as they had Cheesecake and Tres Leches. I believe this place is a hidden gem and everyone needs to try it. As far as prices we just got back from Maine and the average price for Lobster Rolls up there were 28 dollars and ours were 24 here which is not out of line. You must put this place on your stop by list you won't be sorry I know we were not. I must give this place 5out of 5 stars. I for one can't wait to go back. So freaking good! The lobster is great and they have a bunch of different flavors for it. The staff is super friendly and one of the best lobsters rolls I have had in Cape Coral!

The servers were knowledgeable and super friendly. We ordered a lobster roll with Buffalo sauce and a shrimp roll with garlic. Both were delicious. The bread was sooooooo yummy toasted with butter. I texted all my friends and they are excited to try it. My shrimp roll was sooooooo yummy toasted big I took half of it home. See picture of to go box.

We started with the Boom Boom grouper bites and they were pretty good -- crispy, flavorful, and a great appetizer to share. I also had a cup of the clam chowder and it was amazing. Super creamy, really flavorful, and loaded with clams. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. For my entrée I had the lobster with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The lobster itself was good, just not the best I've ever had and a little on the tougher side. The mashed potatoes, however, were incredible and tasted totally homemade -- easily the best part of the plate. The broccoli was simple but good. Overall, a really enjoyable meal with great chowder, tasty appetizers, and standout mashed potatoes. If you're in the area and don't mind a short wait at a smaller spot, it's definitely worth checking out.

We were greeted quickly and given a table immediately, which was nice. Service was friendly and prompt and we never had to ask for anything while we were there. Food was good, but some things were better than others. Portions were humongous, and a real value for the money, especially when we first thought the prices were a bit high. We started with the calamari and the vegetable spring rolls. The calamari came with tartar sauce and looked like onion rings. They were OK, but I've had better elsewhere. The spring rolls were crispy, but a little soggy with oil. They tasted great though. The sushi rolls were large, even laughable when my daughter got two of them. My son got the red Thai curry, and it's really enough for two meals, easily. My pad also was twice the size of what I usually get at a restaurant and it actually tasted quite good. We probably won't be back because we are on vacation, but if we lived in the area, I would certainly come back for the food, the service, and the portion sizes.

I had a superb braised short rib on a mushroom truffle risotto. The short rib was clearly not a short rib ( I suspect a nice size serving of chuck, well trimmed and perfect cooked) because of its leanness and size. Whatever it was it was delicious. The risotto was perfectly timed and delicious as well. I chose the Billionaires Bacon as a starter. It was great and a very generous portion. Service (Katherine) was excellent.

When she finally came over we gave our drink order and put in an app. We ordered the calamari and I ordered an espresso martini. Both were great! She still seemed to be taking so so long in between ordering. Our whole dinner took over 3 hours from 7:30, passed 10 For dinner I ordered shrimp scampi which was also so so good and for dessert we ordered the cheese cake which was also solid! We were seated promptly on a recent Thursday evening, and scored a table overlooking the water. The restaurant wasn't remotely busy. Service was good, and we didn't feel rushed. I had the blackened salmon (8 oz) with 2 included sides, slaw and a baked potato. While there's a choice of sides, quite a few (including ones I might have chosen) have upcharges. My husband had fish & chips. Beer and house wine are reasonably priced. There are plenty of menu choices, including seafood boils priced by the half pound. My baked potato only came with sour cream; I had to ask for butter. I enjoyed the meal; the portion size was just right. My husband says his fish & chips dinner was among the best he'd ever had.
