Great service behind the bar and such friendly staff table serving. They made a fuss of our two youngsters who were about to do the Lego Walk. Barefoot across lego bricks. We loved the pub so much that, later that evening we returned after our warm feet walk. Once again, plenty of room to sit even though the pub was heaving with drinkers. Ordering, at the bar, our drinks which included three large glasses of red wine, Merlot I think. I was advised that for an extra £1, I could have the bottle which saved a few bob. So much so that after a very short while another bottle was ordered. Fantastic pub, good service, great food and absolutely fab staff both during the day and evening. They serve a really good pint of Tanglefoot in here and the locals are always happy to natter away at the bar with you. We had a really nice evening meal there recently. The staff couldn't do enough to help and the food was really well prepared. I had the fish cakes and they tasted really fresh indeed. They have an excellent New Zealand Sauvingon Blanc here which is a little pricey but worth every penny! There's more reasonable house wines available too and I'm sure they are just as good.
