I've been shopping at The Hook Outlet since they were behind Pizza My Heart on 41st Ave, and now at their newer spot across the street at 2175 41st Ave. There are a few reasons I keep coming back. First, their prices are consistently some of the best around. Second, I can usually get in and out in just a few minutes without any hassle. What really sets them apart from most dispensaries, though, is their customer service. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and always willing to answer questions or help me find what I need. It never feels like they're just trying to make a sale. Nick, Steph, and Alex recently helped me pick out a few products, and it got me thinking that I should finally leave a review. Over the years, there have also been a lot of genuinely kind people working there whose names I don't know, but they deserve recognition too. I've made friends through this place and am happy overall they are here. They do an incredible job creating a welcoming atmosphere and making sure I have a good experience every time I walk through the door. Great prices, great selection, and great service. I came in for dabs, usually knowing exactly what I want, but today I decided to try something different. Mellie was a huge help, as sometimes I struggle to explain what I'm looking for. I told her I wanted something high quality with great taste. At most places, they would've just sold me their house brand, but Mellie asked me an important question: "What are you smoking your dabs out of?" That was a great sales question, and at that moment, I knew I was in good hands. I told her I use a Puffco, and she mentioned that her husband is also an avid dabber and has a Puffco as well. She recommended I try 710 Concentrates, and it was a fantastic suggestion. The taste was amazing, and she explained that since it was badder, it would be easier to handle with my Puffco. The week prior, someone had recommended sauce, but that was a nightmare to deal with because of its watery consistency. Mellie deserves a raise. I haven't received customer service this good since I bought a new car (and that was because they were trying to sell me something). Mellie genuinely wanted to make my experience better, and I really appreciated that. 10/10, I would definitely return. If you go, make sure to ask for Mellie if you want someone who goes above and beyond just the transaction. read more

Been all over ! This is the best dispensary I have ever been in! The staff is amazing and the deals great!

"Maybe you should have done more research." I went in to purchase a "banger" and was sold a heating knife. New to dabbing, I went to a professional who assured me this specific ($30 All in One) pen was all I needed to smoke / dab. Unfortunately it's only a heating knife/ transport tool. I never used it or even held the actual unit in my hand out of package. The manager refused to take a return even though it's only been 3 days, the product was never opened and I've been a loyal customer for over 4 years. I asked if I could use credit towards the flower I was purchasing and he refused. Not even store credit? The manager made it very clear it's my fault I purchased the incorrect item and I'm out of luck. Maybe I should have done more research he stated. Please don't blame the customer for employee confusion or manager refusal to cooperate and do the right thing. As I calmly noted to the manager who seemed like he wanted to argue and blame me, I would not be returning to any of The Hook locations which greatly saddens me because they have what I need at decent prices. LOYALTY and CONVENIENCE are the main reasons I chose The Hook Capitola. Now I sadly need to find a new dispensary. read more

Stopped by this dispensary over the weekend. This a small dispensary with a little parking lot & friendly customer service. Reasonable priced pre-rolls & enjoyed the products I purchased. I did not like, the customer has to look at products on a tablet and pick out what you want from the tablet & the employee gets it for you. The customer is not in control of the tablet & cannot touch the tablet. The employee has to select or scroll through the tablet for you. I probably would have bought more products & spent more $$$$ if I was able to see everything on the shelf. Personally, I like to be able to pick my products myself and then bring to the register to get checked out. read more

Website had some glitches and I called in... OMG the staff here is beyond amazing. Caroline was quick to resolve my issue and then I got a follow up call from Zack who I have to say is probably the best upsale guy around. I ended up buying more product and was instructed on how to skip the line when I arrive. Talk about making life easy. They o may accept cash and I stop at the bank before dropping in but they have an ATM in their lobby if you "forget". Overall the hook outlet has great options at really great prices but their customer service is the best seller in my book. Happy toking! read more

The hook is great! I was helped by a very lovely person named Talula, they were very positive and patient while helping me. The service here is great, they are very knowledgeable & friendly. I was happy to get good product for great prices! (& if you are worried about timing, we know how Santa Cruz service can be(very slow)- they are great about managing the line efficiently and even have an option to skip the line by ordering online in advance (allow 15 min for your order to process b4 picking up & hit the button if there's a line outside)) This is a great local business that is very obviously pro-community so let's be fans of them as the community! read more

I met Faby my first time there and I explained the neck & back pain I was trying to find relief for without getting "too high" or hangover-ish effects.
