Mr. Woodmansee inspected our home in Clemmons, NC. My wife and I are the most laid-back people you will ever meet. His report missed 5 or 6 major, and potentially harmful, problems with the house. For example, there was no ceiling light at all in the kitchen...just exposed wires where the light fixture used to be, yet his report said that the kitchen light worked! Another example...The very first time we ran the water into the bathroom tub on the second floor, water came rushing down through our kitchen ceiling on the first floor. No mention of that in his report. In fact, he gave the house a shining review. We were actually shocked by his mistakes because he touted himself constantly. He said that he did the most lengthy and thorough inspections in the business. He constantly mentioned how long he had been doing it for. As I said, we are laid-back and believe that anyone can make mistakes. I called him to discuss the oversights, and I was super polite about it. I hadn't even mentioned that anything was wrong yet, when he started reacting. Here is how it went...."Hi Mr Woodmansee, you recently inspected a house for me and I want to know if you have a few minutes to discuss some things from the report that you issued?" Then, a whole bunch of deep sighing by Mr Woodmansee, as if he was doing me a favor by even being on the phone with me. Then he launched into this lengthy speech about how good he was at what he did, etc. It was obvious that he knew what I was preparing to say. We subsequently asked other realtors about him and they all had the same reaction..."Oh no, why would you choose that guy?". This man needs a lot more humility and to pay closer attention to what he is doing. Anyone who is actually good at what they do doesn't need to constantly tell people how good they are at what they do. Maybe he was just having a bad day. It wasn't so much his mistakes as his attitude, though. read more
