The worst Home Depot in America. Won't honor a gov't issued VA card unless it says "Service Connected" (most others will when shown the card). I'm a Vet with a legit ID card, but I guess because I was lucky enough not to be disabled, my service doesn't count in the eyes of this HD. In addition, dealt with three of the nastiest associates. Rude with a side of bad attitude. The woman who was cutting my lumber snapped at me when I asked that she ensure it was exact (I saw that it wasn't flush against the guide so it wouldn't be the 90 degree cut I needed). As it turned out, it was cut wrong (bad angle, as I tried to suggest to her). Cashier never said thank you and I bagged my own hardware because she just left it there on the counter while she cracked her gum and stared at me. Run as fast as you can to any other home store other than this one. Clean up your act, Home Depot. Your service is horrible and you are insulting to veterans. read more

If I could could I would only give 0.5 stars. Went to this store with full intention of buying two major appliances. Walked around for about 15-20 mins, multiple staff walked by and didn't even acknowledge me. Not your department, cool, I get it but it was pretty obvious I was looking for help and not even the mention of "hey let me see if someone is around" after looking at me several times. Nope, instead I called the customer service desk while standing in the appliance section only to be told the appliances person was on break. Let me start with the nice part. The lady at the resister who was really friendly and helpful. Then the bad and the ugly. An older gentlemen employee wearing a team caption badge in the plumber isle, gave me a huge eye roll when I asked him to rethread an end to a pipe I was purchasing. Then begrudgingly he took the pipe and announced that he got paid no matter what he did. In the end he tried to thread the pipe and announced that a part was broken on the machine. I really dont what is going on with that Home Depot. I cannot fimd anything anymore. I just went to buy a dremel rotating tool and they only had one model in stock. I starting looking for help and nobody working at that store. Not the first time I cannot find someone to help. This Home Depot has the nicest staff of any hardware store around! I have visited this store at least 20 times in the months since we moved to Newark and have never had a bad experience. I placed a special order of a shower base and shower door at home depot in Newark del received email that the order was ready for pickup. We purchased a kitchen and when the cabinets were delivered they had many defects from the manufacturer. Half the cabinets were replaced and the rest had new door and drawer fronts shipped. There were two other orders that came with defects from the factory. Very poor quality controls. Very poor follow-up from the cabinet rep. There was also one order with incorrect parts. This tied us up for two months and we started the process over with Lowes. It also tied up our garage for storage. I had to take time off numerous times for deliveries, site visits, etc. read more

I have been dealing with some flooring issues since November 7, 2017. After several follow up voicemails and emails to the flooring department (COS), USIG installation group, and even the general manager (last email sent on Thursday, December 14, 2017, still no response from anyone. I sent another email very early on Wednesday, December 20th. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered. My husband and I spend a lot of money at Home Depot but now regret giving them our business. I will begin patronizing your major competitor (yes, the "blue" store) for our future needs. And yes, my floor issues are still there because no one has followed up with me to this day. If zero stars was and option for this review, I would have picked it. I would say this Home Depot is patchy. Some extremely helpful staff members, and more than a few pretty terrible ones. Definitely beware of bad/entitled attitudes. One time I asked if they had any catalogues of the bathtubs I could look at since the online pictures are difficult to decipher and her only answer was a rather rude "no." Really? Well f$&k it I found a better one through Lowe's as well as a toilet and vanity. They were way nicer and all those box stores have the same stuff. I could name names of rude employees but they probably need to hold onto their crap jobs to pay off drinking habits. Beware of Bill in the Pro Department tho, he is arrogant, half-informed, and kind of rapey. Made me extremely uncomfortable on several occasions. I will not be back despite some very excellent employees. The Do It Best hardware store in Elkton is my go-to unless I absolutely need something at the HD. read more

Misrepresented granite countertop color and pattern variability. Delivered a gray color when we had ordered a creame color with brown accents. Delivery guys were non communicative thugs. We did not feel comfortable in our own home while they were there and we couldn't refuse the product or have it replaced later. Also it was installed wrong so had to be fixed. Customer service refuses to replace it. When we called corporate they said they would and had us sign agreement but now will not return calls. Horrible experience. IF I could give ZERO stars I would ! With the exception of the nice ladies at the front desk, this place is the WORST. I stopped over to pick up a few things and good luck finding anyone to help- or finding anyone who CARES !! I finally gave up and walked out. I saw two schlubs hanging around the cart area, one was sitting in a handicapped buggy and the other one was leaning against the carts, when I mentioned that having a skeleton crew causes people to walk out, they really could not have cared less. They snickered at me and gave me a half-hearted, sarcastic "have a nice day". Whoever the store GM is, he/she is doing a lousy job. They hire the wrong people, they don't schedule enough to handle the customers or be there to answer questions. It is disgraceful. I ordered a floor and installation from home depot. Half way threw the job I noticed large seams in between the flooring and defects on the product being used. I asked them if there was something to correct this and they told me that was the way it was suppose to be. I asked them to call their manager because the display at the store didn't look like this and I was told this product was better than ceramic tile and was 100% waterproof. After many many phone calls and four different managers coming to look at the floor I was refunded my money, but mean while it took two weeks and I couldn't use my kitchen, laundry, or bathroom because of the slow process and I had to call everyday to keep things moving. my whole house had a film of dust on everything and you could taste it in your mouth because they didn't use something to block off area. I picked out a second flooring (ceramic tile) and was charged almost 5,000 on my home depot card1/4 threw the job the installer called me into the kitchen to tell me he has been spending 20 minutes on every two tiles and cant get them two line up because the tiles are defective they are not the same size as it says on the boxes when they measure and he is done an is calling his boss and refused to finish the job this was on Thursday at 2 o'clock I called store left a message to what was going on and to please call me back. no call back till 4'o clock and was told they couldn't get an answer for me till Saturday morning at 8. I did not get any answer so at 2 ' clock I started calling leaving messages. Finally the store manager called me I told him I was done to just refund my money and come pick up what supplies they have at my house. he said he was new at this store and to give him a chance to make it right he would be there for me every step of the way. he would make sure new product would be delivered by the store personally by 8 am and installers would be here by 8 am Monday morning and he would call me threw out the day to see how everything was going. Monday morning I was up bright and early 8 o clock came and went. I call 10 o'clock and left message no call back installers got here at 11 45 and they had to get product from home depot and there was a long wait nothing was ready. the whole reason we were remodeling kitchen was because we were putting our house on the market and we have had two postpone putting our house on the market three times. Cancel our vacation and reschedule the counter top company twice. since we have had no kitchen we have had two order in our food and take our laundry to laundry mat. that has cost us a lot of additional money. We have damages to my wall and cabnets and back door. I would never ever use home depot again. To many broken promises and defected products along with my husband and I had clean up to do every day! read more
