Doesnt answer questions asked and tries to force his opinion of what i need on me. This store goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. I have been remodeling my kitchen and have bought all of my appliances through them. A silly amount of appliances have had mechanical issues. Not only has this location accepted my returns, but has also assisted me in scheduling a free pick up to get the heavy appliances back into the store, as well as physically taking them out of my car to haul inside. And never a side eye or complaint. Just kindness every time. I will never buy a home appliance from any other location. read more

Buyer Beware!! Due to the Christmas tree shortage this year, we were forced to buy a tree free Home Depot. Not only is the tree dying, but some idiot cut all of the main branches on this Fraser Fir! Folks like fir trees for the undulation of it's branches that lends it perfect for decorating with larger ornaments and dangly ornaments. $189 later, as I'm trying to put lights on this poor tree, I realize that I'm going to have to chunk the tree!! It is obvious that somewhere through the process, someone took electric hedge clippers and "trimmed" all of the main branches. All that's left are the little baby inner branches.I'm calling and getting a refund. read more

Being in constant need of a large hardware and supply store makes it difficult to put a true review out on a particular location. Home Depot Destin is hit or miss for the last 16 yrs I've lived here especially now! The current store MGR is short of every quality of a even sub par Retail Manager. ***Last 12 mos. Employees are always extremely helpful and friendly. A+++ Last Aug 2021. I had bought a pellet grill. Had a lot of issues so I returned the grill to my Home Depot in Destin w/ the intention of returning for a store credit. The Manager told me I had to take it home to clean it first. The Grill was CLEAN and Pretty as it was when we purchased it. I remained cool and calm. Summer Traffic was impossible and I was getting A NEW GRILL THAT WORKED!!! I offered to pressure wash it at the store for him. He scoffed and said I'll have to rent a PR and take it home.(SUPER RUDE ABOUT IT). I was calm. Asst mgrs and employees were apologetic and embarrassed. As soon as The Store Mgr went back to his office. The asst at customer svc Returned the grill and gave me a store credit for not having my receipt. I did buy a new gas grill that day. We ordered a dishwasher from a Destin Florida area HD and paid for installation and take away of broken DW. The company contracted did not show until after the 4 hour delivery time given. They came in and took the broken dishwasher out but then said that they could not complete the installation. We were told that they needed a bigger hole for installation of hoses. That they did not do the electrical even though they did disconnect the original. They also left water leaking underneath as they left the home without finishing the installation and leaving the kitchen sink now unusable. We want a resolution. We paid for a new appliance with installation, parts, and disposal of broken appliance. Update 12-8-2018 am: Called HD.... refund requested. They opened a case. We still don't know the name of the company hired to install it. The two individuals were a "Sherman H and Driver Daryl" who left it uninstalled. Bottom line, if they didn't know how to install it.... they shouldn't have taken the job. HD states they will refund us on the installation. We will update if we get it. Talk about the best help received by these gentlemen, Rodney and Demetrius. Unfortunately, I had to return a range to Home Depot. Right from the time we arrived, where Roger met us, to several people trying to figure out a way to obtain a refund. Demetrius was able to achieve this for us. After two long hour's, incredible patience on everyone's part, Demetrius was able to retrieve everything and a refund was furnished. This isn't my first experience with Demetrius either. I had to replace a complete patio and Demetrius was most helpful. He always knows what he is doing and also makes sure you have a great shopping experience. Nice store, well stocked and the staff that are working there are nice, HOWEVER, there are a few problems 1. There are no staff working most time to help or to help answer questions. 2. We purchased a high-end Samsung front loading washer & dryer from this store and it was not fun returning them. The washer did not clear the rinse water from its lines and there was a faint mildew smell that lingered and got worse, after I washed clothes. My Whirlpools brand never did that so I asked the store manager to return them and I would then purchase the Whirlpool brand. The manager informed me that the Home Depot only leases space to vendors and they do not purchase the items for sale and therefore I would need to deal with Samsung directly. Because I had exceeded 90 days by a month, Samsung refused to return the units even though they were defective. Needless to say it took me months to get a credit and have the units returned and the only reason they were returned was because American Express sided with me. I must say, Michele and Melton were lifesavers! These two employees went above and beyond to help me with my purchase of patio chairs. They kept me informed as they located the chairs in boxes, had to move other merchandise to free up space to retrieve the large boxes from the top shelf in the garden center, and as they navigated the best way to get them to my car. I might add, before Michele helped me, a separate employee (female) before her seemed too busy to help and suggested I buy the chairs online. I think Tom from lumber should be recognized as the standard for customer service. I was there with my two young children to pick up some wood for a garden project. He helped me get the wood I needed, then assisted me through the store to the garden center and helped me choose the correct soil/fertilizer, loaded it, and then helped me check out. He then waited with my materials while I pulled my car around and loaded everything for me. I was very appreciative of his services and he was very nice and knowledgeable about all the products, even those outside of his department. Thanks Tom! read more

When you have problem with appliances you purchase here...lol, get ready for pass the buck and sorry i cant help you resolve your problem. Will never buy another appliance from Home depot. You buy a 2,000 fridge and forced to add a ice maker hose under threat of warranty loss...but when the "us pack" installs fridge they cant put water hose on lol why its too short, HD knows this and does not bother to make sure length for correct fit...they just send a 12" so im sure most folks dont get hose hooked up. I live in Ft Walton and visited destin store on a trip and bought the fridge...but when installed in my home the installer gave me the hose and said just return to any HD...my ft walton store cant refund my card so to get the 18 bucks back I must drive 2 hr round trip to return it plus gas...the manager at destin store was completely non sympathetic or caring and it was their issue making me get a hose that installer brings and cant put in but hands to buyer and says just return it lol....HD is on the road to losses because all my business from here on out will be with lowes or another store that don't rip off customers like this. Shameful but for each person HD wrongs will cost them in the long run. read more

Entered the store today and after wandering around in the appliance section for 20 minutes looking for an employee, I found a disgruntled Karen employee who had been chatting with 2 ladies for the 20 minutes we had been waiting around to order a Washer and Dryer. The customers chatting seemed to have no intention of purchasing anything at the time, yet the employee let us know she was helping 3 others and that I don't deserve help just because I am ready to check out. The employee sits down after tossing things violently onto her desk so she can order the washer and dryer. (At this point if I hadn't had 600 dollars in credit at Home Depot I would have gladly gone to Lowe's). The employee then asks all of her questions with a very irritated tone and vile attitude until the conclusion of the order, where we both unhappily departed. I tried to call a manager while in store but that took forever to reach someone, so we left with the feeling that we aren't wanted to return. I have concluded that without some kind of compensation to my order for this terrible experience your employee decided to put us through, that will be the last encounter I will put myself through at Home Depot. 0 out of 5 Stars today. read more

Our refrigerator and freezer had to be uninstalled this morning, unexpectedly! At 9 AM, found a stand alone freezer at Home Depot/Destin FL to save our food, and the day, and paid $35 for same day delivery, as a lot was going on!! At 5 PM, we called to check on freezer and was told it was still on it's way! At 8 PM, we called and it was still in the store! We canceled our order, as the food wasn't going to make it to next day. They were more than anxious to accept our cancellation. Lesson here: Try another Home Depot location or try Lowe's. Same thing happened to our dishwasher delivery. I give up. read more

I am not sure why this place has low stars. It was actually nice to come in and see how well its taken care of. I dont feel like I come out with a layer of dust, which has happen once at a Home Depot in the area I live. You can practically get anything you need here to do quick fixes at your place... .and the staff that helped me walked with me from one end of the store to the other side just to make sure I was able to locate what I needs. Don't use Home Depot. We paid $35 to schedule our carpet measure appointment, called to confirm the day before ---and then drove almost three hours to be at the location for measuring. We had been told that they would call between 7 and 9am to give us a window as to when they would arrive. When we didn't receive that call, I called and they said that there was a glitch in their system and they wouldn't be able to come today and there was nothing they could do. Won't be using Home Depot because can't rely on them. Not the first problem that we have had with them. We have spent tens of thousands with them but, the past couple years, lots of problems... I love them for many reasons, if you ask someone for help they will show where the item is, Lowe's points you in the direction, HD doesn't have any goofy hang ups about their doors, you can come & go through any door, Lowe's makes sure you can't go back in if you forget something without going all the way back to the in door, HD has people who like to talk plants with you, Lowe's doesn't have anyone that I've found and finally, HD doesn't trick you with their debit swipe & ask if it's credit then make you start over. I've spent thousands of dollars at this store ( window coverings, countertops, washers, dryers, refrigerators, mini refrigerators, paint and supplies, and the list goes on for my rental condos. with pretty good results. Imagine my surprise when I stopped by to buy new window coverings in the store today. I was told by the very busy sales lady that she could pull out the LOCKED UP window covering books when she finished with her customers. These have NEVER been looked away from customer access in the past, I've spent hours perusing the books as I made by decisions. After waiting impatiently over a period of time without resolution, I asked for the manager. A man showed up that I seriously doubted was management material and he proved me right. I explained how the sales lady was ver6 busy and I wanted to see the books. He essentially told me to go pound sand. The books were locked up and he, THE MANAGER, couldn't do anything about it. He had to do what his management wanted ( to hell with customers). He didn't offer to unlock the books so I could order window coverings, he essentially said his hands were tied. How many real managers would say that. Why not say he, as manager, could unlock the books and let me see them. Sound sort of stupid? It does to me. Most managers would say something like " yes my employee IS busy, let me see if I can get them for you. No the DA didn't have the common or business sense to care about a customer. Don't know if this guy is new or old but his type of. Management is bound to take the store down the tubes. read more

Save yourself the hassle. I ordered appliances, scheduled a delivery, took off work to be home when they said they would be there. I waited till 8pm on the said day, and not only did they not show, no one called or communicated that they were not going to be there. I had called in the morning to confirm and they assured me that the appliances were on the delivery truck. Called today to find out what happened, why they didnt deliver and when I could expect my purchases! No one could tell me why,, and they rescheduled for THREE DAYS LATER! Home Depot does not hold their delivery sub contractors to a standard of good customer service and no one cares that you will sit home all day (taking time off of work) to get a delivery. I applied online for position at this location. I made several attempts to speak to someone on the phone but no one would ever answer. I finally got ahold of a voicemail of who I thought was the manager and left a message after a week no one returned my phone call. I finally got bored and went over there to speak to the HR person and no one seem to have a clue of where this person was or when they came to work. So I'm holding and no one answered so the automated greeting came back on, then the same female answered sounding still annoyed that she has a job, and again I ask "do you guys rent steam cleaners". This time I only got a loud sigh and then I was transferred. I mean really? I'm sorry that I called the store during operation hours and you had to do your job. Home Depot was recommended as a helpful store to provide knowledgeable advice for yard and garden issues. I entered Home Depot with an analysis of three locations on my yard with recommendations as to was my yard was deficient of. I was greeted and told to ask for Bill as the person most knowledgeable about what fertilizer I would need to use. Bill took a very cursory look of 3 seconds of the first page of my report and responded to my question about what commercial fertilizer would best match my reported deficit elements as "we don't carry commercial fertilizer" but that he could only show me what was on the bags of fertilizer. I guess I don't understand what I should have asked for when I asked about commercial fertilizer. I then asked Bill if there was anyone who could help me with a fertilizer recommendation that would align with what my report said was needed. He said NO. At that time, I left with a determination that I would no longer use Home Depot. I did not get any impression that Bill as interested in helping me at all or even showing the courtesy of at least reading the first page. read more

I called to inquire about an AC unit that online showed they had 1 in stock. I was there they day before and didn't see this particular item and decided to call to see if the AC was in stock before I drove over there. Call #1 was to the appliance department where the individual working refused to look the product up to verify it was in the store. He basically said if I didn't see it in the store the night before, then what good would it do for him to look it up? Call #2 was to the customer service desk who as I was telling her I wanted to see if an appliance was in stock, immediately blew off what I was saying and transferred me back to the guy that refused to look it up for me in the first place. Call #3 was back to customer service and disconnected after I went through all the telephone options. Call #4 to customer service where she also refused to look the AC unit up to see if it was in stock telling me that even though it may show they have one in stock online, that may not actually be the case at the store. Well, less than desirable customer service to say the least! Home Depot Destin lost my business after all that buffoonery and I drove all the way to PCB to buy the very same AC unit where they went above and beyond to get the AC unit down from the shelf and loaded in my truck. read more

I just wanted to say that today my boyfriend and sister in law and i went to home depot in Destin,fl. While looking for things for my boyfriends niece we met Debbie. She was amazing ! She was so helpful and while we were looking for tools for a child she was so excited about our chirstmas gift ideas. Then she told us she would be back. She left and came back with an apron from the children's workshop and some extra kits. It really made our night. I have gone to this home depot several times and always had a good expiernwce. My dryer broke and the only laundry we have in town closed 5 minutes before I could get there to dry my sons clothes for school in the morning.
