I've been going to the herbal path for many years. The staff is very knowlagable & helpful. I had a weird medical issue with my mouth & lips and after going to the 2 specialist including a biopsy I still had no answers as to what was going on. I went to the herbal path & one of the employees recommended 2 products for me. Within 2 weeks I found improvement! I also had severe acid reflux for several years & refused to take a pharmaceutical for it. Once again I got great advice, bought was suggested & for 3 years I haven't has any reflux! They have great sales, so as soon as I see the vitamins & probiotics that I take on sale I stock up. I highly recommend The Herbal Path. read more

A cute little herbal store that I spent way too much time in! They have so much of everything that I loved it. I stared at the different soaps and oils for maybe 10 minutes. They carry all sorts of brands and varieties which I liked, but also made it hard to settle on one! They have good selection of teas and herbs, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I came by with a friend who was looking for something that would help her knees and one of the staff recommended a certain herbal mixture for her and then measured and mixed the herbs for her. She mentioned it was cheaper to do it that way, and the bag everything was in had barcodes for each ingredient, as well as how much of each ingredient, just so it would be easier for next time. I was particularly excited to see that they carry a brand called plantlife, which I had only been able to find online in the past. This is s a cute little store that I would recommend to all that are interested in natural/herbal products. read more

I went in for the first time today! I have to admit it was a little overwhelming but they have done an excellent job labeling all their sections! The staff were very friendly and let me wander at my leisure. They checked to make sure to see if I needed help finding anything but they did not hover or make me feel uncomfortable. Love checking this place out, at least every other week for new "keto" finds and just to browse. I always end up leaving with something. They carry my favorite, G-Butter! When I step into this place it makes me happy. I stop and inhale...I love the smell of this place. I used to love going to Chic and Maries Earth Treasures down in Milford years ago, so much so I met a lot of wholistic folks in the area there...this place evokes the same feeling of home. Their selection is fantastic, and prices are so much better than Portsmouth healthfood's supplement section. The energy is great here, the folks that work here know their stuff and are colorful and kind. I have never not found what I stopped by for here, that says something. I am watching them slowly grow and add items. I am hopeful they will stick to the same theme, and continue adding to the health of the region by sharing knowledge and good quality products. read more

I'm all for this kind of store and spend a ton of money on these products. Im also in the area very often so stopping in to grab items is never a problem, but I found a new place now. It's a shame because I still love going to grab lunch next door. The older woman here is so rude. I felt like an idiot checking out with her condescending demeanor. And then she refused to sell me the $8 medicine because it wasn't over $10; and I didn't have cash. I looked everywhere for a sign saying credit card minimums, but found nothing. I did see a letter to customers explaining their financial loss from accepting cards, but it didn't specify an amount. Ditch the old lady and join this day and age or people will go elsewhere. You're not the only health store in the area. read more

I used to stop in here, but never got great service so I stopped. Today I was in need of a couple items & knew they would have them so I stopped in. The older red-headed woman asked if I needed help finding anything when I walked in, but then acted inconvenienced when I did ask questions. I'm pretty sure she rolled her eyes at me during a simple, basic checkout too. I would have left without purchasing, but didn't want to have to look somewhere else. I see that nothing has changed as far as customer service so I won't be returning. read more

They actually came up to me at 10 minutes before closing to tell me they'll be closing in 10 min. Followed me out the door and as I was walking out had stopped to pick up a pamphlet real quick and they stood over me until I walked out and then locked the doors before I barely got my foot out. My car clock said 6:31. So, I made them stay open one minute too long. What has happened to the hard working folks that would like to offer good customer service and at the same time reap the rewards of a business transaction by being a little more patient and willing to graciously accept business. There are other places like this health food store out there, and so I will seek them out. read more

Unfortunately nothing is marked with a price, they will price-shame you at the register. Kind of an old school tactic. It would appear only rich people can afford to go organic! This is a review of my shopping experience within the Dover, NH branch of your store. Before I went to the store I called to verify they carried sleep/anxiety aid products, the man who answered the phone sounded uninterested in helping me I advised him I simply wanted to know some ingredients of the supplements without valerian root or melatonin as neither of these have worked in the past for me... he in more or less words said he was too busy and told me to come into the store, I said I wanted to research first, and he again just told me to come into the store, without allowing ability time to research the products before wasting gas to drive there.I went in with the intent of buying something for my sleep/anxiety issues as prescription meds are not helping, nor are my doctors. I was particularly interested in their passionflower/skullcap as bulk herbs. As I wanted to start with low doses of passionflower on its own rather then mixed tincture. Through my research I found passionflower to be a mild MAOI, meaning it inhibits certain chemical breakdowns in your system, so not wanting any reactions, as can be common on MAOI, like Seratonin Syndrome, when mixed with other herbs(including herbs listed on the above mentioned "Mixed Tincture" One of those other herbs being a kava extract, or even some foods/drinks which most Americans consume on a daily basis can cause this often deadly symptom.They were helpful in directing me to a book with info on this plant among others, although the book didn't specifically state whether it was an MAOI, it did indicate it could have adverse effects with other drugs, including but not limited to potentiation, a key indicator of an MAOI. That being said I'm not here to dispute the authenticity of any Wikipedia article, as everyone knows its a open source editable webpage. However in this particular case it seems to be legitimate and you can search for it on google for further reference please note the below paragraph: "Many species have been found to contain beta-carboline harmala alkaloids,[13][14] which are MAO inhibitors with anti-depressant properties. The flower and fruit have only traces of these chemicals, but the leaves and the roots are often more potent and have been used to potentiate the effects of mind-altering drugs. " I voiced this concern to numerous staff members including the onsite herbalist who was very kind and seemed knowledgeable enough, however when weighing the order he voiced outloud the weight in numerical value of the herbs, as 26Grams (including the bag) using a scale meant to weigh in pounds. I indicated that it should be 28 grams, as they label it as an ounce he assured me it would be 1/16th of a LB. (28 Grams) of both Skull cap and Passionflower. I purchased the herbs for roughly 4 dollars which is a very reasonable price. for 2 Oz of what appeared to be fine quality herb, not having tested I cannot say for sure though. I immediately upon arrival at home used a digital scale used for even MILLIGRAM weighing from 10MG-100Gram calibrated accurately to within 50 MG of a 100G weight, obviously more accurate than their LB scale for weighing an ounce. Unopened I placed both bags on the scale one came out to be 25.65Grams With the bag meaning just the herbs were probably 24Grams assuming typical bag weight of that size to be about 1.5G and the other came out to be 24.30 meaning less than 23Grams of that herb. I immediately called the company eager to resolve this and simply wanting what I paid for 2 Full oz. Standardized weight of something I purchased. The attendant on the phone sounded happy to assist and within minutes I was back at the store. Assuming I would just have to show them the weights on my scale have them counter weigh on there scale and get either a refund or what I was preferring was simply to have the additional 4-5 Grams of herbs that was missing from EACH BAG of the original purchase. again a total of 7-9 Grams of herbs missing from a 56 Gram purchase is not something a US Certified scale should miss. I was greeted with what seemed like a proper customer service based attitude by a at first polite sounding woman with short/dark hair, she was polite at first then slowly progressively had a tone in her voice with a bit of bite in it, almost guilt tripping me indicating that its there policy to not refund bulk herbs, but they would to ensure that I was a "happy customer" over 4 $ I assured her I understood the implications being brought up and apologized for the inconvenience that its just the principle I should be paying for what was advertised. In short I just wish you would inform your staff and herbalist 1) You have a mix for a sleep aid which could potentially cause harmful effects mixed with even normal diets (There should be a warning label if not more informed associates), and 2) Customer service should be number one, I don't think I will be shopping here again unfortunately. read more
