My only reason for…read morenot the five stars is the food that they served my mom when I transported her from New Orleans. In my family, dumping a family member in a nursing home is a sin!! But the Libby Bortz Center is very good in their care. I felt guilty during at that time, but I just sold my home in Five Points and moved south to Littleton so my mom would more be more safe and I know friends that can take care of her while I'm at work. But the center is excellent in its care and also designed for people with low to moderate incomes and your timing has to spot on to get a temporary room. You will see an older TV in the room on my photo - it did have a remote control with it.

He says this is his home now and he will never leave until the end. This is a beautiful clean facility that does not smell like many other senior homes. A month after moving into his room he had to have Open Heart Surgery. His motivation was the loved he had already received in his "new family at Libby Bortz". The love and amazing care given made him recover faster to get home. The staff sent him cards and called to see how he was doing. I could have never imagined a place to take such good care of my dad. Every Friday they come in and clean his room and take his laundry to be cleaned. They strip the bed and put clean sheets on the bed. When I say they clean, they really clean thoroughly. The pictures, blinds everything is spotless. Then the clothes are returned and folded very nicely. In the dining room they are given assigned seating which my dad loves as it feels like a family. The food is always delicious and the wait staff treats him very special. They make sure all are accounted for at meals which means a lot to our family. He is given a snack at bedtime so it is just more love given to check that he is doing fine. They have activities daily which he likes to attend including exercise class. They do it all from haircuts to a foot clinic and a in home doctors group comes in every few weeks. Libby Bortz is a shining example of what senior care should look like. Infact, they should be the model for our country. It shows how good management and a good price point can bring together people to love our seniors as they age. Aging with dignity and love is this wonderful facility.

The staff are very sensitive to the patient's needs; but luckily they still laugh at my stupid jokes. The quality of care by MHA is no less than the care you should expect from any service provider. Just FYI, I have had roughly seven (7) trips in MHA. Thank you all. A job well done.

I have had sleepless nights thinking about the unprofessional, horrible treatment I received and I'm talking to my lawyers about how to proceed. I have time to decide if I actually want to sue - or if I want to move on to avoid extending the harm and trauma this terrible company has caused me. I was sick in Colorado with a sickle cell crisis. I had to transfer hospitals and Mile High Ambulance was the company that was tasked with transporting me. I was told by a staff member at the first hospital that someone else on their staff told Mile High Ambulance staff to "make her ride rough - make her ride hell". I didn't know this until after I was transported and I called back to get more information on the company. For some reason I left my phone with my husband so I couldn't record how I was treated - in retrospect, if I did have my phone they likely wouldn't have mistreated me. The ambulance they transported me in was obviously out of service, it had no air, it had no supplies, it was practically empty. I was pushed into an oven with sickle cell anemia and on oxygen. They did not care. The employee that sat in the back with me completely ignored me, didn't offer to assist me at all, sat behind me the whole time so I couldn't see him and ignored my request for relief or pain meds. I felt forgotten and alone in one of the worse health crisis of my life. Towards the end of the ride, the driver of the ambulance drove the vehicle like a maniac - on purpose. He turned corners wildly til it felt like I was going to flip over. He did this intentionally and maliciously. When we finally arrived at the new hospital, he opened the back doors and smirked at me. I knew then something wasn't right. I immediately called the previous hospital and one of the nurses on the unit told me she knew they did it intentionally because she heard them say "make her ride hell" - because I had the nerve to advocate for myself while I was there. I contacted Mile High Ambulance service without sharing what I was told because I thought they would have the decency to do the right thing and apologize. They did not - they denied any wrongdoing and basically admitted that they often transport patience in those conditions. I am hurt, traumatized and seriously considering taking steps to to hold Mile High accountable for the harm they have done - especially because they had the audacity to send me a bill after treating me so poorly as a patient. Please reconsider using this company. They are not good people. Especially if you look like me. I don't care if other people have had a good experience - my experience was terrible I and hope no one ever has to go what I went through with this dollar tree version of a transportation company.

I drove my car forward to escape their pursuit, but I was unable to get away. After over 1/2 hour of being trapped in my car while they hit it with their vehicles and caused it to be totaled, I lost the battle to escape being carjacked. One of the men took a glass cutting tool and use it to cut & crack the driver side window. Then he reached in and unlocked the car and they dragged me out of the car. I thought I was going to die. They loaded me onto a stretcher, cranked me up a ramp into the back of the antiquated ambulance. The gurney was not affixed to the sides of the ambulance and there was no one in the back with me. So I was shifting and bumping around in the rear of the vehicle. I was driven to Parkview Care. I was in total shock. I found myself @ an unfamiliar place. I have no recollection of having my cell phone, my purse or anyone explaining to me what was happening. The gang passed me off to a pleasant young woman, who brought me inside. I was in shock and covered with glass. I can't remember if she was an RN, or a nurses' aide. I know no one undressed me or put me in a gown, but I was covered in shards of glass from the shattered window. There were sharp little pieces of glass sticking into my face, in my hair, in my clothing, in my underwear, in my shoes, pricking me everywhere. I was very cold, battered and bruised. The personnel were quiet, detached & uninformative. I have a vague recollection of being attached to the standard temperature and blood pressure devices which read out on the monitor. Hours passed, at some point a Physician Assistant came in and we spoke. I know I was cold, tired and very afraid. I prayed. I seemed to have no authority. No one asked me to sign any consent forms. Various random medical diagnostic test were ordered. No medical treatment was provided. After midnight my husband was contacted and he came and picked me up and took me to a local hotel. We eventually received an exorbitant ambulance, and hospital bill.
