I bought some prepackaged couscous from Italy from The Healthy Olive, how bad could that be? It was horrible. It tasted like prepackaged food, with the freeze-dried onions/peppers. I served it when I was having company, an no one liked it. I threw the whole thing in the trash. Bye bye $10. I went back to the store to get some oil and told the woman my experience with the couscous. She said she would tell the owner. She never offered a discount, or a refund. I'm a olive oil nut! And I'm also pretty experimental and picky with vinegars. i was spoiled in California and regularly shopped at the Olive press there. I once had a $500 order she said was the largest non corporate order she'd ever filled. Like I said...Love it! My favorite oils are the Garlic and Basil..use them in everythiing from salad dressings to pasta dishes and the add great depth and layers of flavor. I also love the lemon oil...fabulous in dressings and anywhere you want a lemon flavor without the tang of the acidic juice. On the Balsamic VInegars- they are FABULOUS! You Can literally make flavored lemonaids with them- Try adding the peach or raspberry flavors and you'll see. I also love the lime or peach over fresh tomatoes! And the peach vinegar with the lime oil! YUM! You can mix them with sparkling water for a replacement to all the sugary sodas and you won't miss them! Try the chocolate, fig or regular balsamic and you'll see what a great substitute they are for coke! Just make sure you don't make your drinks too strong ( 1 or 2 tbls at most per 8 oz) or the acid can damage your teeth! But the acid also helps you eat less and feel full longer so you lose weight! There are also a nice variety of mustards and jams..great for chacuterie boards. She also has some cute and unique gifts ranging from Clemson spoons etc to holiday and kitchen items. Had fun shopping here last week. The owner is very friendly and her two dogs are quite cute. Lots of great olive oils and other culinary treats. I especially enjoyed the 3 packages of imported pasta and rissotto that already had the ingredients to make a sauce with. Those were delicious! Can't wait to come back soon! read more

What a wonderful store! There is something for everyone here...delicious foods/relishes/oils/soup mixes/jams, etc.! Fun, practical, whimsical and unusual gifts for ALL ages. Best of all was the amazing customer service (including the two darling little dogs who warmly greeted me this morning). I decided late last night that I should have bought additional Christmas ornaments but the store was going to open AFTER we had planned to be on the road today. When I saw the name I hopefully thought it was a new restaurant on the Alley. I was mistaken and pleasantly surprised to learn It is a tasting room for Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars. The ambiance is superb and the staff are knowledgeable on the products sold here. They can also accommodate small to large parties. This is a must visit In my book. INCREDIBLE and OVER THE TOP CUSTOMER SERVICE: In addition to the wonderful assortment of vinegars, oils, and novel items, I just received the kind of customer service you can ONLY get from a local, caring store. I visited the Healthy Olive last Friday to refill my bottles with my favorite vinegar - Sicilian Lemon White Balsamic. It's the ONLY place I have seen this product and I love it. Since I hadn't been in the store since COVID, we chatted while I was checking out. Then, because it was raining and my husband was waiting, I ran quickly out of the store....NOT realizing I had left my credit card - YIKES! I didn't realize it until Monday, and I somewhat freaked out....I called the Healthy Olive business number (knowing that since she is closed on Mondays, I would only be able to leave a message) and that I would have to "sweat it out" for a couple of days. To my surprise, Angela answered the phone with a chipper "I have it!" It was her day off, but, she offered to bring it to me. I declined, but, a couple of days later, when I was planning to go pick it up from her store the first day it was open, she called me....and ended up actually bringing the credit card TO ME where I was having lunch! I visited this boutique for the first time today to buy a bottle of red wine. Very impressive. The owner, Angela, is knowledgeable and delightful--and doesn't stock a wine unless she's tasted it personally. There is no place in Seneca that can offer that kind of service. In addition to that, her collection of wine is impressively varied and very well priced. There's tons more to this store: specialty herbs and spices; vinegar and olive oil; breads; and small decorative items that would make for great hostess gifts. This place is a treasure. read more
