A good friend of mine recommended this place but sadly this place did not help at all…read more Gina tried some moxibustion, gua sha and acupuncture for my elbow pain. While the heat from the moxibustion was temporarily comforting it didn't provide much relief afterwards. I would have left my review at 3 stars if the therapist did a good job but the treatment wasn't effective, however, I seriously and honestly felt that she wasn't very competent. I told her that one of the needles really hurt, and she told me that it shouldn't. Well, it sure did, and even if she said it shouldn't, it doesn't help, physically or psychologically. Moreover, she focused exclusively on my elbow, even though I told her how it hurt at other points along the meridian. Other therapists I had been to had felt along my upper and forearm, even the shoulder, and had relieved my pain by massaging along those points, instead of directly on my elbows. TCM views the body holistically, rather than just zooming in on the area where the symptoms manifest. I am therefore very surprised and disappointed that she so narrowly focused on my elbow. When I didn't feel any better, she basically just put some ointment on, did more gua-sha. She was very vague about what the problem was ("Is it the tendon?" "Hmm, maybe." "Or could it be the muscle?" "That's possible too.") and just ended the session saying that she hoped the pain would go away in a few weeks. When I left my elbow hurt more than before, from all the rubbing ETA: Adding this in response to the owner's message: If you read my other reviews, I am not a Yelper who go about trying to hurt businesses. The simple fact is that I went and did not feel satisfied with the treatment and reported so. I had gone to other Chinese doctors with the same elbow issue, who diagnosed the problem and achieved better results, so I know what a good treatment is. The best was when a doctor stuck a needle in my right knee to relieve the pain in my left elbow. Immediate relief. That's what awes me about TCM. Moreover, a good doctor, whatever traditional she comes from, should care enough to listen to a patient's treatment history, especially when what she attempted does not help. To not listen, and then turn around and blame the patient for complicating the illness, is wholly irresponsible, and in my opinion, bad karma indeed.

I've been going to Julia for years now. I started using her service when she was at Body Sense…read morewhile I was pregnant in 2011. She provided the best prenatal massages. I also used her postnatal. I've been hooked ever since. Not only is she the sweetest and kindest person you will ever meet, but she has HANDS OF STEEL! I'm amazed at how such a petite and gentle person can have so much power in her hands and at the tips of her fingers. I went to Julia yesterday to get a deep tissue massage because I was long over due. With my graduate school schedule along with running a business and having a toddler, time is very limited. I couldn't even move my neck from the pain and discomfort I was in. She squeezed me in the same day. When I arrived, she laid me on the table and studied my neck and back. A 60 minute massage turned into 90 minutes. That's how bad I needed her service. She goes deep into the muscles to relieve tension and stress. I love how she walked on my back and with her toes, presses deep into the muscles. I felt my vertebrae go back in place. The only reason she stopped was because I had to go pick up my daughter at school. If not, she would have kept on going. She is amazing! She is all about personal attention. Today, I feel alive and amazing--not at all how I felt yesterday before the massage. I felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders. After her massage, I felt immediate relieve. Her price is very reasonable. You can't beat that!

I'm used to going to hotel spas for pricey "treat yourself" experiences, but Rooted in Reflexology changed that for me! Mary really knows what she's doing and you can get an amazing and relaxing experience at a good price. So far I've only taken advantage of the 90 minute full body massages ($90), but she also specializes in reflexology, which I plan on trying soon. Prior to the appointment, she learns about you and your preferences. From there, you can pick your scents, type of lotion, and really relax. The office is located in Coral Gables within an office building off of Giralda, the part that is closed off to pedestrian traffic. You walk up to the second floor and her room is within Gables Optimal Health. I usually take advantage of metered street parking nearby. I cannot wait to get back here once it's safe to do so!
