I made an appointment a week ahead of time and had no problem getting a spot at 5pm. Upon arrival, I waited a few minutes for Claudia to prep the room in what she uses as a yoga studio on Thursday evenings, she explained. Then, I walked into a very small and shabby room. Claudia told me the different stages of the deep-tissue massage she performs which included contrast therapy. Claudia seemed to be very knowledgeable in mythology and she would describe my personal traits so that "I would be distracted from the pain." On that note, it was the most intense deep-tissue massage I've ever gotten. Unfortunately, I was not able to fully harmonize body, mind, and spirit on-site mainly because the bed was not comfortable for my height (6'4"). So, definitely keep that in mind if you are tall as you will not be able to relax completely. Finally, I think the following is essential and well-established places pay attention to small details that Hands of Gaia missed: my body was covered in oil when I had to get dressed -- this should have been addressed prior to my departure. I was also not offered anything to drink prior my departure -- I've been to places where they force you to hydrate before leaving.
