When I called for help, administration flat out lied about the treatment and type if care I would receive. There isn't one single Psychiatrist on staff. The only medical personnel are nurse practitioners. They worried more about the meds which weren't for my mental health that I've been on for years, than trying to adjust my psychiatric medication. It was a fight 3x a day to get my regular meds which in turn made my 5 days there a living hell, along without the proper treatment. My belief is that they are sucking insurance companies dry, and pay NP's to do a job which they don't have the qualifications for. One gentleman's insurance company flew him all the way from California only to find out what a racket this place is. He left AMA, and so did I. Luckily I didn't have a10hr trip to get back home. My so called therapist only talked about herself. The only positive things about the place was that it was clean, and the techs were wonderful! I'd rather had been at CHL if that tells you guys in MA anything. At least you see a psychiatrist who tries to help instead of hinder. read more

I arrived at the unit for mental health but they first moved me to the detox unit, which I do not need. They finally moved me to their next door mental health unit only to arrive and have 3 different roommates, one of which arrived around 2am and proceeded to snore and talk in their sleep, LOUDLY. Upon contacting The Haven, my husband called and was told they WERE in-network with our insurance and when I asked to leave early, I was told insurance would pay nothing due to my leaving AMA(Against Medical Advice) so I stayed. Then, received a bill totally over $100k, with over $6k/night!! I highly DO NOT recommend this racket of a facility. Trust me, save yourself the time, money, and GRIEF that'll end up exacerbating your already acquired mental health struggles. DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF! read more

Deceptive in so many ways. Let's start with "you have 15 minutes with your phone a day" to when you check in, you have all calls supervised by your therapist on speakerphone, and if the person you calls doesn't pick up, then you don't get to call them again. Then let's move towards the therapy itself - which is group therapy all day and no psychiatrist or psychologist on staff. If you want an Aleve for your period, they won't give you that at all. If they push genetic testing on you, advertise it heavily as one of their main aspects of the center, say it will be $330, and then charge you afterwards for $5,500 - then you have done deceptive billing practices! Let's move onto "vegan" friendly diet. No offerings here. Avoid. Lastly, they put you under the assumption that they have novelty offerings like EDMR and reiki. Nope. Not at all. None of that is available. It's 6 hours of group therapy a day - that's it. Once a week you meet with your therapist and it's not even an hour - it's for 15 minutes. If you express dissatisfaction of their center and want to leave their VOLUNTARY resident, they threaten you with AMA (against medical advice), give no reasons as to why or how, and then refuse to help with aftercare planning. Actually, they tell you your aftercare is covered by insurance only for it not to be. This place is running a sophisticated scam on people. read more

This was the worst experience if my life by far. Absolutely stay away: especially from the mental health unit. They kept me much longer than they said; they didn't give me a case manager (or a case in the system) until the 7th day, so I was sort of a caseless invisible patient, just raking in money (~$5k per day). Staff lied constantly, I requested my records and found that the medications listed I was not given, and the medication I did come in with was not listed. The medication they started me on in there they said would go to my pharmacy (gave address), but it never did, and I had to stop cold turkey which did not feel great. They give me sedative medication without checking my current meds and interactions (I am on a medication that happens to lower my blood pressure, and I don't have HBP to begin with), so I felt very lightheaded that day and couldn't get out of bed or walk around. I didn't even know when my discharge would be until the day before (9th day) the end of my 10 day stay, so I never was sure how long I would be there. I'm a 20 year old college student and I was going through summer classes at the time at a private college, so missing 10 days of classes when I expected to only miss 3-5 was serious. It somewhat ruined my trust in mental healthcare professionals. There was no psychiatrist or any actual doctor there except a few hours of one of the days I was there. Negligence was rampant. One night, a tattooed, muscular, older man came into my room who was psychotic coming off of hard drugs. No one watches at night, and the doors don't have locks. He went into another girl's room while she was showering. The group therapy sessions were awful, consisting of usually a worksheet (word search, crossword) or a youtube video. I only had a single, 30 min individual therapy session over the 10 day stay, and I had to fight for that; they never did therapy when they said they would. I am a trans girl and multiple male patients got up in my face, and screamed and scared me. It was so unsafe for me, and none of my symptoms improved; most got worse. read more

pretty awful experience with 50% of the staff. there is no psychiatrist, no visitors allowed and no one on one therapy unless you repeatedly beg for it. If it wasn't for the others patient, I would've walked out after a day. But I stuck with it and have been repeatedly let down by the team of clinicians. So much falls through the cracks that it is absolutely astonishing. Do not go here unless you're ok with fighting for everything you are told you'll get in the contract. They won't change your meds, so don't think that you'll be under care when adding any meds for anxiety or depression. The techs are 70% AWESOME and 30% AWFUL.. the food is good. My experience with haven was 100 percent unexpected , everything was super comfortable , and the staff is amazing . If I ever had to recomend a place to go detox and get your mind right it would be Haven in worcster MA. They dont just throw you there to rot , They are on there toes making sure everything goes as smooth as it can go , Housekeeping stays on the move and the place is emaculantly cleaned on the regular , request's and help do not go unanswered they do not ignore you nor any symptoms you may have , They are very polite proffesional and capable , I would not suggest anyplace else but Haven in Worcster MA. read more
