Hotel room with skeletons!!!!

I loved this hotel so so much. The courtyard is so lovely to have a coffee or a cocktail in. I am not someone who can "hang" and our flight wasn't until 6PM. They let me sleep in instead of checking out!!! I'm obsessed with them. The two woman I spoke with during my stay were absolutely amazing. I'm for sure coming back!!! Thanks so much for the amazing time!

Awesome small boutique hotel. We stayed in 4b. It is a couple blocks away from the quiet part of bourbon street, close to lafitte's bar(our favorite to stop and get a drink). The room was a good size, mattress firm, bathroom to die for and a small walk-in closet. The couple that works there are so nice This is a pet friendly hotel and we did bring two littles. The courtyard is relaxing and nice break from the craziness of bourbon. Overall I'd recommend the Haunted hotel. We are already looking to come back next year. Thanks for a great stay

We've stayed at the Haunted Hotel three times in the last year. We wouldn't stay anywhere else! The staff are really accommodating and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The location is perfect two blocks from Bourbon Street, two blocks from Decatur and the market, a few blocks to Jackson Square, and please don't forget about Frenchman Street. The hotel was very cutely decorated each and every time we came down. It was very clean. It has a awesome courtyard! The courtyard is private to the hotel and locked to the public. We loved the courtyard so much so we decided to get married there last September. Ginger and Bobby (managers of the property) made it an awesome experience!

This was piece de resistance of this year's trip to NOLA. (Yelp doesn't do accent marks, but you know what I mean). I was so glad to have spent extra to book a hotel room in the Quarter. No issues waiting to recycle refreshments after the parade, just a quick trip back to the room. Feet hurt? Room just down the street from just about everywhere. It was super convenient. Where to begin? Great concept: Murder hotel haunted by the Edwardian era serial killer Axe Man, complete with a curio box containing a small hatchet found in the attic (not the murder weapon, obv). The staff claim Axeman was a maintenance man at the property way back when. The courtyard had a tent area and small fire, the main house was very lovely, and there were additional rooms in the back (servants' quarters?) The room: blood red and black decor, with haint blue (Southerners' tradition to keep the spirits in check). Blood splatter patterned sheets and amusing little murder themed cards everywhere. The area: between Chartres and Royal, and around the corner from Lalaurie mansion (evil slave owner ghost) and the Ursuline convent (nun ghosts). Several museums are down the street, but check the times, lots of these places close pretty early. The best part: Many beautiful and heavenly Sweet Olive trees were right next door in a walled garden and every time you leave, you can smell them! The blossoms are so fragrant! (Both Hove and Bourbon Street Perfumes have fragrance in this scent, btw). The Axeman: He made quite a few appearances, not visually, but he made his presence felt. His crimes ranged from turning off the hot water only in my room (requiring the staff to adjust the tank) to a ghostly chill that had to be mitigated by space heaters, to random thumping noises, to panty snatching. After several incidents where I walked into the other room and came back to find lingerie missing and then suddenly appearing draped across the television, Axeman and I had a conversation. I opined on his character, his boorishness and quite shocking lack of manners, and the fact that he was most likely a Yankee and no Southern gentleman at all. After that, he resigned himself to unexpectedly knocking small items off the nightstand, which was of course a slight inconvenience, but not overly offensive.

This hotel is so well located! You're in the heart of the French Quarter, steps away from the revelry on Bourbon St, the shopping on Royal St, and the dining on Decatur. The building has been around 300 years, so there's some great history that the staff is only too glad to tell you about. The rooms are charming, and the beds are firm. You're not coming here for frills: if it's continental breakfast, a hotel bar, a pool you're after, keep looking. Personally, I don't need that from a hotel in the quarter. I prefer the charm and history of this hotel to assume generic chain any day, hands down. They are very friendly!

Our stay here was as wonderful as it was memorable. If you are sick to death (ha) of the same ol same ol carbon copy hotel rooms, this is the place for you. Each room has its own charm as well as a mini fridge, microwave, closet, and private bathroom. I know this because Ginger allowed us access to two rooms as ours was originally a smaller room, BUT she had a king open for all but one night of our stay! It was awesome! Herb and the rest of the staff were so kind and amazing (make sure to ask him to snap your photo in front of the fountain!). They also offer a kitchen area AND laundry area so you don't have to over pack or worry about finding a mat to use. They don't offer breakfast BUT next door is a wonderful historical cafe and that's honestly much better. I guess my only con is the beds are a bit hard but honestly when you're so tired at the end of your day it's no real issue. Ask for an extra comforter to lay on and your set. My husband and I will be back!

I have never had such an intimate experience at a hotel. Ginger really makes you feel at home. This hotel is cute, cozy, and clean. Don't forget about spooky! We had definitely had our own ghost experience and talked with many other guest who also experienced weird and spooky things going on. Their decorations for Halloween really set a great ambience. We had the best time! Also a shout out for Herb that was there for us when we needed him. Will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I spent 3 nights. We highly recommend staying here... Ginger, Bobby and Herb were awesome from the stories about the history of the hotel to the spooky happenings they have experienced. Even experienced a few odd things myself. They treated us like family. We will be booking here again. Thanks for the great hospitality and the super awesome Gumbo.

This place is the most amazing hotel in NOLA. You will not get the same kind of customer service anywhere else! My S.O. and I stayed here from Dec 26-30. Not only is this hotel insanely close to anything you'd want to see in the French Quarter, but the owners are super friendly and attentive. We had two amazing homemade meals made by the owners and a regularly returning guest. The first night was a shrimp boil with all the fix'ns and the next night was grilled shrimp and jambalaya. They create an effortless sense of community among their guests that I've never seen in a hotel. They make staying in a hotel genuinely fun. Without a doubt, if we ever come back to New Orleans, we will definitely be staying here!

When you arrive locating the entrance is interesting. It is through a metal gate with a small hallway / alley between the building and the building next door. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I stayed in B3 which is at the back in the slave quarters under the room where the Axeman committed his murderous spree. This is where much of the haunting in the hotel takes place. I wouldn't say I was Haunted per se but there was a lot of either coincidences and oddities or it was paranormal activity. For one thing, my door stuck. Oh I could get in. That was absolutely no problem. But getting out, I'd pull and twist and pull. Nada. One time I put all my weight into it and voila! It opened easily. Another thing: the towel that was hung on the towel rack, never having been used was going to the floor and the washcloth on it, like someone had been using it. I had last seen both hanging up, untouched. Hmm. Another questionable thing was that a whole day of pills EXCEPT FOR ONE disappeared. That one pill appeared in my purse. I put my pills in a pill box with the days on it and a whole days worth except for one disappeared. They weren't dumped in my purse, because I would have found them in my purse. Another weirdness is that as I'm trying this review I'd put in 5 stars and it would change to 4 stars all by itself. This hotel has been completely remodeled. My room had a door that was a piece of heavy wood with nails in it and they removed the nails and turned them into a rolling door. It was found in the attic when it was remodeled and this was hung as a rolling door to the bathroom. My bed was comfortable. I slept like a baby. The courtyard outside is beautiful, with the original brickwork on the ground. There is also a canopy, so that if it's raining a guest could still sit outside. The on-site manager Widner is awesome. He is friendly and nice and helpful. His assistant, Bobby is so nice. He is actually a truly good person, with a heart as big as gold, in a city that looks to take advantages. God bless Bobby. The area manager Bobby is also nice (yes there are two Bobby's.) I never met Ginger, but I heard a lot about her (all good).

We had a fantastic stay at the Haunted Hotel. The owners and staff are wonderful and make sure that all your needs are taken care of. We woke up to breakfast in the courtyard of homemade gumbo and jambalaya. When we checked out we were walked out to the street and given farewell hugs and a final ghost story. The room was beautiful and comfortable. Will definitely stay there again. We did experience some weird, cold be blamed on ghost activity, in that in all of our electronics including cellphones, the tv, and the AC control suddenly quit working late at night. We also heard some strange noises in the middle of the night. We definitely did not get murdered by a ghost though. :)

Interior rooms on the courtyard.

True hospitality! Clean, comfy, quiet, and convenient. The courtyard alone is worth the stay. We are looking forward to our next visit and will definitely stay here again.

Giving our guests a real taste of New Orleans was incredibly important. If our guests did nothing else during their trip, we wanted them to feel like they had an experience unique to the city. Latrobe's definitely helped us achieve that. From the beautiful courtyard complete with burning gas lamps, to the grand banking room, to the wonderful food selection of delicious regional delicacies. Many of our guests told us that they felt they had been transported back in time. That it was the best, most unique wedding they had ever attended - and with the best food! Lastly, the team at Latrobe's is incredible - I actually miss talking to them every week! (LOL) Rylan, Hana, and Millie are the best. Wedding at Marché - Outstanding Experience As the mother of…read morethe bride and overall wedding planner, I highly recommend this venue. My daughter and her fiancé did a detailed search for just the right wedding venue to meet their needs. We booked Marché about six months in advance after visiting multiple venues, and it quickly stood out. The planning process can be tedious and tricky, but their Special Events Operations Manager, Wallace, was truly exceptional. He is the primary reason we chose Marché and, ultimately, the reason our wedding day was such a success. Why we chose Marché: * Excellent French Quarter location * Beautiful views from multiple balconies * Great layout for ceremony, dining, and dancing * Incredible, authentic New Orleans food * Excellent value for the price * Wallace's professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond What impressed us most after the wedding: * The tasting was extremely helpful in finalizing food and drink selections * We were able to customize ceremony and dining layouts to fit our vision * Time allotted for both ceremony and reception was more than adequate * Food was outstanding and widely praised by guests * Bartenders made great drinks and happily accommodated requests * Wine, liquor, and beer selections were very good * The "flip" from ceremony to dance space was executed flawlessly--fast, organized, and exactly as planned Guest feedback: * The staff welcomed our guests with enthusiasm and excitement. They made everyone feel welcome. * We received countless compliments, with many saying it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended * Guests loved the food, drinks, and smooth flow from dining to dancing Helpful recommendations: * Take full advantage of the balconies--we threw beads to guests waiting in Dutch Alley before the second line, which was a highlight * Have champagne passed as guests arrive to set a celebratory tone * Do not overdecorate the ceremony room--the chandeliers, floors, windows, and lighting are already stunning * Encourage guests to use the balconies at night; the views are amazing (our cigar bar was a big hit) * Highly recommend a second line--it creates a fantastic guest experience and allows time for reception setup * A separate "day-of" coordinator is unnecessary if you are organized--Wallace and his team handle everything seamlessly One small negative (for transparency): Our assigned salesperson was slow to respond to emails, and her in-person communication style was abrupt. However, this did not impact the success of our wedding and should not discourage anyone from choosing Marché. Overall, Creole Cuisine Company and its employees are consistently professional and hospitable at all levels of leadership and staff. Planning tip: Carefully review the food and beverage brochure and ask detailed pricing questions. We created a spreadsheet to track costs and maximize value. Be sure to ask about reduced pricing for minors and vendors. Final note: Wallace is a true gem--kind, positive, respectful, and incredibly attentive. Because of his leadership, the entire team operates at the highest level. Not a single guest needed anything all night, and the bride and groom were truly taken care of. Marché delivered an unforgettable wedding experience, and we recommend it without hesitation.

It took me a few minutes to actually find this place at first. My good ol' GPS just led me to the 1400 block of OCH and left me to find the actual building on my own. Just a note: it's on a corner and I took a picture of the door, so that you can be on the lookout. The venue itself is lovely. It's a wide open space with a nice bar and plenty of seating. There is gorgeous art on the wall and I like that there is a lot of space to move around. Big selling point: the air conditioning here works like a champ. A lot of times you get into these old buildings, and the ac can't keep up with the space, but that was not the case here. Plenty of windows let in the light during the day, which I am always a fan of; I hate going to dark event spaces during the day and feeling like I'm in a dungeon. There is a stage area where students for Big Class read poems. I presume that other performances take place on the stage as well. There are even some sofas for comfy seating as you enjoy whatever is happening on stage or just mingling with friends. I didn't get to explore it, but there's an upstairs area as well. It should be noted that the building is located on an extremely well lit block, so if you attend an event here at night you should feel pretty safe. I look forward to attending more events here and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more fundraisers that may be held here.
