I was on my way home from brunch in North Scituate and needed a couple items for a recipe I was…read morehoping to make that weekend. I found myself passing Brigido's. Having never been, I decided to take a chance, pulled a loop de loop, and found a parking space in their decently sized lot that is shared with several other businesses in hopes I could find everything I'd need. Verdict: I almost did! Good news is that I was able to find adequate substitutes to meet my needs. I was mostly in the market for fresh produce and meats and everything was looking mighty fresh. Employees were actively restocking the produce so everything was plentiful in this section. I was hoping to find some ground veal but went home with ground beef instead. Being new to this location, it took me longer than usual to find everything I needed but everyone was very helpful and super nice while I was checking out. I was excited to find some very large pumpkins out front as well so that I didn't need to stop anywhere else for some pumpkin carving that was on the docket for that weekend as well. Small but packed to the gills with product. Family-owned with a hometown feel. Someone was grilling up food just outside the exit which would have been tempting had I not just eaten a very large brunch.

New owners almost doubled prices, cut the selection. Many empty shelves. Charged me for a bag that…read morethe bottom literally split in half in the parking lot. The help there is less than helpful.

This review is specifically for the florist at Dave's Marketplace in Smithfield Crossings. I…read morestopped in to order a boutonniere for my daughter's prom date and Sharon was so incredibly helpful. She listened to what I wanted, and when I showed her a photo of my daughter's dress, she made great suggestions. The next day, I was surprised to receive a phone call from Sharon. It turned out that my daughter's date had also ordered a prom flowers at Dave's and Sharon was calling to ask if it would be ok if she deviated a little from what we had discussed so that their boutonniere and bouquet could match. I oof course said yes, and I was so impressed that Sharon had taken time to call me and I was equally impressed with how much thought she was putting into the flowers. Both the bouquet and the boutonniere were absolutely beautiful with dainty lavender roses, white hydrangeas, lovely accent greens, and a beautiful bow. The service I received here and the quality of the flowers was outstanding - far better than some full service florists. I'll definitely be going back here for future dance flowers, and I'd like to give a huge shoutout to Sharon for her thoughtfulness and the beautiful flowers she provided for prom.

The fresh seafood selection as well as butcher section are fantastic! I enjoy their meats like steaks and pre-made burger patties. This particular location is always clean and well stocked and I like that they have free fresh coffee while you shop. With brand names as well as local products, Dave's is what I look for in a local grocery market.

The atmosphere is very relaxing, with a comfortable yet slightly upscale atmosphere. The food and drinks are both amazing. Drinks are well prepared and the menu rotates with the seasons. The sangrias and specialty martinis are all so delicious and are expertly crafted. The pizzas are outstanding - toppings are all high quality and their weekly pizza specials are always unique and delicious. The salads, chicken entrees, and pasta are all excellent as well. I've never had a bad meal here.

Giuseppe's Pizzeria and Bistro is upscale in the best way. Dark wood, brick floors, pendant lights over a small bar. The lights are dim but the room is inviting and intimate. When we arrived, it wasn't empty, wasn't slammed. Nothing felt rushed. Everything moved at the right pace, giving us time to talk, time to savor, time to just enjoy being there. Even after we paid, no one hurried us out. The room was filling up around us, but we never felt it. Fresh plates for every course. Water refilled when it emptied (not before we noticed, exactly when). Every time we said thank you, our server said "of course" like she truly meant it. The focaccia came out warm. Tear it open and you see irregular holes. That takes hours, not shortcuts. They bring whipped garlic butter because it spreads easier, but the bread's good enough alone. Four meatballs arrived, tender enough they fell apart as I tried to work them through the sauce. Took surgeon hands. Pool the red sauce on your plate or spoon some over the top of each bite. Without it, they're bland. With it, they're quite good. The pepperoni pizza came out right. Char on the crust, pepperoni curling into little grease cups, cheese stretching six inches on those first bites. The sauce is light. The crust ends taste a little like char and semolina. I'm a sauce guy. Always have been. This pizza wasn't what I look for, but the people around us all looked happy to be there and with their food. Giuseppe's making the pizza his customers want. Fruit crumble for dessert. Fresh blueberries and peaches, vanilla ice cream. I enjoyed the peach side more than the blueberries, which was unexpected. The peaches were a little less sweet. The blueberries? Really sweet. Fresh and enjoyable. Giuseppe's fills up for a reason. The service is the best I've experienced in months. People were taking their time, talking, enjoying everything that was in front of them. They seemed like they knew they were somewhere special. They got it right.
