We felt welcome as soon as we walked up to the house and met Dave. He gave us a tour and showed us to our lovely (and large) room with a view of the vineyard. Dave and Donna have thought of anything you may need. There's a bar, 24-hr access to coffee, tea and water, board games, pool table, a mini indoor golf set, spacious outdoor seating to take in the beauty of the property or have a drink by one of the fire pits, even microwave popcorn! Dave made us a fabulous breakfast each morning and was super friendly as he presented each dish and chatted with us. If you're considering checking this place out, DO IT!!! We enjoyed the rehearsal dinner on the porch of the building next to the large silo. It was right before sunset, so we got to enjoy the gorgeous view of the land, trees, and lake while the August sun went down. There was a lovely breeze and we enjoyed our meal under twinkling string lights. There were tons of beautiful flowers blooming around the grounds, and we enjoyed lawn games on the rolling green grass. The next day, for the ceremony, we were located down by the lake. The ceremony took place on a lawn in front of a beautiful old tree, facing the water. Afterwards, we made our way into the old barn and enjoyed cocktail hour and the reception. The space was well designed and the whole experience was magical; candles and simple draperies. A beautiful breeze flowed through the venue as the rumble of thunder echoed in the distance. Despite the thunderstorm that passed through, we were safe and dry inside the barn. All in all, one of the most beautiful and magical wedding venues I've seen.

Honestly the rooms are old and I would not call them clean as of the reviews I've read indicate. I…read moremean the minute I walked in there was bit of wadded up toilet paper on the floor. The front desk person had show me the room so I inquired of they sweep vacuum? Also, I arrived and I looked at the bed thinking they probably washed the blankets maybe 3 to 5 days ago? So I requested a top sheet from the front desk. That was about 5:00. Took about an hour. The front desk person brought the sheet. And went back to the office. Unfortunately, it was a bottom sheet which is of no use to cover the blanket. I brought the bottom sheet back to the office myself to make it easier for the front desk. He told me he was very busy although I did not see anyone. I offered to wait and he said he had to go to the basement. He said it would bring it and to go back to my room. That was about 6:00. 8:00 still waiting. Called him and he had forgotten. He brought me the sheet a little while later. Unfortunately there were stains on it but it looked like it had been washed. The bathroom in my opinion was not really clean. There was a little dirt or mold on the inside corner of the shower. The door to the bathroom was whitish paint peeling off to display the original wood color. The moldings around the door we're also peeling. The room could use fresh paint. Would go a long way. The curtains. One looked as if it had been ironed before it was put up. The other curtain on the same window looked as if it had been crushed up in a ball out of the dryer after being washed and then hung without being ironed. It was all wrinkled. So housekeeping does need a bit of help or education. This is where the hotel will know who wrote this review. Oh yes the floors are now vinyl plank flooring. No long carpet. A couple years old no doubt. It seemed okay until I went and I put the luggage rack in the open door closet and slipped. The floor has a deep sag in it by the opening of closet. I am post op 4 months for spinal fusion from which I am recovering from prior mobility issues from falling on tile which are improving. I'm lucky I grabbed onto the the wall of the closet and put my hand on the sink. So, I did not fall thank goodness. The rooms need a little attention. I admit they are charging a lower rate for the rooms, but basic cosmetic updating for goodness sake a little paint and a little better cleaning would go a long way. Oh yes, the people upstairs sound like a herd of elephants. I guess they came home from dinner, that's my guess, and they were stomping and talking loudly until 10:00 and thankfully they stopped. I do not know if it was just those people that were in there or just the way the hotel is built. They did wake up and make noise during the night, but I was exhausted being in town for a funeral so I fell back to sleep. Please note. If you have mobility issues, they admit they do not have handicap accomodations, but I would recommend a hotel that does or maintains the rooms more. So I would say not bad. Not good either.
