So I go on Google to leave my review for the Hollywood Motel in Farmingdale, and the FIRST thing that pops up is this news article saying TWO MEN WERE FOUND UNALIVE IN THE JACUZZI. HUH?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! That's the SAME room we stayed in! We were literally sitting in that nasty old crusty jacuzzi like it was nothing. It wasn't even remodeled or replaced. So you're telling me two people died in that tub, they bodies were found soaking in there, and y'all just cleaned it up and rented the room back out like nothing ever happened? Ain't no way. I don't even care if they bleached that thing a thousand times. The thought alone got me sick to my stomach. I'm sitting here replaying it in my head and getting goosebumps. I would've NEVER gotten in that jacuzzi if I knew what happened in that room. Isn't there some kind of law where you gotta tell people somebody died in the room? Or at least remodel the place or rip that old jacuzzi out! Instead it's the same busted, ancient tub looking like it's been there since the '80s. I'm dead serious... I don't think I'm sleeping for a month after finding this out. This whole place creeped me out before I knew the story, and now it all makes sense. Never again. For a price range of $90 - $99 I was expecting it to feel a lot cheaper than it is. The beds are pretty comfortable, the air conditioners really work, and the internet is reliable for the most part (though it will sometimes stutter). And the maids really make sure every bedroom / bathroom is clean, tidy, and bug-free. The hotel I stayed at before this one had a stained rug, the smell of cigarette smoke (in a non-smoking room), a very cramped bathroom space, and the occasional spider hanging above the bed. Unfortunately this isn't uncommon for a lot of cheaper hotels these days. And it cost me $20 MORE per night! So you can imagine how relieving it was to discover the Bay Shore Inn for the first time. My only complaints are that the view from the windows aren't so good, the electrical outlets per room are very limited, and (as stated above) the internet might turn off and on every so often. Also, not every room is equal, as some have larger bathrooms, some have a nicer table setup, and the first floor rooms have a slightly lower ceiling than the second floor. However these are all minor issues. The Verdict? If you're looking for a place to stay in the area with a tight budget, the Bay Shore Inn is your best bet. The rooms aren't the fanciest around, but you can't expect luxury at less than $100. I don't need luxury, nor was I looking for it; I simply wanted a room that was comfortable, clean, and quiet, and as a small spender with low expectations, this one really surprised me.

That people go there for prostitution and that we basically stayed over night in a meth lab. I was trying to be positive when we walked in after we got off the ferry and my boyfriend and the band he was subbing with was finished with their show on Fire Island. I was telling my boyfriend it's okay, it's kitcshy. Good news, we weren't robbed, my car survived the night without getting damaged by anyone. Bad news, 5:30 AM we heard a woman screaming from the parking lot hysterically "Give me my money bro" She went on screaming for a good half hour maybe. I heard her and knocked back out because I can mostly sleep through anything. My boyfriend got up and told me he actually went to the hotel lobby to find someone to do something and no one was around. My take avoid staying here unless you have no choice, and you're in a serious jam.

Checking in was easy, finding our room, not so much. Hotel has ample signage and plenty of parking. Elevator is located at the far side of the building closest to the restaurant and some banquet rooms. We got out on our floor and had four hallways to chose from. Confusing. The two hallways on the far side of either direction takes you to the atrium walk ways that are located outside of rooms with sliding glass doors out to the atrium. Seemed a little invasive to walk by those rooms so late so opted for the inside corridor. Which was longer then making use of the atrium walk way. Having just has a hip replacement, this walls was not welcome. THANK GOD our room wasn't at the opposite end of the hotel, that wall would have taken me forever! Room was cleans s nicely appointed. For two tired people, it took us a few minutes to find the switches for the over bed wall light and the one above the entertainment center. Had a half decent sleep, do not think they had the foam pillows I usually get when I make use of the Marriott app which has all my preferences including foam pillows request. I did so the gentleman who checked us in to make sure they were foam. One does not get poked nor does a foam pillow deflat to a pancake width. Second night I had to make use of one of the couch pillows for support. Now I like to sleep in a little and my man is respectful for this and exited our room at 6:30a. Went to the lobby and started to look for the Marriott signature 24/7 coffee and hot water offering. Um, where is it?!? Husband told he had to wait for the restaurant to open and they will sell him a cup of coffee!?! Not Marriott staple service AT ALL! K I have to say, I am a previous Marriott employee and KNOW their standards and this did not meet. A man ended up stopping my man to ask him where he got the coffee from Dunkin doughnuts a few black cake away! He was told the same thing. Why would you send your guests out into territory that is unknown to them? We returned early evening and walked past the rooms with the sliding glass doors not caring now if we see something we shouldn't. No housekeeping as per our request since we were there for two nights only. Post stay: I wrote a review for the property and got a lovely, apologetic email. There is nothing they can do about the elevator being so far from a majority of their rooms. Major renovations would have to happen. He will speak with the restaurant for further understanding as to why a Marriott staple that travelers depend on is not present in their property. Most likely will not be back.

When I showed her a photo of the conditions in our room, she simply asked to take a picture of it and then completely ignored me. ​On top of that service experience, we had to be reassigned to three different rooms before getting a decent one: * ​Room 1: Was not properly cleaned; there were hairs all over the bed and a filthy bathroom. * ​Room 2: Had what appeared to be blood stains on the bedding. * ​Room 3: Was acceptable by default, though the AC was weak and a fixture came off in the shower which were issues that only seemed minor compared to what we had just dealt with. ​To be fair, credit should be given to the representative who assisted with the room changes bevause she was helpful and apologetic. I also spoke with a manager at checkout to provide a brief rundown of this experience. While she apologized and offered to add some points to my account, the gesture felt minimal given the inconvenience of the situation. ​We were extremely disappointed with this stay. Had we been able to switch hotels last minute, we absolutely would have. This is simply not the level of hospitality or standards I have come to expect from the Marriott brand.

I was somewhat nervous about booking based on some of the reviews but thankfully, I did not see any of the issues such as outdated rooms, that others have complained of. Check-in was a breeze and I was in my room in short order. Room was clean and well lit. Heat was working and elevators were quick. Hot water was hot and I really cannot complain. Came here for 2 nights while visiting while visiting family. Arrived about 9 pm and got into our…read moreaccessible room. But to our surprise the room had a mold issue and it smelled terrible. The desk did not have another room like this so we accepted one but with a bathtub. It was dangerous for us but we had no choice. The room was large and had a kitchen with stove, dishwasher, plates, glasses and utensils. But the TV did not have cable. Disappointed! This was very expensive. $450/night it included a continental breakfast with eggs, bacon, cereals, waffles, toast, etc. It was extremely busy and the staff could not make the food fast enough. They worked very hard to accommodate everyone. There was an indoor pool and gym, but we did not use. Also a corporate business room for meetings. The manager was not an available until Monday morning. This is Friday night. I called her on Monday and she found out that the original room had a leak. I was grateful that she credited my account by half. My main gripe is that the room should have been checked prior to our arrival. Oh the other major disappointment was that the room was not cleaned for the 2nd day - we were not told ahead. No towels, water, etc. For the price they charge, in my opinion, it is not acceptable!!!
