They only have a new face out front. The non-smoking rooms and the smoking room is all smell the same. So if you're just a one night, stay to get to another destination, you can use this for you plan to stay in Bayshore for a while. I would pick another destination.

While we were on Fire Island some of the workers laughed at us when we said we were staying here. I heard mixed things about the inn after the fact. That people go there for prostitution and that we basically stayed over night in a meth lab. I was trying to be positive when we walked in after we got off the ferry and my boyfriend and the band he was subbing with was finished with their show on Fire Island. I was telling my boyfriend it's okay, it's kitcshy. Good news, we weren't robbed, my car survived the night without getting damaged by anyone. Bad news, 5:30 AM we heard a woman screaming from the parking lot hysterically "Give me my money bro" She went on screaming for a good half hour maybe. I heard her and knocked back out because I can mostly sleep through anything. My boyfriend got up and told me he actually went to the hotel lobby to find someone to do something and no one was around. My take avoid staying here unless you have no choice, and you're in a serious jam.

We had a really nice time at the Marriott Melville. As an ex Marriott Titanium and now current…read moreBonvoy Platinum member, this Marriott was a pleasure. Our check in went smooth and the front desk staff was very nice. Sad that it was on a Saturday and no M Lounge, but we enjoyed the restaurant for an evening bite and breakfast the next morning. Parking was free which was great. There is valet service available for overnite if you need it. The breakfast buffet was very nice and you can tell they make sure everything looks nicely put together and neat and clean. That's impt to me, especially with breakfast buffets. The food was good and plentiful. The room was a very nice size, comfortable and we had plenty of room. The chargers worked on both sides of the bed, which was nice to see. We used points for this trip, and prices weren't too bad without the points. We will definitely be back when we need a place to stay in the Melville area.

Bathroom toilet was an issue though, not sure if it was the water pressure but it started to stop up. Otherwise we didn't have any issues with the room and stay. The only issue I had was when we went to the restaurant within the hotel. The food was good but the waitress and staff were subpar. The waitress kept getting lost and one of my friend ordered shrimp to be added to her Cobb salad and it took 2 other staff members and then the manager before we finally got the shrimp. My friend's salad was already half way gone. It shouldn't have taken 45 minutes to an hour to get shrimp. The manager did finally come over and stated they would take the shrimp off the bill and offered us complementary dessert for the issue. How about the terrible waitress we had come's over with the bill with the shrimp still on the bill and then says "well we gave you dessert". I believe fire came out my head, was she serious, we did not ask for dessert, we asked for the shrimp that took almost an hour to come to be removed. We then asked to speak with the manager again and she pushing us to pay the bill first (without removing the shrimp). I thought I was on an episode of Punk'd. She must have saw our face, because we were absolutely speechless after that, and goes to get the manager. The manager does not come back but the bill has now been fixed, with the shrimp removed. Waitress walks away, we have payment and it took me standing up and looking at her just standing there chatting to finally come and get our payment. I would recommend the food because it was good, I got the turkey burger, my friends got the Cobb salad and grilled chicken burger. For appetizers we got the chicken quesadillas and the a cauliflower. Just the staff needs more training and customer service skills.

We came in for a wedding and stayed for 5 nights. Our stay was overall comfortable, but there are…read moresome things that could be improved. We had taken a red eye and called to see if early check in was available. It was over a holiday weekend so the area was busy to begin with. The front desk person we spoke to on the phone was not very friendly and quick to say no. Not a big deal, but was something we noted. During check in, it was the same person and she seemed very distracted. She had down that I was only staying one night, but we had booked five. She was able correct her mistake shortly, but she did not look up at me once! Aside from the unwelcoming energy and mix up on reservations, the check in process was easy. The room itself was spacious. Bed was comforable. The kitchen had all of the necessary kitchenware to make do for a few days. They left one dishwasher packet. The trash cans were tiny for a full size kitchen. The fridge was SO loud, but it did eventually quiet down. We were able to control the temp of the room and it was comfortable during our stay. Cleanliness was ok. I wish I took pictures but there were stains on the walls and the air was a bit musty. The toilet and plumbing had issues. It got clogged several times (I swear it was not a us problem lol) while we were there and each time, someone had to come unclog it or during after hours, we had to unclog it ourselves. It seems they only had one plunger for the whole hotel! We started using the lobby bathroom because it was such an issue. They offer a gym which was clean with a great variety of working equipment. We did not use the pool area, but it was a good size. The hot tub, unfortunately, looked unclean with a large amount of foam. We did not bother because of that. On the morning of check out (around 9AM), we had housekeeping knock on our door two seperate occasions (But within 15 min of each other) to come in and clean. I told them that we would be checking out today and do not need cleaning until after we leave. They asked me what time, so I told them closer to check out time. All morning long, all I could hear was housekeeping knocking on people's doors. It was very bizarre. One big highlight was the breakfast buffet. Having a complimentary hot breakfast with decent and varied options was lovely. They switched things up at the egg/meats bar, but also had cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, waffles, baked goods on the daily. A good amount of coughing kids, so bring hand sani and wipes to keep yourself healthy! Overall, a good central location to where we needed to be. Parking was ample. The space was decently comfortable with some room for improvement on the overall experience We loved having a kitchen but did not use it much this trip. I would stay again.

0/0 Stars!! If zero…read morestars were possible, that would be the appropriate rating. We were wrongfully charged nearly $300 in "cleaning fees" for a room that was left in clean condition. The only thing left behind were a few paper rose petals on the floor -- no damage, no stains, no excessive mess beyond what standard housekeeping manages daily. In fact, we brought our own trash bags, consolidated all garbage, washed dishes, unloaded dishwasher, and ensured everything was left respectfully. We have worked in hospitality for years prior to becoming hardworking nurses and healthcare professionals -- we know what a trashed room looks like, and this was nowhere close. We even left a tip for housekeeping as a gesture of appreciation. When we called to respectfully question the charge, instead of transparency or evidence, we were met with a series of serious and completely unfounded accusations seemingly used to justify the fee. We were accused of: * Burning the carpet with a wax candle * Smoking in the room * Generating noise complaints There was not a single wax candle in the room. We intentionally spent over $100 on battery-operated candles specifically to avoid fire hazards or damage concerns. The allegation that we burned carpet with wax is entirely fabricated. We were also accused of smoking. None of us smoke -- several of us are asthmatic. There wasn't even a lighter present. The idea that we smoked in the room without any odor, residue, or evidence is not only false, it's offensive. As for "noise complaints," we never received a single phone call, knock, or visit from security during our stay. Hotels notify guests immediately if there is a disturbance. That never happened. If complaints truly existed, why were we never informed at the time? We are healthcare professionals who took one evening to celebrate sisterhood and enjoy a simple self-care night. Instead, we were met afterward with baseless accusations and an excessive charge that feels far more like a money grab than legitimate policy enforcement. False claims, lack of evidence, and surprise post-stay charges are unacceptable. Proceed with caution. Take photos before checkout. Document everything. We will absolutely be disputing this charge.
