Goodwill Thrift Store & Donation Center - I found this funny little candle at the Lawrenceville HWY location. I couldn't pass him up. 99 cents!

I was in the area for an appointment and arrived early. So I decided to pop into here to check it…read moreout. I heard this was the highest volume store for the company in the metro Atlanta area. The place was smaller than the ones I've seen near where I live but it's exceptionally clean. There was no weird stains on the floor and no weird stale odor. I came in looking for a typewriter. (I've got my heart set on an IBM Selectric II or III. But they didn't anything of that sort.) But they had a nice book section and everything was organized nice and neat....I ended up having a nice conversation with a blonde headed woman who was sweeping the floor. She mentioned that once in awhile they do get in a typewriter. So I will have to come back again next time I'm in the area. She also said the place just got remodeled about 3 years ago so everything is still fresh and new for the most part. I saw that there were 4 cashiers helping people check out and there were at least 3 other people on the sales floors....kudos to them for staying on top of everything. Base on this experience I say the next time I'm in the area again I definitely will pop in again to see if they got what I'm looking for...

I guess it is official. GOODWILL is ANTI-CHILDREN! I went to…read morethe goodwill in Decatur Georgia on Lawrenceville Hwy and had a terrible encounter with their over zealous security guard. This big burley guy kept approaching my 11 year old granddaughter and her 9 and 7 year old siblings because they reached the toy section before I did. Though I used a different isle to get there, I was there before he reached them. When I asked him why he was approaching them he said he wanted to say something because even though he saw me ...they got there before I did. Made no sense to me but whatever. Moments later he was saying something to her again. This time we were all in the same isle. I could see them all. They were just standing waiting for me while I looked at dresses. I asked now what is the problem? His response made no sense. He actually approached her for the third time. I asked him to leave her alone and to speak to me the adult if there was a problem. It felt stalkish. These are well mannered children not running, not talking loud and not touching items that would make them unsafe. Why he kept approaching the kids and not me I could not understand. He just kept saying it is Goodwill's policy. Then he goes and get a manager and told her I requested her.. The manager tells me about Goodwill policy and I explained that I am right there with the children so are you saying they are not welcome because we are only trying to shop liKenat any other store. She told me "This is not any other store , this is Goodwill And this is our policy"I am confused. Am I not allowed to bring children with me ? Do I have to submit my grand children to harassment if I do? Just because they are children does not give you the right to disrespect them just as they are not allowed to disrespect their elders ( which is what they are taught). How would you feel if it was your children? Is Goodwill not A family friendly environment? I feel if an adult is present and you are a grown man .... you should approach the adult and not repeatedly approach an eleven year old girl. You are still a stranger and for the life of me I can not understand why you are addressing her and not me.
