Cheese burger

Excellent food and service The waiter was attentive the setting was perfect highly recommend if you want an excellent burger

Location of the restaurant is in a good approximate to the hotels along side of Quai du Mont-Blanc Service was a bit slow, and we started with a typical green leaf salad with a basic dressing which I did not like at all and they should consider to improve it or take out from the service I ordered double cheese Beef Burger's medium well and was just perfect, bacon is normally served with bacon, all burgers are served with a nice fries and very tasty coleslaw salad The price was a bit high but this is normal in this part of the world

It's all burgers here ladies and gentlemen. So, come here ready for the great American speciality. There is a decent wine (by the glass and the bottle, white, rose, and red) and beer selection (blond, wheat and a "local" beer) and there are at least five deserts on the menu, though I Must admit that I did not have dessert. Good service, a nice atmosphere, and simply solid food. The salad starter is dressed w/a shiitake-mushroom-soy dressing which is fantastic. The burgers come w/lettuce, tomato, pickles and you get your own American-style squeeze bottle of ketchup, mustard, and mayo. Outdoor seating when it's warm! And on price--folks, you are here in Switzerland, the most expensive country on planet Earth next to Norway, so if you want a meal where you are in a nice setting and you have a human being waiting on you and bringing your food, then you will pay for it. As other reviewers said, if you don't like it, go down the street in the Paquis and get yourself a $22 pizza!

21 Swiss francs for a bacon cheeseburger plate. That is about 22 dollars. Kind of ridiculous when you think about it but I think this place has the market cornered when it comes to quality burgers in Geneva. We arrived at noon and sat outside in the spring sun and by 1230 they were slammed. They have a beautiful patio with plenty of outdoor seating and tables with patio umbrellas. Let's start with the salad. A healthy sized serving of a mesclun mix tossed with a vinaigrette that had a hint of soy sauce. Pretty tasty. The burger arrived meat is fresh and tasty but pretty tiny. There is definitely a meat to bun ratio discrepancy. They use gruyère for their cheese which is very tasty but gives the burger a slight stinky nose feel. I liked it but I could see some Americans being turned off by this. The bacon was not really what we're used to but for 1 franc more it is worth the add. They also offer a good selection of hot sauces so make sure you ask but no guarantee that your server will remember. Our server was overwhelmed and forgot after we asked twice. The fries were on point. Seemed like they were fried in peanut oil but I'm not positive. Guess all in all this was A-Ok but I'd rather try something different next time.

So very American flag worthy!!

Best burger in Geneva, hands down. The owners got it right. The burger is smaller than that Holy place in town, but the meat is 100% better. The bun is nice soft seeded bun and the burger is topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, mustard, mayo and ketchup..perfectly made, perfect flavor. They have thin crispy fries. Also served with your burger is a mouthful of cole slaw and a green salad....a lot of food in amount and for the price, 20chf. The place was packed inside and out so service was slightly slow, but its new. The decor inside was very well done and cool looking. They have a few brunchie items as well. We sat outside on picnic benches in the sun, the servers were super nice, bringing us water and menus right away. I will go back for a burger again and it might be the only place for me to have a burger from now on.

In a city that often makes you feel like you're getting ripped off when you eat out, this joint actually makes me feel quite alright about parting with my francs. For CHF 21, I got a well-made bacon cheeseburger, a lovely green salad, delicious French fries, and a side of (forgettable) coleslaw (Dear Management - replace this with a nice artisanal pickle and you're golden). They also serve Brooklyn Lagers and their own brewed IPA, which was quite nice. Went here with a rather large group after having drinks by the lake and it was no trouble at all find a comfortable seat. Oh one last plus point: They're open EVERY. DAY. OF. THE. WEEK. In Geneva, that's GOLD. I'll definitely be back!

Great burgers. You can choose different sizes depending on your appetite. Little salad as complimentary starter was a nice surprise.

I imagine people come to Black Tap for other reasons than the shakes and burgers. I just don't know…read morewhat those reasons are. My wife decided to eat backwards with a blueberry shake first. This flavor is apparently popular and new so I was wary. The Graham cracker crumbs mixed throughout gave body to what was already a thick concoction. Meanwhile I was focused on the Old Fashioned, a tasty concoction of sautéed mushrooms, carnal iced onions, and a spicy creamy sauce. Any other day I would have been all over the truffle burger, but it might have to get in line with all the other tempting choices: Carolina (pork), Texan (beef and cheddar), All-American (w/ fromage US), am I really in Switzerland? All y'all can try the veggie or plant varieties. I'll stick to the plant-based sides (frites). I guess technically this place is "touristy" but they pull it off Genève-style with friendly service and helpful wait staff. A local I met up with the next day tried to take me there again, so it must be doing lots well. Give it a try if you're near the Rive rotund.

Well, maybe it was because I was just ordering a beer, or the waiter was having a bad day, but making snide comments in French as I was walking past certainly doesn't help. Sure, my French might suck, but you can recognise a snide comment in any language. This is definitely one of those places that should be avoided at all costs.

If you want a quirky, fun burger menu regardless of quality, go to Holy Cow (http://www.yelp.com/biz/holy-cow-gourmet-burger-bar-geneva#hrid:JEXC0ChiCuAclLef-3vbMQ). But if you want an exciting, creative burger that's actually really good, go to Inglewood. I split a Pasadena Special (cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion, "iwood" sauce, and egg) and a Camorra (mozzarella, tomato, roquette, mayo-pesto with balsamic) with a friend. The meat is THICK and PINK, so make sure you let the kitchen know if you're squirmish about blood. An initial taste-test seemed to lean towards the Camorra, but after a few more bites of each, I decided both were good enough that any marginal edge one may have over the other is negligible. The egg on the Pasadena was a bright, yellow spot of runny goodness, ad the mayo-pesto with balsamic blended with the subtle taste of the mozzarella to add a perfect amount of zing. The toasted white poppy seed bun brought everything together in a soft blanket of bread with just the right amount of crunch on the exterior. This burger made me happy, and for the first time in four months, I slightly wished I had more time in Geneva just so I could be a regular here. Is it the absolute best tasting burger in Geneva? I wouldn't vehemently disagree with anyone who argues either way. But the combination of creativity, taste, presentation, and ambiance has just made Inglewood #1 in my book. **UPDATE: Diningmate 1 has pointed out that I forgot to mention that the soap in the restroom smelled really nice. So there ya go.

The bacon was thin and undercooked, the beef was too lean for my liking, the bun was oversized, and the quantity of red onion was too overpowering (and I love onions). I was not asked how well done I would like the burger cooked, and the one I was served was extremely rare. This did not bother me, but I would imagine it could bother others. The fries were boring, but not bad. Overall I was unimpressed. Anyone claiming this is better than anything in the US has apparently never ventured outside a McDonald's.

Came here based on the Yelp reviews. It is in a neighborhood with several other dining options, but…read morethis was the only one with a crowd so we figured it would be good. Fortunately, the waiter was able to seat us at the bar without reservations. At least 2 other groups were turned away after us since there was no room left at the bar, and all the tables were reserved. Next time we will definitely make a reservation especially for a Friday night. The servers were all very friendly and checked in on us frequently (almost made me feel like I was back in the states!). I almost ordered the lobster dinner but the Yelp reviews made me curious about the lobster roll so I opted for that instead. Husband got the burger. He's not a seafood fan, so this place luckily had a burger and steak option for him. Both of our dishes came with a small salad (yummy sesame dressing), cole slaw (tasty not too much mayo like at home) and a generous serving of fries (so tasty and so crispy...probably the best fries I've had in quite a while!). I loved my lobster roll. Like the other reviews mentioned, it has a vinegary-herby taste, no mayo. So delish and it was much more food than I could finish. Husbands burger was also tasty. It was cooked medium rare like he asked, and there was a hint of BBQ sauce or something I couldn't figure out what it was. Definitely different from the regular burgers we have at home. We each had a glass of wine and the bill came out to 61CHF. Overall, great experience, tasty food, reasonable prices (remember we're in Switzerland after all).

I loved the simplicity of the menu because they have their specialty and when you make it the best, no need to mess with the rest. I ordered the homard entree with homemade chips (fries) and spinach with garlic. The beer I had was a Calvinus White and it was top notch and paired so well with the homard and hollandaise sauce. The chips were some of the best I've ever had anywhere. Food in Switzerland is generally expensive, but this meal was fairly reasonable even on the spectrum of high end prices you will find in Geneva, and the food and service is excellent. They were very friendly and kind since I was dining alone, and I had a great conversation with the two women sitting next to me. I love the ambiance of this restaurant, especially the industrial looking chandelier made of Edison light bulbs. This restaurant is a definite must try in Geneva!! Order extra hollandaise, it's that good!!!

There is also an Hawaiian bar on premises which is open in the evenings. Great atmosphere, juke box classics and friendly service. The menu was classic diner style with burgers, hot dogs, nachos, milkshakes and a few other bits and pieces. I loved the poutine which was probably the only non American thing on the menu ;-) Fresh cut fries topped with gravy and cottage cheese and here it also included some mozzarella balls. The Mexican burger was excellent and the burger cooked to perfection (medium rare). If you don't like thus ask the waitress to ensure your burger is cooked right through. For me a good burger should be served medium rare. The banana milkshake was fantastic and a meal on its own :-) All in all a great experience and would happily repeat again.

I'm very happy that we FINALLY have a diner in Geneva!!!…read more This place hasn't done much advertisement yet as it has opened mid September 2013 (less than a month ago). We passed in front and that's how we discovered this place. As mentioned in reviews before, the diner is part of a well known American and British market in town that exists for years and years. Decoration: The deco is AMAZING and much better than most of the diners in the US. It does remind a lot like diners from the Hollywood movies and it gives a pleasant feeling that you are part of something great! I can only give ALL the stars to the decoration and the fact that they made an amazing place in a short space and there's even one table for 9 people that is very comfortable. Service: Service is really great! A blond lady and an older guy were TOP, also another young guy who didn't seem to speak French! They were really running everywhere and helping and talking to everyone, even if it was quite chaotic and hard to control the people queuing. I've realized that in Switzerland people are less used to queue, in the US we saw many restaurants where people just queue and wait calmly, which was not in the case while I was at the American Dream Diner and people were quite agitated. They maybe need to create a hostess system where they take note of the name of the people queuing and who's first. People were lost but it seems it's just not part of the local culture to queue for a restaurant. Food: OKAY, this is the reason why I give 4 starts. Food wasn't great. I had many better burgers before, not only in the US but also in Geneva. Burgers are HUGE, this can be a good point for the ones with big appetite, however, they are not tasty. Meat is blend, sauce is not special at all, bread is not as fresh as it could be. It's not bad, but it's not amazing either. Although, the fries with cheddar were actually pretty amazing. We also tried the coleslaw as everyone was having a free sample when they arrive at the diner (which we though it was very kind of them and everyone appreciated) and the coleslaw was really good too, quite healthy and without much sauce and without being so sweet as many others, but it was DAMN GOOD! They also give us nice candies with the bill and it was sweet and yummy =) Overall, the experience was good and we can't wait to go back to try the hotdogs and milkshakes as the place is pretty awesome! If the burgers were amazing, we would never leave this place. If we could get the burger from INGLEWOOD or BLAQK and have the place of American Dream Diner, it would be a great combination... but guess we can't have it all! I would also love if they had American breakfast (at least on week-ends), that would be FREEEEAKING AWESOME and there're not many other places in town to compare the quality either haha... not like burgers where Geneva has some pretty decent places already.
