Course conditions are looking great. The snack bar has a good selection and the staff is really friendly. Pro shop is sparsely stocked with clubs but lots of soft goods. Greens are fast. Don't hit it too crooked or the mounding will propel your ball into the palmetto's. Hog damage is getting a bit bad. Just got new electric carts. But no GPS. read more

We teed off on a blustery chilly Florida morning in January. We started with warm up balls on the driving range. We hit off mats but I appreciated the different grass lengths of the mats to give you some variety. I liked the course. It was in good condition. Fairways and green were green and grass was well maintained. I played the green tees which were just under 5000 yds. The holes closest to the next door airport were so windy but on the other side of the course, there were enough wind blocks to make it more manageable. We played fast (which I love). All groups were moving along, even when walking. Carts did not have GPS. There was a decent amount of water and sand but it seemed fairly placed on the holes. As an added bonus, we saw a black boar run across the road on our way out. Liked this course. read more

The course is in very good condition. Greens are very fast. Staff were very friendly. But the course is a little too tough. From middle tees slope is 136 - difficult. Lots of water in play. Several fairways lined with huge bunkers - many bunkers surrounding greens. Fairways have numerous undulations - often forcing even good shots into the rough. Out of bounds is gone for good - almost no room for recovery. A few blind shots (no GPS) caused by doglegs. And because greens are so fast and sloped - small misses end up with really bad results. For the average golfer looking for a fun time - I'd check other options. read more

If your idea of a good round of golf is playing a 5 hour round and being surrounded by groups pounding beers, doing fireball shots, and puffing on cigars, this is the course for you. If you take your golf a little more seriously and actually care about your score, this is not your course. The course itself is a county course. Conditions are always decent but never great. Every couple of years I like to visit the Habitat so it can remind me of how many better courses there are within an hour drive either direction. read more

This golf course is in a very nice part of Brevard County. The course is well maintained and the management are very easy to work, I was purchasing a gift certificate along with a tee time. My brother-in-law loves this place. It's his go-to every time he is down. The staff are helpful and the course is fun.

Quiet, except for airport traffic--some airplane, some parachute-motorized, course with a links layout. Its a little tougher course than some with obstacles of various sorts. I like all the wildlife, too. Has many levels of tees. Many people walk the course. Two tees might be easier to play just driving into the lake and dropping at the drop--but its always fun to take the challenge. The course is well maintained. Tee times are easier by phone. Its a very friendly managed place. The front nine has an outhouse, the back nine at flushing toilet available on 12 and 17. Play usually moves well. Great track. Tough track. You won't believe it's a muni. The head golf professional, Alex Romanoff, is one of the best in the business and he's been in the PGA for over 20 years. Great teacher and good manager. The Habitat Golf Course stretches out to over 6,800 yards and has a slope and rating of 141 & 73.7 You will get your money's worth on this course! It's technically owned by Brevard County, which also operates Spessard Holland, which is another fun course that I am a fan of. But Spessard Holland does not compete with The Habitat Golf Course when it comes to length and overall conditions. The greens were rolling beautifully when we played about ten days ago. The 19th hole is pretty casual along with the rest of the clubhouse facilities but this place is all about he golf course and it won't disappoint. Avid players will love this golf course but it can be fun for all skill levels if you play from the correct tee box. It's a great place to take lessons and to practice as well. This is golf as good as it gets. The greens are excellent and the pin positions are always challenging. For a county course, this is the ultimate in pure golf. There are no houses, condos, or apartments along the fairways. Just palmettos and scrub. If you want to play a great course that rewards good play and heavily penalizes poor shots, you've come to the right place. After playing the Habitat, all other courses seem less of a challenge. The Habitat has multiple tees for all levels and large undulating greens. For golfers of all levels, this is a fun and challenging venue. read more
